Black cats! A sign of black magic! Be gone you fellon from the nether world or convert now before it is too late. Humph! You do not seem particularly wealthy as I see no gold in your hand (although there is likely some in that purse of yours) and you can only order a glass of water. Your path to the brighter world is looking unsure at best, my boy. I would strongly advise that you attempt to earn your salvation before setting out on dangerous missions from whence you have little hope of ever returning.

[Guide] Rendering LDraw models using POV-Ray
Palathadric replied to C3POwen's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Okay, I did this, and it didn't work at first, but, after a few tweaks, it did work. So now I can render with LGEO. Great! However, I could not use the "Koyancolours" file. It just shows all these errors, I don't understand why. I did it as it said in the guide. Perhaps I should download POV-Ray 3.7, as that way I would at least be on the same page as the rest of you as far as the actual programme is concerned. -
[Guide] Rendering LDraw models using POV-Ray
Palathadric replied to C3POwen's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That is my directory for the LGEO Library. It must be the most common one, eh? Or is that default? Must be. Will add those things in POV-Ray and look to see if it helps. Thanks! -
Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
Palathadric replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Absolutely agree! Brilliant! Can't wait to see further updates on this. This is the best MOC ever! ...okay, maybe I was a bit too quick in saying that. -
I still have some issues with saving the page, but otherwise it's good. I think it's probably just a problem with my internet connection, it's been acting up recently. Nice review. This faction was one of my favourites.

[KEY TOPIC] Official Lego sets made in LDraw
Palathadric replied to legolijntje's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Odd, because it only shows the very top of the image for me and it takes forever to load. None of his other images give me this problem. It must be something to do with my browser though.- 2222 replies

Totaly Wicked: Your image for 3742-1: Tender seems to take forever to load, at least on my connection. It seems awfully large for an ordinary .png image? Just wondering why it would be so large.- 2222 replies

[Guide] Rendering LDraw models using POV-Ray
Palathadric replied to C3POwen's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
But the thing is I am still having problems with the POV-Ray file after creating it through LDView. It seemed, at first, to not be noticing the directory or something, perhaps I need to install it somewhere else, although I don't think that could be the problem, but...it's possible. Anyway, here is the POV-Ray file C3POwen. Thanks again! POV-Ray File -
Just let me know which one that will be so that I can avoid it.

[Guide] Rendering LDraw models using POV-Ray
Palathadric replied to C3POwen's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Since your LGEO files were not quite ready, I was using Kovan's guide from the link WhiteW0lf gave. Hence, L3P. I cannot upload the file right now, but I will do so soon, maybe tomorrow or the day after. Thanks! -

[KEY TOPIC] Official Lego sets made in LDraw
Palathadric replied to legolijntje's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I have decided to wait it out with the rendering of my images until go through C3POwen's guide (will have to wait until he gets those LGEO downloads ready, hint, hint! ). I have also had not too much time to work on the sets. Anyways, once I figure the rendering out properly (if I do ) then I will probably have to revamp all my posts here. Humph, probably even my whole brickshelf account. Beware and be forewarned legolijntje.- 2222 replies

Perhaps I shouldn't have signed up for a quest so eagerly. I'd prefer to wait it out. Although, if money is involved...

[Guide] Rendering LDraw models using POV-Ray
Palathadric replied to C3POwen's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The LGEO library does not work for me in L3P. It says certain .def files, I believe, are missing, or something of the like. Do you know why I am having this problem? I tried in LDView and when I start the rendering in Pov-Ray it gives me some error messages, so I editted the directory a few times, but it just kept on giving me the error message in different places in the file. Does anyone have a clue as to what the problem is? PS: I was not sure whether to post this here or elsewhere, but... -
The Fellowship of the Ring
Palathadric replied to Nuju Metru's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I think Gandalf looks better in this one than in the original. Very well done in general. -
Being that it is all fantasy, I guess I'll just keep my character more or less the way he is, with the few changes I did mention in my last post. If that's okay. On a slightly different topic, I am quite interesting in all the "history", if you will, of Eubric. Where can I find...Ah, never mind, I found it.

Old style stylized creatures and animals versus newer versions
Palathadric replied to Calabar's topic in General LEGO Discussion
For the most part I go for the older animals, I think. For example, the older shark, parrot, etc. The new ones, in my humble opinion, often do not look quite as "Lego-like" as they should. Although, it is definitely on a case by case basis, and sometimes I do prefer the newer ones. It depends on what I am looking for, I suppose. Even with minifigs though, I often prefer, in all honesty, slightly older ones to the newer ones. For example, for me, the minifigs under the pirate theme released in 1996 were probably my favourite, with the Spanish Armada and all. For caslte it was 1994. Although, actually, for minifigs, nothing has changed as far as the actual shape is concerned... -
Terribly sorry for starting this whole debate. Did not know it would be such a problem. I do not think I can recall mentioning that Monk Pretzel is actually a "Christian" per se (although I may have, will have to check), although the cross and my mentioning of "church" and the like certainly point significantly to that. I will, as of now, refrain from using any mention of Christianity, etc. Although, as is the nature of my character, he shall continually attempt to persuade others to his faith and help them to attain their salvation (or whatever you want to call it, "entry into the other world" or whatever) by a small "token" let me say. I figure that references to "God" should be acceptable (am I not right?), since it could be referring to anything. I hope this is okay, and if there is need for me to change anything then please let me know.

Christianity non-existant in Eubric, eh? All the more heathen to convert then. Yes, I must not be from Eubric...that's the thing...no wonder I look like a human, but from my age I reckon that I'm not. Will keep all of this in mind though, but the conversion of the heathen just seems to be so much a part of my character...hmmm...

Custom milling machine

Shhh! The rest of EB must never know. Let's keep it hidden in this forum. -
That has got to be a record for one topic. We should celebrate.

"If that is the case, then I feel my level of confidence has been boosted. Besides, the gold does sound good, and there are no doubt a lot of heathen out there who need converting. Although, I am really uncertain whether the undead can still be converted. I am uncertain of whether or not I will do well, but hell...ooops, as a monk, I can't say that, I may as well give it a chance. If I am not excepted, well then that's that." Said Monk Pretzel. "Oh, and I shall have to take my 99 pieces with me." So saying, he signed his name (thanking God that he was a monk, and therefore could actually write) for Quest 24: Hunt for the Draugr.

[KEY TOPIC] Official Lego sets made in LDraw
Palathadric replied to legolijntje's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Yeah, I made all a copy of each of my models. One with minifigs and one without. On my renders the minifigs look okay because the rest of the model looks just as bad, but with your ultra lego-like renders, the minifigs would probably not look that great.- 2222 replies

"Confident" it says. It requires a confident team. Humph! I am guessing that they desire at least somewhat experienced members for this then.
