  1. i noticed this as well, i was told this is due to lego switching to more plant based plastics thus resulting in this change. I have no way to confirm this though. The color , and mold are different but also the size. Im building a large moc with the tracks and used 100 links of both the new track parts and 100 of the old. The old track parts were longer by almost half a track when i used this many links, also on bricklink it seems like sellers are holding on to the old version and selling the new so it seems us lego fans are not a fan of this change lol. I myself do NOT like this change.
  2. Hello Tom , I have seen several pictures of your custom LR 13000 and it is massive! I wanted to ask you did you have to make any modifications to your turntable? With all the extra boom sections you have added plus the extra counter weights and hoisting a heavy load I imagine it puts substantial stress on the turntable when you try to rotate the crane. Does the stock lego turntable design work with 0 issues or was a modification needed? I look forward to hearing from you!
  3. Hello everyone! I recently bought the LR 13000 set with the intention of really redesigning the entire model to create my own crane. In the process of doing this I seem to have created a crane that is to large to use the very expensive and specialized parts that came with this set out of the box. The boom parts and ballast brick parts along with a few others are now out of scale with my crane and are thus no use to me. Instead of keeping them in my collection to maybe be never used I want to sell them all as a package deal. This would be perfect for someone who wants to make there own LEGO LR 13000 set more accurate or just to make a super crane! Im selling all of the yellow and dark grey boom parts along with 48 ballast bricks which is double you get in the set. Also I will be throwing in all 4 white winch drums , all 3 strings , and the 2 ball roll parts for FREE. I calculated the price by going to bricklink and searching for the LOWEST price per part in the US. That gave me a price of just under $400. Im asking for $420 with shipping included to anywhere in the continental United States. Feel free to ask me any questions!
  4. thank you , this is a basic render of what im thinking of doing for the tracks , i absolutely want to connect them so it looks like one large track rather then 2 separate ones. when you say cover them with tiles do you mean just put a 1x4 tile on each track linkage , or create an entire system built tiled track which ive seen before. also the sprocket i will be using is the large sprocket that comes in this set , not the small one shown in the render. any tips or opinions are welcome !
  5. hello everyone! i just got this set and have completed the entire base. i will be redesigning the entire set and wanted to ask a few questions. im going to widen the tracks by adding an entire additional track to each track frame then connecting the two separate tracks together with an 11 length beam on each singular track part to make one large wide track on each side. my question is that i want all motors to be hidden in the tracks and im not sure on how to get enough power with the limited space ill have inside the track frame. i was thinking of using 2 angle motors connected to each drive sprocket in each track with 0 gearing. so two angle motors would drive the left track and two would drive the right with 0 gearing. do you think these 4 motors will have enough power or is gearing for a set of this weight absolutely needed? any tips and advise is greatly appreciated !
  6. I think this set looks absolutely terrible. Its not accurate to the real machine at all, i dont expect it to be an exact scale model but i do expect it to somewhat resemble the real life machine like the D11 and the R9800 did. For $700 and a year delay i was hoping for the best technic flagship set yet and instead we got this. For this to be modded to something more accurate would be a massive undertaking, for starters i would double the with of the tracks and buy as many boom segments as i could. That alone would cost a considerable amount. After looking at the pictures the set simply looks unfinished as well , the 1 hub looks to be just sticking out the back and not hidden at all , motor cables running everywhere and it seems parts of the crane are not even the right color , with the track frame base having a mix of yellow and grey when it should only be gray , also the over all shape of the tracks is wrong. If there is a huge sale on this set i might get it , but what are your thoughts ?
  7. was there a new leaked pic of the final model ? ive only seen the pic of it on the box and it was super fuzzy and the crane was super FAT lol ! in this thread i read a few people say the final model has been leaked.
  8. I can almost guarantee this set wont cost that much. We get tons of leaks every year of prices and models and in the end many have been wrong. Of course every youtuber and content creator will post these as facts asap to increase views. I still see a few sites that have this set listed at 599.99. Of course those sites could be wrong too. But a nearly 700 technic set with less than 3k parts I feel is very unlikely.
  9. unfortunately there is no suspension anywhere on the tracks , since the weight of all the added parts was bending the original frame of the model i had to reinforce the track frames and the undercarriage to fix this issue
  10. The journey is finally over , my D11T dozer is complete , includes 2 hubs , 7 motors and 8 linear actuators. Functions are adjustable blade height and tilt , adjustable ripper height and tilt, deployable ladder and individually powered tracks powered by the top sprocket more on my flicker https://www.flickr.com/photos/189622728@N07/
  11. sadly i wont be making instructions , i have no clue how to either lol , but if your building your own version ill help the best i can with any questions you have
  12. much progress had been made , it looks like the goal was reached to have all original functions the lego designed dozer had with the addition of 2 linear actuators to control ripper tilt , this means theres a total of 2 hubs and 7 motors , the dozer in the pictures is not finished just yet and comes in right under 13lbs with all batteries in the hubs if anyone knows how to slow down a motor in the lego technic powered up app please let me know , ive looked everywhere and cant find how to slow its rotation
  13. looks amazing , will you be building this model in real life ?
  14. unfortunately it does , theres around $150 in extra parts in the pics that you see in addition to some parts i had already , but if you have lots of yellow technic parts already you could save a lot of money
  15. have made lots of progress but theres still lots of work to be done lol. all functions are working except for the drop down ladder , ( 1 L motor for blade tilt , 1 L motor for blade elevation , 2 angle motors , 1 for each track , 1 L motor for bottom pair of linear actuators for the ripper , and 1 L motor for the top pair of linear actuators for the ripper, and 2 hubs , ) there will be one more L motor that will control the ladder
  16. Hello , is there anyway you have this version with the tracks on it
  17. been super slow progress due to bricklink orders but i have finally completed the main structure for my track frames , the support holding the upper drive sprocket will be gone in the final design , so it will be very accurate to the real machine , i just have it there now so i can get a feel for the look of the track. Also the upper sprocket will be the one that has the drive motors connected to it , and each frame also has 8 rollers that are hard to see in the pics
  18. looking forward to seeing the progress pics , my progress has been super slow , im waiting on 1 more bricklink order to come in then ill be able to complete my newly designed track layout , then ill be able to work on the internals and get the ripper assembly started , cant wait to share my progress !
  19. looks good , are you going to be adding the additional 2 linear actuators to have the ripper have more functionality , also what is a PTO ?
  20. Unfortunately not , i wanted to make everything as solid as possible so each roller is pinned into the track frame with 2 pins on each side of each roller , of course the rollers can still rotate
  21. ive been working on moving my drive motors to power the top sprocket, the ideal goal is to have no outer support holding the top sprocket wheel up like on the real machine , i most likely will need to have one though , also my entire track design is custom , the track uses one more link on each tread then in the original d11 set , the tracks are plenty tight so slipping wont be an issue , this is a super super rough design ive made
