[MOC] Boston Style Dunkin Donuts with Apartments

Thanks, I live like an hour away, hands down my favorite city to visit! Thanks man!
  2. Hey Eurobricks! I have been working on this project for awhile now. This is a Dunkin Donuts under an apartment complex styled after the Dunkin on State Street in Boston, Massachusetts. This will be built with real bricks and placed into my city someday, and I am excited for that day to come! Full view render of the building. minifig-eye-view from where State Street will be. Front view of the apartment entrance. Interior view of the dunkin! This render is a minifig-eye-view from the intersection of Main and State streets. From this view we see the palace cinema, with Engine 135 in the left hand corner. This is a digital recreation of my city. This render is a minifig-eye-view from main street next to the town hall, with Rescue 115 in the foreground. This is a digital recreation of my city. This is another render from main street and state street, this time coming from the west side. This is a digital recreation of my city.

[Opinion] Review of the new road plates system (2021)

Personally, I love the new plates, and they actually allowed me to make a better city. They are also great for low cost MILS roads. To be fair, I did not have a huge city to start with, so converting to these was cheap and easy.

    [MOC] (Digital) BCFR Truck 134

Hello EB, I shared one of my real life rigs with you the other day and I wanted to share my most recent digital designs. This is Truck 134, it is stationed in the South District of Brickford City (also known as South Brickford or District 1). District 1 (South District): Truck 134 Callsign: ST-134 Truck 134 is a 2020 Ferrara Inferno Tower Specs: 2020 Inferno HD-100 RM Cummins 600 HP 3000 GPM Pump 2000 GPM Platform Deck Gun 100 Foot Aluminum Ladder 400 Gallon Tank Federal Signal Lighting Federal Signal EQ2B Federal Signal TouchMaster Grover Airhorns In addition to building that, I also COMPLETELY redesigned the North District fleet (This is District 3 of Brickford City or North Brickford, each district has a different color scheme) This is an entire fleet shot: You can view in depth specs and closeups of all my district vehicles here: http://sbfd.weebly.com/apparatus2.html, My goal is to be able to build all of the digital vehicles (about 30) in real life someday. Thank you for stopping by, if you have any suggestions, please let me know!

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

I am! I never was a fan of the old road-plates, so I did not have many, plus having a small 1 table city made the switch easy for me.

Offline. I think there are a few toy stores in Canada and Northern US that put them out early. Don't quite remember which ones.

    New Roadplates & Towns?

I have a rather small town at the moment and I see a ton of potential for creativity in the new system, so I will be switching. I think it is a lot more modular than the current system and the fact that it doesn't have curbs finally makes it so we don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on tiles to tile the studs on traditional plates. For me, it will be saving money, and I think it has the potential to look absolutely amazing if done right.

    BCFR Engine 112 - 1987 FMC /Spartan

Hello EB! This is Engine 112's "new" ride: a 1987 FMC/Spartan (Refurbished/Rebuilt 2020). This rig is by far my favorite engine so far and I am very pleased with how it turned out. For the sake of story telling, this rig had its chassis rebuilt, and the engine and pump where replaced with a 2020 Cummins Diesel and a 2020 Hale 2000 GPM Pump system. Technical specs: 1987 FMC/Spartan (Refurbished 2020) 2020 Cummins 500 HP Diesel Engine Federal Signal EQ2B siren Feniex Titan Siren Feniex LED lighting 2020 Hale 2000 GPM pump 1000 gal water 750' of 4" LDH 3 lengths of draft hose 400' of 1.5" attack hose 1X 100' of 1" pre-connect 1X 100' 2 1/2" pre-connect Special thanks to Castle Beach Fire for the deck gun and angled intake valve designs.

    BCFR Engine 112 - 1987 FMC /Spartan

Yes it is! American Fire apparatus last a LONG time. My town had a 30 year old engine they just sold to another department which is refurbishing it. If a department needs to save money, or just really likes a certain piece of equipment, they will refurbish it or rebuild portions of it to keep it going. These old FMC rigs are still in service in some towns. People also collect and restore old apparatus as a hobby.

    BCFR Engine 112 - 1987 FMC /Spartan

Thanks! Yeah, I am still playing around with chevron designs So, funny story, that's how the studio model is, but I had collisions turned off by accident and didn't notice that it would actually collide with the 1x2 black tile. I went to build it IRL only to discover that I had to do it this way.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

As someone who builds custom LEGO fire apparatus...I concur. LEGO's versions of fire vehicles this time around are just not great at all.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

I really like the look of the new road system actually. It's like LEGO is adopting the MILS plate system almost. The houses and smaller cars are ok, but the fire sets are rubbish, I never buy them anyway but still.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

All great points. I want to set my city up like Boston so the narrow streets with sharp intersections works just fine for me. The lack of curved pieces may be an issue for others however.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

Those new road plates look awful. They are like...3 different shades of gray, and none of the plates are even. I really hope it isn't the end product.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

I love the fact their names are puns lol.
  24. BrickfordCityFire

    .

I would say if the new road plate leaks are true, it would definitely give an opportunity for more underground systems.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

after thinking about it and drawing up some plans, along with some STUDIO tests, I am actually starting to like this new idea for roads, I will probably switch to them depending on what the price is, and how expensive it would be to convert my modulars over to it..
