Hi i have got from a friend a huge Classic Space colection consisting out of ~15 sets mostly Futuron and Classic Space. After sorting, washing for days and sorting again here is my very first attempt of a MOC "200", just containing the parts from the vintage sets. I tried to get the siluette of the ship as close as possible to the Classic Space logo, seen on any ship and any torso. It should had some nice play features like opening the "roof", turn the radar or carrying a litte moon buggy. That is the closed "roof" where you can get an early overview of the interior. You had to flip both, the radar and the "roof" to access the interior. Of cause you can open the other windows if one of those lovely guys is still smelly from the 26 years on the attic ;) That is my commander, sitting on its computer console. Did you noticed i love those printed computer parts? This pilot had a lot of button to press and a lot of levers to move before this ship is going where the commander commands it! The back, engines and the attached buggy. Every good thin´ is connected via a technic pin! (it rymes!) The underside. I was glad to have so many tilted pieces. The driver and his folded buggy. ...unfolded... ...and seated :) I hope you enjoyed it as i still do! I am glad to hear your comments. Dino

Hi yepp, im wondering about scheissse tonne as well, never heard it. Maybe hes referring to "Kackfass". Its a barrel full of poo and the methaper is used manly for old, worn used cars or machines. Dino

Hi outing myself as an investor. Of course im an AFOL too, play with my set and the ones of my kids. Lego investing became a hobby when i realized that Lego is expensive (breaking news!) but its easy to finance your hobby. As usual, if your spend time for something and you are curious, your get better and become insider info. I dont see a problem buying the DS 10188 when close to EOL and selling it right before the next one is to arrive. Made that way 45%on rop of my investment, so basically one DS for free for a ourchase of 3. And thats exactly what i did, sold two, kept one for me and my kids. I sold for example the Gungan Sub to Malaysia, a hard to get set over there.The purcaser was pretty happy to get it from me. I simply want all Lego Star Wars set (only movie sets) but cang afford them (all). Buying the right things at the right time and selling part of it makes that happens for me. Dino

Hi if someone would set this set rathing (66%) in releation to the average set rating we see on sets, especially Star Wars, its the worst set of all. Honestly, we dont see set rating below 70%, whatever the rating is based of, or whoever did the review. With that background im happy about the revoew and the honest opinion of the reviewer. I. a normal world 6 66% is quiete ok or even good, for a Lego review, especially a Star Wars review, its a bad set. Bob, its a good review with lots of great pix. Its not your fault that the Bacta Tank is the highlight of that set. Ooops, there is no Bacta Tank.... Dino

Hi when a set with over 4k pieces has a mrsp of 219€ than even the last one should realized that its NOT and NEVER about the piece count but the weight of the plastic. Big Ben will have lots of small and smallest plates and parts. I bet, if someone would weight Big Ben and the Sydney Opera both having the same/similar weight/money value. Dino

Hi Jim, first, i like all of your reviews, they are made both with passion and professiknalism, So please dont be too offended. But seriously, you dont have the need to advertise your upcomming review with a frontpage post. Post it these when its done. I really dislike WIP MOCs for example, just compare it with other MOCers that just posted their work - when its done. Its dosent grant you a "first" if you have "nothing" announced. The internet is for content, conetnt is kind, addvertisements are not. As much as im looking forward to "a" revoew of that set and as much as im looking forward for "your" review of it, i dont like seeing frontpage "adds". Does that make any sense? Especially you (as honored member and mod) dont have the need for that, Dino

Hi can anyone confirm if this set will be a limited edition like 41999? Both had/have these unique number/license plate. 41999 had 20.000 copies so far i know. Cananyone confirm too, if that set is the start of a (anual) series of super (cars) sets? Dino

Hi i m a huge Hoth fan and so i was really looking forward for that set. As previous posters worte, its sadly a bunch of medium and small sized sets without any unique feature. No, the ball canon and the power plant wont make it into that class. I believe it will be fun to huold that, with smaller kids especially, because these small builds and many steps and pauses. I alwas have a look to SW sets from the investing perspective. Since this set isnt a must buy, nothing new but expensive, not many will purchase that (unlike the Ewok Village). So, this may be an jntersting investment in a few year after EOL, since there wont be many sealed sets outside left. Dino

Hi like you i have only interests in movie sets, so i fully agree with you list. But i would like to add that the Droid Escape set has one huge advangte over the old one, which i have: Javas. Javas are hard to get and have been a Sandcrawler only fig. Yes, ther are older Javas, but in recent sets a 300€ Sandrcrawler is teh only source - so far... I may buy the sandrcrawler for investment but the Droid Escape set for the Javas because: "These are the figs im looking for" Dino

Hi i totally forgot about the straight wings of Kylo Rens shuttle.Thats a bummer, I should defenitely have the ability to angle the wings. But with respect to the Lambda shuttle there would have been a strong mechanism to turn them. The wings of the Lambda seem to be a way lighter than the ones from Kylos shuttle.Maybe a technic "lock" solution with two positions would help ratjer than a geared turning, Dino

Hi with the two mini TIEs(as wheels) it looks ven more like a bus. Relly, its a grey space shzttle and a bus combined by a 7yo. Archie, im not offending you, of course. Its just that you improovement doesnt make this a beatifuly set in my eyes. Dino

Khaled: nice, that you like my sig. :) Well, i wasnt recommending the 50mm macro lens for 1:1 minifig porttaits, its about the quality at closed aperature, f13 and f16 where you are able to get even huge and threedimensional mocs mostly in full focus. Thats it. Dino

Hi for the usual photography use the kit lens that comes with the body. 50mm is the SHORTEST focal length for a dedicated macro lens. Of course it will look like ~80mm on a full frame cam but who cares? All the other available macro lenses have 80,90, 105, 150 or even 180mm... The longer ones are for dragonflys though. 50mm is nice for product shot and if you get 1m away of the object, even larger sets or mocs (ewok village) are fully covered. The sigma 50mm ex 2.8 macro is avaiable for many brands, Canon, Nikon, Sigma and so on. Im a Canon guy though :) Dino

Hi i dont recommend specifoc cameras, i recommend camera types. within a type the cams of diffrent brands are very similar and only skilled photographers would take an advantage from the diffrent specs. Dont focus in so called macro modus most compact and bridge size cams offer. That only means you can get (and have to!) close to the object. For most cams that will only work in wide angle mode which looks silly in the pix. Cams with smaller chip, ccd, cmos sensor have a bigger depth of field, so thats good for macros in general to get most of the image depth sharp. Lager cams, system cams and DSLR need to close the aperature to do so, special macro lenses are still good at f13 to f16. I ever recommend DSLRs, spend some money on a body (not the latest model, maybe used) and get a sigma 50mm macro. the 50mm of that lens produces similar to the human eye distortions (=none!) and its a perfect lens for product photography. If you want to be more flexible, get a bridge cam, and check this out in a store: Go to a 50mm equivalent focal length, close the aperature in M or SV mode and shoot some small objects like minfigs. Hi sorry, i cant read that any longer. There is no "chinese plastic"! There is as well no "german steel"! There are lots! of plasic kinds (ABS is the one most used for Lego) but ghere are other AND all gots different additives like smoothener. There are reason far beyond financial decision why to take when which kind of plasic. The most important reason is molding speed and detail accuracy. Seen from that perspective plasic parts mad in China could have better quqlity than others. A company like TLG defines very very well and precise what materials to pick an why. By the way: All your iPhones (and mine) are mad of chines glass, plasic and aluminium!!!! Scandal! :) Dino

Hi both figs you mentioned have been collector items, not released through sets. Sets have kids as main audience! Kids, even at the age above 3 put things in their mouth, so chromes figs. Chrome tends to peel of them... We will see a Phasma in chrome, but as exclusive fig, may 4th maybe. Dino
