I hope your wrong. I think would be daft of Lego not to carry on the existing modulars. Parents aren't likey to encourage kids to start collecting doubles / similar too what they already have. But another modular that goes with the existing sets is a good Christmas / Birthday idea. A question for those who follow Star Wars when Lego did the Anniversary sets were they basically releases of 20 year old sets?

I think a lot of people will try to modify the new sets to work with the current modular series. But then you wonder will they ever realise a Chamber of Secrets to fit under the current great hall. Which would be better for kids. Looking at the crazy prices those original sets are at on Ebay I can see why Lego decided to get in on the action. It also takes the wind out the sails of people who buy for 'investment' purposes.

Anyone else find it odd that Lego have created 3 collections with in Harry Potter? The current modular series, the book classrooms, and the coming anniversary sets. Surely they'll end up competing for the same business?

I was wondering that too, would certainly boost sales if it could be. Particularly for kids who have the existing sets

I hope they revert to the normal style. It doesn't make sense for kids who've been collecting the modular castle to abandon what they've collected and start another collection.

People mentioning a HP series, could it be a Lego animation type series?

I can't imagine Lego going back to Yellow skinned people for HP. 20 years of it or not.

If Diagon Alley is available in other retailers in March when do you think the price will drop? Smyths do offers? My son wants it for his February birthday but I think he could be persuaded to hold off a few weeks if its likely to be 20% off.
