there is lots of popular anime with a historic setting of some sort. but thats a territory lego hasn't touched yet... and prolly never will
technicly it is not anime, but i see your point a lego of a saracastic cartoon would not work well

Is this supposed to be an image of the Snow Warrior?
Are you seeing a 90s Tribal chief image with images behind it or a different image?
same one but the image is really quite a good minifigure behind the cheiftien

Having looked a lot at giant sized builds recently... the giant man is too big IMO... I know giants ARE big but how big is big... 24ft / 7m maybe? That's about a 2 story building or so... and if a minifig is 6ft tall (1.8) then that's 4 minifigs high... not a lot of room to build with...
Yes you can build BIG giants... but if they are too big you wonder how any of the little ones will have a chance in bringing it down!
I say why wait for TLG to come up with that perfect torso / motif / sign and just make them yourselves... there are some groovy things that can be made if one but tries :)
ps: yes I'm aware I'm late to the party but since this is a historical thread I doubt one can ever be Too late :) but if you don't like it then sue me - I am currently represented by Harvey Birdbath at Garrett, Smithkinson and Buttermilk (deceased) attorneys at law
you can make your own minifgure, there is a a place n new york and florida and some other places were you design it and it is printed
i built one, it is a good process

That’s my biggest beef with that set. Can you imagine if the they had created a new medieval civilian torso or, how about this, go reuse one of those awesome torsos from Mill Village Raid that never saw the light of day again…
a blackfalcon king would have been cool

As for the ideas sets results. If you built a castle themed ideas set this year, as beautiful as they are, you were simply wasting your time. Perhaps next year or more likely the year after TLG might consider another castle ideas set. They are going to rotate through the history themes from year to year no matter how good the sets are and how many people vote for them.
After doing two Brickworld shows this month, I can say with absolute certainty that kids and adults are frustrated as hell that there are no castle sets. I have been displaying Goldcrest for about 13 years now. The feedback I am getting from patrons has shifted greatly after the 2 year hiatus created by the pandemic. Since my display is such a large castle people are seeking answers from me on how to get castle sets/minifigures. I have to sadly inform them that I bought my castle LEGO long ago and that I am also longing for new castle sets. Never in my many years of displaying castle have I got even a small percentage of complaints I am now getting about the lack of historic sets for people to buy. I tell every patron to write to TLG to express their concerns in hopes that there is one intelligent person in the company that might hear them. IMHO TLG has strayed too far from their historical model concerning themes. Many parents want their kids to have a similar experience with LEGO that they had. Sadly those products are being denied to them and I feel that is an opportunity lost.
The natives are getting restless... Which is great, because they are coming to the place I have been for a few years now.actually a 12th century city sers could do well, there is a cartoon about a fanatsy medieval time with hsitoric looking citys and castle alongside fanatsy ones called disenchanment that lego could make a seires simlair to, but the cartoon is far to old for lego, there is alcholol and jokes about murder in it

Hmmm...I believe it has been revealed.
Here is the google trad of promobrick's paragraph about the set :
The forest mythical creatures are not as fabulous as the name may convey. It is simply a purple owl and a reddish-brown hedgehog. As an accessory there is a built book. Alternatively, a deer with a rabbit (Bambi sends greetings) or a squirrel with nut can be built from the stones. The 175 stones cost 14.99 euros and also appear in March.
March, according to the promobricks article (google trad just above).
ah, i should have been specific i ment the viking set, but i am exited for the forest

is it releasing summer or winter ? i hope it is winter

hi, i saw a article here a while ago about how we might have gotten a green dragon in kingdoms and i am going to write some of my theorys for what kingdom sets we might have gotten. If you do not know what kingdoms is ( i would be suprised if you do not, form what i know it was well liked ) it was a castle theme wit 3 factions fighting each other. Green dragons, red lions and a black falcon in one set. The first thing i did when guessing what other sets we might have gotten, is by comparing kingdoms sets and elements to older castle themes
Red lions: the kingdoms red lions, have a very similiar sheild to the crusders from old castle sets, the sheilds bot have a lion on them and have red as part of the it
green dragons: the kingdoms green dragons, have sheild with a curled dragon on a green one could argue that they could be ment to be a black knight updated, but the green and there being led by a wizard suggest tthat they are a contuntaion of the dragon masters
On other thing is that many kingdoms sets are very simlair to classic castle sets, the king castle to kings castle tower rescue to majetsos tower catpukt attack to the battering ram set and blacksmith to black smith
what could we have gotten: based of the simlateries told castle sets, i think had kingdoms continuied we may have gotten sets simlair to majestos magic workshop, fire breatthing fortress and kings mountian fortress somehwat like these mocs

sir rascus might work as heavy infantry

I miss Castle as much as the next guy, I'm gonna play devil's advocate and say that Bionicle fans have been just as miserable, if not more so. In 2010, when the line was initially cancelled, LEGO promised that the online story serials that were supposed to wrap up the theme's story would be continued, but they ultimately decided shut down everything very soon afterwards, leaving in the dust all the Bionicle fans who were hoping for a proper conclusion to the theme's story. Fast forward to 2015, when the much hyped up reboot was released, and everyone is happy again... until that too was shut down before it even had a chance to properly start.
Not having any sets released for almost a decade is one thing... but having the line return only to be quickly cancelled yet again was even more painful for those fans.
there are themes of that for worldbuilder, castle does not have as many, i get your point though
-
cool !!!! i have built ( and i am building ) islands on meg blocks baseplates that float, i have never seen a ship that floats, execpt for duplo and city hulls, that is very epic !!!! 40 cannons !!!! i would not want to be a pirate fighting that ship !!!!

I like the build and that you can take the different levels off. Rock work looks good with the vertical long pieces. The great helm in black would be nice.

That was such a wasted opportunity , think if we got something like 7189 Mill Village Raid, but with monsters instead of dragon knights. The cartoon even had a sheep mould
Wrong it is Fabuland
They had over 10 years with sets before it suddenly stopped over 30 years ago
almost the entire theme is about attacking villages, it would have been epic if they built a village set, because it could have been used i normal castle, the vechiles that they had really huge sets of made no sense, because they were in the series not as much and If they had built the knights vechiles as smaller sets and had the meduim sets be villages and monster castles, it would have been a a better castle theme
3 hours ago, Jack Sassy said:Wrong again, it's actually Legoland sets, they were doing so well for so many years, until discontinued in 1989, never to be seen again...
nexo knights had good sets for space, so definatley it is not them
-
i think that nexo knights, if the knights looked normal and if instead of vechiles they had mythical creatures would have been cool, the bad guys were good for normal castle and i am very suprised that they did not have a village set, most of the show is about monsters attacking normal medieval peasant villages

Thank you so much!
Thank you! Glad you like it that much! I haven't heard about "Worldbuilder" yet. Does it work just the same way that LEGO Ideas does?
sort of, you build a theme, write a description put pictures of characters and places sets and things and lego picks one, lege has already bought one, but not a castle theme. There is no voting https://worldbuilder.tongal.com/
-
very epic !!!! i do not know if you know, but lego built another ideas called worldbuilder, were you can build a theme, all your sets are really great and maybe you could put them on worldbuilder and get them all built as a theme

NOOOOOOOOOOO !!!! april fools !!!! that ship would be so epic !!!!

Yes. I think @valon is just being coy.
From the Promobricks site with some paraphrasing by me: ‘The LEGO 31120 Knights’ Castle will cost Euro 100 (RRP) in Germany and is thought to consist of about 1,500 parts. The set is scheduled for release in June 2021.’
Promobricks has a solid track record of describing sets accurately before their official reveal. So it’s a pretty safe bet that the above - and indeed the rest of what it says about this set - is right.
i hope that it is a set and the that promobricks is right, they are alot, but lego has not said i really hope it is a set

I think the use of minidolls in Elves was fine. The theme used Friends-like parts, from minidolls to horses and animals to Dragons' heads. They are all the more rounded, somewhat cutesy type designs. Of course, it would have been nice to get minifigure versions of the characters to use body parts with other themes but for use with a self-contained theme, I think it was the right choice.
i think the those minifigures are useless, but i like the sets

elves is cool, things like that would be epic as a castle theme, elves would be better with normal figures, the only thing i do not like is that

I wouldn't say the kids market is too crowded. The only original action-adventure theme we currently have is Ninjago (I am not counting Monkie Kid, because it was made exclusively for China). I think there is still room for at least one new original theme to run alongside Ninjago right now.
i agree although monkey king is really cool it is more china. I hope that lego build a castle theme fantasy or no

anime is weird to me, but i suppose a medieval version of the anime style lego sets around knights kingdom 2 would be interetsing ( or would it be knights kingdom 2 agian ? )
