  1. The legs (not hips) are from the Fantasy Era Crown King.
  2. It would seem great minds think alike! I think I actually prefer your figure, even though I'm not familiar with the source material. That hammer is great! And the blond hair really adds to the figure. Whilst I'm not a fan of the Chima theme, they've definitely produced some interesting parts for castle/fantasy builders.

    REVIEW: 850839 Pirate minifigure pack

The map tile is also in these sets http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3068bpb315&in=S so it really does look like there's not a single new part in this set. Such a shame, as just a little bit of 'newness' would have made it a lot more attractive than just seemingly looking to offload a lot of spare parts from their inventory.

    LEGO Castle 2013

Those are great, and must have taken quite a bit of work. Nice to see some of the older sets in their as well.
  5. I'm after a few pieces. Black primarily, but also interested in brown/orange. (CMF Ice Hockey head) I'd also be interested in Hobbit dwarf parts (beards, torsos) and new castle parts/head/torsos, but the above are my main current 'wants'. I'm UK based, so preferably UK or Europe. But will trade with North America if we can bulk up the trade to make it worth it.
  6. Unfortunately I'm having to say -1 for The Joker1. It's been over 2 weeks since we agreed a trade and I posted my side (which he confirmed he received). I have still not received anything my end from him, and getting any answers has been like getting blood from a stone (despite the fact that he is obviously logging on and posting). Disappointing :(
  7. If they've been bought, are there any actual product pictures? I'm always a bit underwhelmed by the pictures after all the initial speculation, until I see the figures 'in the plastic'. Severely disappointed by the Barbarian. Had hoped for a new sword or at least something. Was expecting more of a Conan look. The yellow was definately an odd choice for the waitress, maybe it will look different in person.
  8. LOTR looks like the game Heroica shoulda/coulda been. Thanks for posting the instructions.
  9. This is great. I'm not familiar with the storyline but you seem to have done an excellent job of capturing the look and feel of the source material. I really like that the two scenes are contained within the same MOC as well. The lava is particularly impressive. Are there lightling effects or is it just yellow and red plates underneath the trans studs? Great work!

    Heroica Figure Wanted!

Bit late to the party on this one but I'd tried out the parts and taken the picture before I realised the original post date. But thought I might as well share anyway. I don't have the face, but you get the idea if you wanted to recreate it. I kept the basic look but just switched up some more 'castley' parts. IMAG3492-1-1 by andhe :-), on Flickr

    Edoras

Looking nice so far. I'd recommend adding something to those roofs though so they're not so studdy. Minifig hands often work well as thatch, or there might be similar techniques that would add a bit of medieval greeble (mediegreeble? if that's not a term, I'm claiming it right now).

    MOC Highway speedster (GT mod)

Great Mod! I've never really payed much attention to creator stuff as I'd always figured it wasn't minfig scale and I'm mainly focussed on castle stuff. But this set, and your mod, look great. Be interested to know how you lowered it to fit the figures in after reading through the review as well.
  13. After picking up 76006 with a major discount (thanks Tesco Clubcard scheme!) I was inspired to adapt the boat, seeing as it bear no relation to the film, and my Batman was currently riding a Jetski (www.brickset.com/detail/?set=30160-1) which just didn't seem fitting. I tried to combine the two sets as much as I could, but eventually lost track of what extra parts I'd added. Bat Boat (76006 adaptation) by andhe :-), on Flickr I stuck in an engine, adapted the cockpit and added a few extra missiles. I'd got the bat wings in a bulk load of lego, which is surprising as I have no other Batman lego, but managed to make them fit. The back however still looks a little like a hearse. Seeing as Bruce got the boat, it only seemed fair to give Robin the remains of the jetski (with a few bit added). Robin Jetski by andhe :-), on Flickr Thanks for looking.

    MOC Batboat (76006n adaptation)

Thanks, Ideally I would have liked a black hull, but it doesn't seem to be in many sets, and not in anything I have. Look foward to seeing your version, I would have like to place a central fin, but just couldn't work it out with the bricks I had available.

    Iron Man Mark I

Nice Iron Man. But the Captain America on ice cracks me up!
  16. The cape looks brilliant. All you need is to find a series 10 Mr Gold and you could use the cane :P

Review: 76006 Extremis Sea Port Battle

Thank for the review, I hunted it out as I've just picked up a copy on sale and was very pleased with it. Initially I was only interested in the opportunity to get Iron Man and War Machine but the boat is in fact quite nice, and with a bit of tweaking could easily become a nice batboat. The flick-fire system is very clever, as I've always found flicking the missiles a bit fiddly, and usually results in your nail smacking into a brick a few times until you get it right! The set obviously bares no relation to the movie, or is rather a slight blend of a few scenes, possibly from an earlier script, or just TLG's interpretation of scenes without giving away too many spoilers (the comic is a good example of this, where it seems to follow a different storyline entirely). I don't have a problem with this, in the end TLG have to make a set that will be playable, and sell. The inclusion of War Machine rather than Iron Patriot is interesting, but again may be a product of an earlier script or spoiler avoidance. The inclusion of Iron Patriot would have pushed this set up a few points for me, but as it is, I'd give it a solid 7/10 especially if you can pick it up on sale.

    LEGO Castle 2013

Pearl light grey http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=2570&colorID=66&in=A The sets are quite 'meh'. I appreciate that a return to basics might create an appealing line for kids, but as we're all adults this is a pointless argument. Are they sets that appeal to me? Not particularly. Should I expect TLG to do better and appeal to me as an AFOL? Probably not. Can I hope for more? Certainly.

Puzzle: CM Series by Colour Tones

This. The order would make it a lot more solvable, instead of "Guess the colour I'm thinking of" :S It's a nice idea though. And whith all that said, is 2nd row, far left series 9?
  20. There was rumour of this for the last series. I think it turned out to be smaller boxes that could be placed by a cash til/register. But these boxes were provided empty and were instead filled by taking packets from a usual size box.
  21. Interesting. I don't think people have discussed this idea. I'm sure TLG are more than aware that people 'feel before they buy' and a token (maybe accompanying the tick sheet) would be more likely to increase sales (or increase people ripping open packets in store...) as you would have no idea if the sky-diver you didn't want actually had a Mr.Gold winning ticket in... Has there been any official statement as to who/what/how he's being distributed? Now that series 10 has hit stores I would have expected a big announcement.
  22. I'd be interested to know the distribution (per box) for this series. Hopefully they've stuck to putting more of the traditional 'army builders' in, like series 9. When might we see Whitefangs review?
