LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
andhe replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Where have you been?! Yeah there is a gold 'chase' figure in this series (in addition to the normal set of 16). Not the strongest series in my opinion but some great individual figs and parts.- 1076 replies

Cute! For a moment I feared a mega blocks mash-up (as they have the smurtfs licence), but the microscale is great and instantly recognisable!

How about John Rhys-Davies? He was Gimli in LOTR, and Sallah in Indiana Jones (who appears in the Lego Indiana Jones game in minifig form... :P)? -

Pm sent regarding Uruk-Hai army sets. -
I think we read the 7.99 price point, which would be amazing, so makes me doubtful!

You can view these quite large/zoomed in. Looks like the wizard has a black beard and hat, and can see a nice 'lock' printed 1x1 round flat tile. The horse head armour looks a bit of an odd shape but the baddie armour printing looks nice.

^^I think people might be refering to the colour? At first glance there seems a predominance of bright blue for the goodies and red for the baddies (similar to KK). There doesn't seem to be many new parts (someones pointed out a sloped corner brick, in blue), but as noted on flickr, there seems to be good parts in new colours ie. the new highlander sword in pearl gold, the flame/plume in regular blue and the great helm in black (currently only available with the Kingdom's joust). From the fig picture above, you can see the horse barding is open at the back to allow movement of the new horses (black horse in the distance, top left). Let's just say I'm hoping for minifig battle packs like there have been for the Fantasy Era, and Kingdoms.

Liking the figures (or at least the parts) as the torsos look easy to add to existing factions (they seem to be using both the crown AND lion head, and I bet the baddies black/red combo would look good alongside the series 7 evil knight). The castle does look like mainly large parts, I guess to be cheaper, and easier for kids to build. I'm sure this will do well with the lower age range, but the lack of originality in this design is disappointing for other collectors/builders. Will probably stick to the smaller sets, especially if the smallest set does have 4 figures, and hope that they have the black bucket helms as the picture below suggests. The horse armour does look a bit odd though, and not keen on the friends hairpiece. From German toy fair by Brickset, on Flickr

^Might be easier just to quote it (spelling a punctuation corrections are mine): "Castle 2013 will feature a red and black foe with dragons against blue and gray heroes with a lion symbol. There will be 5 sets out in August. To launch there will be a large event at Warwick Castle including a Treasure Hunt. Set details: 70400 Forest ambush £7.99 70401 Horse carriage getaway £17.99 70402 Gatehouse raid £24.99 70403 Dragon peak £34.99 70404 Kings castle £79.99" Shame about the whole dragons/lions thing AGAIN, unless this is meant to be a continuation of Kingdoms (but I doubt it). Price points look pretty decent though :D</p> Source http://brickfanatics.co.uk/toy-fair-report/

Do these fig parts work together?

The cheapest one in the US is 20cents. I say buy it and see, as I'd love to see what it looks like! -

According to the press release for the Doring Kindsley 2013 books (the ones that do all the lego sticker books and visual dictionaries) the toy soldier is confirmed as the exclusive figure that will come with the CMF collectors books.- 1076 replies

I've bought from brickwarriors directly, which works out cheaper than firestar, especially when they have a free shipping offer! To me firestar seem horrendously over-priced on all their products, but maybe I'm just missing something. Brickwarriors is top notch stuff. Great quality and 'clutch'.

I'd be interested in a mermaid. Do you have any other s9 apart from the knights? -
Nice use of the new heroic knight, and I like the evil head on the table behind him! :D Great sword collection.
-
Great use of those werewolf heads and really like the cart details. Where are the pig cart wheels from? I don't recognise them?

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion

I think previously they've had a limit on how many you can buy on their website. But if you want a case try bricklink, amazon or just get to a store before they get opened! -

Hi there! I made this figure for the 'Realistic Character' category over on the Classic Castle competition. I hadn't seen this skirt technique used anywhere before, but I'd loved to know if it has been. Queen Elizabeth 1558-1603 by andhe :-), on Flickr The capes just fit over the leg pegs. Using the full cape makes the figure quite tall, and Queen Elizabeth is actually stood on a 2x2 brick here so she can stand up. Someone suggested using the new shorter capes (see below) which also works, but in my opinion, looks a bit out of scale. Lifestyles of the rich and famous by andhe :-), on Flickr Thanks for reading. - Andhe

Lord of the Rings Game - Minifig Designs
andhe replied to DarkKnight7's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Great stuff! I'm sure we'll see a different version of Aragorn if TLG release more LOTR sets next year. The tunic you've given him here looks excellent, and would be a great army builder. -
What do you guys do with Crown knights?
andhe replied to Brickington's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Slightly off point, but I only discovered you could remove minifig arms safely after I left my dark age (I was a careful player as a child, not one of these 'pull all my toys apart' children). On topic, my crown knights vastly outnumber my kingdom knights, due to the fantasy era being the subject of my 'lego buying boom' as I rediscovered Lego. The crown knights are the host nation, with the dragon and lion knights more as guest nations. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion
andhe replied to muscleman's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah I was thinking the same. It would explain why the head is so large, and would alos be a nice feature of being able to 'pose' the eyeball' by moving the minifig 'head'. It looks like a new piece, with a stud that fits over the minifigs hand. The artists pallette was a pretty specific shape. Anyone else noticed that the judge has short legs? -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion
andhe replied to muscleman's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm guessing this is where the female elf rumour confusion came from. Why has the cyclops got a ginormous head!! -
I think the suggestion, from rumours and the website the name and description was found on, is that part of the release is likely to be a re-release of a previous castle set (or possibly an update of an old set), as 'Legends' was also previously a (unsuccessful I think) line of re-released 'classic' sets. There was also an AFOL survey a little while back where TLG asked what set's fans would like to see again... so maybe this is a result of that? I'd find it odd/confusing if 'Legends' is the actual name, seeing as they have Legends Of Chima also being released.
