Pirates Mafia III - Day Four

The scum must be enjoying this so much. They know I'm town and they are happy that no other townies are joining the discussion. For everyone, but especially @Peter Lyon since you brought it up before. In addition to the reasons I've already given, the other reason I picked Vincent to claim to is as follows. No one reached out to me N3. I knew I was being suspected as scum by most players. I knew reaching out to Vincent was a risk. But, if by some crazy chance he turned out to be town then I hoped to convince him that we were on the same team and to get him to lay off the heat. I knew if I could convince just one player of my innocence, Vincent (because of how much he controls the narrative) would have the best chance of helping me get through today. Instead, he went right for my jugular. Honestly it was a hail-mary move to begin with. But what did I have to loose? You all thought I was scum before today started. I just hope Vincent has overplayed his hand enough for you all to see how scummy he's been this whole game.

And before anyone twist what I meant, let me clarify. Vincent's argument about him being town if I flip town is clearly meant to lead to the conclusion that if I flip scum he should also be trusted as town. I was stating his argument plainly since he likes to hide it behind a lot of text.

You said it first. Anyone care to take Vincent up on his own statement?

If one of the blockers is scum they could just coordinate with Vincent to block him. And if he's not the killer that would make him look faultless in your eyes. Just watch out, because Vincent is very good and making other people look the other way from him. As a townie I wanted every piece of information available to my team possible. If anyone made claims about targeting Andrew, or Andrew made a claim about being targeted on N1 I wanted it out there for the town to know. Clearly no one needed to be told, again, that Jean was murdered. But that's who I tracked so I'm giving you the honest results. This is great scum logic. Bolded is the WIFOM tactic. This another play to make yourself look town no matter what happens. If you lynch me and I flip town, then you claim you must be town. Where the proof of that is you conveniently leave out. If you lynch me and I flip scum, then you must town since you've been calling for my lynch. Either way, you are trying to build a case that you are town no matter what happens. Ping! Scum tactic. My behavior has been suspicious. I've admitted it and I can understand why their is a case against me. But, my actions have been consistent with my claims. There are no loopholes in my story because I've been telling the truth. Whereas your actions have been suspicious. I hate to parrot Daniel, but not knowing your role or who you've targeted during the nights gives us nothing to go on but your word. As a townie I feel its my duty to help the rest of the town get closer to finding the scum. It seems certain that either Daniel or Vincent is scum. I'm throwing all my chips in on Vincent. After I flip town you can then lynch him. But even then, if by some miracle we are both town, you will know for certain that Daniel is scum. I just hope there enough townies left by that point to still win.

Are there any other town members paying attention? Do you see how Vincent and Daniel continue to control the narrative? If no one else has their own opinions and is happy to just follow V or D into the sunset then just vote for the day to end early and get this over with. If I can't help you through my living, then let me help you by my lynching. I'm anxious for you to see that I flip town so you can go after the real scum.

Pirates Mafia III - Day Four

As much as a person can be at this point I am convinced that Vincent and/or Aiden are scum. Since I keep pointing out their scumminess it seemed a likely possibility that I would be targeted for murder last night. I didn't claim D3 since I wasn't going to be lynched. I was ready to if the heat had stayed on me. Here's some more thoughts on Vincent. He's posted long lists to try to get people to go after me twice now. Here's the first one: and here's the second: Notice how 5 of the items on the 2nd list are the same as the first list. Which I already answered. Why does he keep bringing up old arguments? Because he doesn't have enough new information to use to try to convince you all. He saw that the town wanted to lynch 1 of the 3 blocked players. So he's trying to turn the attention onto me to keep it off him. But he doesn't have enough reasons so he keeps rehashing the old ones. Add to that the fact that I've also answered #6 and #7 of his list and you can see that he is just desperate to try to lynch me.

My fate seems pretty well sealed. But I'd like to point out that if I were scum, wouldn't I be putting up more of a fight? I know that in my lynching I can still help the town discover the true scum. I don't expect this argument to change any votes. But hopefully it will lend more credibility to my observations after I'm dead. I'm convinced that either Daniel or Vincent is scum. Vincent has pushed so hard for my lynch for days so he seems the most likely candidate to lynch next. I will be very disappointed if you don't lynch him tomorrow.

For the record, I role claimed to him because I thought I had a good chance of getting murdered last night. I wanted my info to be available to the town if I died. I gave it to Daniel and Vincent since they have low odds of being on the same team. Could I have picked someone else? Sure, but I wanted to minimize how many people I shared my role with that night and Daniel and Vincent seemed like the best odds. Vincent and Aiden have been gunning for me since Day One. (Watch Vincent ask for an itemized list of examples ) If they are scum as I assume, then they knew if they kept the heat on me long enough that one of these days they could get the town to lynch me. It makes sense to lynch someone who was blocked, though of course I wish we were picking someone different. When I flip town, you all should lynch Vincent. If he turns up scum then you should immediately lynch Aiden. If there are scum left after that I would focus on Emmett or Robin since they have been caught possibly lying. If Vincent isn't scum, then you should immediately lynch Daniel. I've been in the wrong place at the wrong time. But everything I've claimed has been verified. And really if I were scum, would the actions I've taken or the claims I've made make sense? I hope the town sees that it would be a better effort to lynch one of those who has been less open or less honest.

I read back through Day One and saw that my suspicions were not as clearly stated. But they were there. Let me refresh your memory: His explanations for why he is defending Vincent seem too simple for a townie looking to contribute. Granted, he may have just gotten caught up in the debate early on and is now looking to defend his choices. But it doesn't look that way to me. I bolded my words to help make it more obvious for you. And here's the response to Day One from early on in Day Two: Here is what you said at the end of day 1: My original and follow up reason for poke-voting was to get data, i.e. people talking so we could analyse what they said later. Here's the specific comment I made first: I don't understand what else you want. The point I made was talking is good. The point you are laying out is that I said getting people to talk is good. Where is the disagreement? All of this insistence on getting answers to questions I've already answered is a great scum play to make a townie look guilty. You, Vincent, ping very hard as scum to me. So yeah, from the beginning I've been suspicious of you. You have conveniently ignored your own advice many times and stated why people ping you without listing bullet points. But to humor you, I will list some. 1. You insist on getting answers from players even when they have already answered. Want proof? Go read this again. 2. You have been inconsistent and hide it behind text walls. Proof is here. 3. Every time someone hints you might be scum you get ultra-defensive. 4. You have worked to control the narrative from Day One. Anyone who questions you is wrong. Anyone who states an argument you find disagreeable is wrong. Then you insist that they defend themselves against you ad nauseam. Obviously we are all trying to weed out the scum, but the way you have powered through each day seeking to control everything being said pings so loud as scum.

Here we go again. Taking the smallest things and trying to make them big. Really, can others not see through this? Wouldn't you like to know? Based on your behavior and all my interactions with you I have 0 reason to trust you and every reason to think you are scum. So you can just keep trying to guess the answer. You've made it clear what you think of me. Why don't you just place your vote and be down with it? Why are you playing this pretend game of wait-and-see? Maybe because you are scum. You're talking like you were part of the conversation when you weren't. Unless of course Vincent and you have been sharing all PMs from the beginning since you're scum buddies. I called it Day One, I'm calling it again now. Vincent and Aiden are scum.

This is the 2nd time you've shrugged off the idea of focusing on the 3 of us who were blocked. Ping! Why? Because this entire game your play has been about mis-direction. I pointed out yesterday (D3) that you seem to nit-pick things that don't matter. Drawing huge attention to things that are either made-up or minor. You have attacked me every day, often over things I gave clear answers to. You and Daniel both did this D1 leading to the text wall war. You have worked really hard to control the narrative all game. This is helpful if you are town because it gives us townies some focus and direction. The dangers of it if you are scum are obvious. You even admit there is a lot of risk if I'm scum trying to make a false claim. If I was any kind of experienced scum player this would be a stupid move. I won't deny that I've been in the wrong place at the wrong time a lot this game. As others have pointed out, voting for Joshua D1 when it didn't matter then hammering him D2 has bad optics. Targeting Jean D2 as Voyeur has super bad optics. But if I was really scum, why would I keep trying to make myself look worse? See my answer above. I think it's wise to look at the 3 people blocked, and yes I know that includes me! But I also think we need to strongly consider the 3 blockers. So easy for one of them to be scum and trying to look like they are helping the town. This should come as no surprise as I've been calling out my suspicion of him from day one, but Vincent just keeps coming back with more pings! Vote: Vincent Denis

Some random musings that don't have specific relevance to the questions going around right now, but ones that are relevant to the game as a whole. Especially for those who played Pirates II, we know that Hinckley enjoyed playing the noob and making everyone think he was brand new to the game. We also saw Robert Morgan claim to be more familiar with mafia.gg. When Day 1 turned into the nightmare that was Daniel/Vincent Text Walls my first instinct was that Vincent was Robert incarnate and Daniel was Hinckley. It wasn't until Daniel called Vincent "Hinckley" that I began to wonder if I had gotten them switched. But know I'm wondering if my first instincts were accurate. What if Daniel is Hinckley just pretending to be the Mafia.gg player that was Robert Morgan? If both Vincent and Daniel are scum, they could be playing an elaborate scum play by pretending to be each other to throw us off. I've said before that this is a possibility albeit an improbable one. I just wanted to see if anyone else shared my thoughts. No matter who you are, you've been playing this game too long If I was scum and were attempting to kill Daniel, why would I tell him that he was my intended target? Sure, it almost makes sense to tell it to you if I thought you were a watcher and I was trying to cover my tracks. Or I could have just kept silent and told you nothing if I was scum, leaving you to wonder if I were just town with a minor role. But instead I told you and Daniel, and now everyone else. Why would I do that if I were really scum? I did. A few posts before this. Role claims list (let me know if I missed anything): Fred Dumont - Town BlockerPeter Lyon - No claimDaniel Lucas - Town Jail-keeperTrenton Monette - No claimJustin Reynaud - Town VoyeurEmmett Ware - Minor RoleAndrew Laurent - Town VanillaizerAiden Leon - RoleFabien Bellamy - No claimVincent Denis - Power RoleRobin Tremblay - Knight/Protector

Alright, I'm Joe. Sorry I didn't get here sooner. My magic wee-fee box stopped working unexpectedly this morning and I had to resolve it before I could join in the discussion. I PM'd both Daniel and Vincent with my role last night. I wanted to make sure at least one person had the data in case I was murdered. I don't trust either of them. But I figured the odds were astronomical that both of them were scum so that's why I chose them. I am the town Voyeur. I can see what action was done to a person, but not who did it. I targeted Andrew the first night and was told no one else had targeted him. I targeted Jean the second night and of course found out he had been murdered. No other action was taken against him. I targeted Daniel last night and was told I was unsuccessful so I assume I was the 3rd person blocked. That would mean that Fred blocked me if everyone is telling the truth. I'm sharing this knowing that the heat is on for everyone blocked last night. I hope me being open and honest about my role helps us townies to root out the scum. There's a lot to think about so I don't have any accusations yet. Let me analyze all the claims for a bit first.

It gets so quiet during the night here in the fort. Is no one on watch duty? Or do we leave that to the NPCs?
