Uncanny, especially since my Davros is an old picture too, he currently has the Darth Vader head. Mind you, I also added a cut-down trans-blue 1x1 round piece on his head for his robotic eye, and I've also updated my Dalek design to be absolutely SUPERIOR! Anyway, my very first Dalek design: And, Supreme Dalek - "THE VAULT WILL BE PURGED!" Batbrick Away!

That is beautiful, I love the way you've done the 'wings' and the engines are very, very smexy. As others have mentioned, it absolutely scream Blacktron, a very badass Blacktron too. Batbrick Away!

Have Action Themes Become Extreme?
Batbrick replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'd argue that while the James Bond influence is there, it's not so prominent in influence that a child will see the two as the same, when not that many kids of around 6 even know James Bond that well (I was lucky). Certainly, the theme is really escapist spy fun, just like Castle is escapist medieval fantasy. Batbrick Away! -
Very nice! I once had an alternate-moc spree a while back and this blows my stuff out of the water! The hands on the back and front are a great touch too, and the colour organisation works well. Batbrick Away!

A very shallow opinion for me, but I love licensed sets simply because they usually have great parts, great colours and fleshie figs. So I'm all for more! (Though a return to the Batman theme would be so exciting I may slip into a coma willingly just to get them sooner consciously) Batbrick Away!

Aww, they're quite cute! Is 'Otter' a typo or a injoke pun though? Either way I love the detail on them, and rather accurate to the figs too! The hair works well too, I'm surprised it didn't look too 'noodley' but it doesn't. Keep 'em in a clean place MetroiD! Batbrick Away!

Some reviews are so brutal I found myself laughing so hard it hurt. Quotes like "I believe Shyamalan can ruin the world" maybe overdoing it though. But what other films do you like? We need to be able to trust you're opinion A shame its apparently so bad though, with the news of Avatar: The Legend of Korra though it doesn't hit the way it would've. I'm just looking forward to what the animation team bring next. Batbrick Away!

I had to laugh at how President Weiss just cared about getting the ship, that's come up before. Romero also caring the the icecream first, these people have serious priority issues! Hope the move goes okay then, eagerly awaiting the next part. Batbrick Away!

Great little creation there MacK, I always enjoy your mocs when I happen upon them! The haphazard colour scheme with the white and grey is appropriately used for nice camouflage. I love how many troops can fit in the back too, good use of space. Batbrick Away!

Awesome find! Thanks for sharing, my favourites are the Ice Planet magnetizer and Blacktron II magnetizer, the colour schemes really stand out and work well. Truly a formidable fleet there, though I'm sure the M-Tron guys are a bit annoyed at everyone copying them Batbrick Away!

That is brilliant! The use of tire pieces is ingenious! The creature really looks effective and goes beyond the whole "Looks silly because its Lego" barrier. The simplicity of the detailing really works in its favour, something I often fail on is trying to pack so much detail in that nothing stands out. Here the Wolfpack figure and monster works well. Nothing negative for me to say Batbrick Away!

Fair enough, I believe you, great minds think alike then Just wanted to hear your word on it mate. It was mostly the arm bit that I was interested in. Looking forward to seeing any other Doctor Who designs you come up with it you make them Peppermint M: Don't worry, I wasn't trying to turn this into a pointless argument, but I can see how you thought that since my post was quite jerk-ish. I meant to change it last night but I ended up having to go out last night. So Sorry about that. Also, I know how a lot of people try to make Davros, yet find it hard without making the base too absurdly large. Here's my compromise, I'm actually really happy with it given the near impossibility of having a base consistent with the other Daleks: Batbrick Away!
-
Ecxuse me, but those are very eerily similar to my Daleks I made early last year: I find it hard to believe there isn't a form of influence there, unless yours were made earlier? But given you've even got the same 'arms' attached the same way, I'm a little suspicious. Batbrick.

Seriously, try and watch some anime, just about any anime. The characters are Japanese for the most part, but you'd swear they were as western as apple pie (don't quote me on that apple pie thing). You know why? Because unlike western animation, they don't immediately look at a character in an anime and identify their nationality by their skin tone. Regardless, while ATLA is NOT an anime, it is heavily inspired by it, so I don't get how you could think Ty Lee - the girl with the Japanese name, who comes from the nation heavily inspired by Meiji Japan, and herself is a member of that nation's upper class - is white. And having many ethnicities in a film doesn't change the fact that the central characters - the ones who save the day - are whitewashed, it just makes the message even more potentially offensive. And do not bring up the "fantasy" card to justify whitewashing, the argument just collapses. That said, I agree to an extent with Aanchir and Pigbrick's views, and I am still myself excited for the film even though I refuse to justify it a movie ticket. And I don't think for one second that Shyamalan himself was personally ensuring the racist overtones of the film. With that being said, while I doubt this was all created obviously, the production company has still shown enormous amounts of ignorance, from the offensive casting calls to the specific denials of any relation with them, one year after they were made. The whole debacle is a big product of ignorance. That ignorance continues into the film too, where Katara's outfit has the wrong side over the top, which is going to make some Asian audiences laugh when they see that she's wearing it the way she would traditionally be buried like. When I first saw a preview pic of this Teahouse Righteous Squid I thought it was good but could do some work. I can't believe I even thought that now, everything in this teahouse is just excellently thought out. The use of colours in particularly could have been disastrous but thankfully you've done this very well. The hanging signs, little step up to the door and lamppost are just some of the excellent details. The interior is even better, the bar section and upper tables in particular caught my eye, and the use of space is used incredibly well. The little timer in the bar and various plants an bits used for exotic drinks is a great detail that I love. The red/black floor squares with intersecting white shows excellent planning and is pulled off very well. And the statues are very well thought out, particularly the white owl and spear man. The owner's section with swiveling chair and map, and other section with Mayan idol and piranha tank are also very nice, and don't suffer from trying t cram so much in like my creations. And the Professor's story had me laughing, a really sadistic moment cut away to reveal he only wanted the hair! Batbrick Away!

The Penguin's Batman Minifigures. )
Batbrick replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
And this time I'll be keeping up! Will try ot reply to your reply soon friend! Nora Fries: Fantastic, I really love the pale, and obviously asleep look you've given her. Perfect hair choice too, you seem to have a skill with that Summer Gleeson: Very nice! For some reason, Summer Gleeson was one of my favourite regulars on BTAS, she just seemed to have a good rounded personality beyond "tv presenter", something that BTAS was great at doing with its original characters. I like the hair and face you've chosen, and while the suit looks good I think you should close the gap on it a bit as it looks a bit too wide. Dr Harleen Quinzel: You've made a Harley before haven't you? Either way, I really like this design, the blue eyes and and red/black hair bond are great touches. Janet Van Dorn: Wow! I never thought of adapting this character, she was very good in The trial, did she appear in any other episodes? The skeptical glasses face looks very accurate, and the suit looks fantastic barring a smudge. An excellent batch friend, I await the next! Batbrick Away! -
Huh, nice little special effect with the Dash skull there KDog, I didn't notice the first time I quickly went through the comic and it startled me the second time! Nice and subtle, very neat. And that 180 degrees head shot continues to be disturbing, despite the fact all Lego figs can do that. A testament to the quality of your shots I'd say, which are definitely vastly improved since you started the whole thing. And wow, maybe I just wasn't thinking enough, but for some reason I was caught off-guard with the stealing the body thing, particularly that they don't kill people that we know yet, just take the already dead. I'm loving how this arc is shaping up! Batbrick Away!

Watched the two new eps recently and I have to say I'm impressed! It seems they are allowed to get away with more dirty jokes on Comedy Central, though unfortunately it seems the ones they went with weren't very inspired. I mean, V-GINY? Really? You're going with that? Oh well, apart from that it seems like normal Futurama to me, and while it the episodes weren't exactly classic, they still got quite a few belly laughs from me and are an enormous step up from the movies. I'd say we've got very little to worry about. Batbrick Away!

Weird, the look of it is very cool too, and the design within intrigues me. I'm gonna go ahead and say its just a set of instructions and not a real set, but if I have the pieces I'll be sure to make one! Batbrick Away!

Wow! Not quite as good as your Sabi in my mind, but still plenty enough to make me consider giving up mocing altogether out of jealousy Your use of those trans green spheres for the rocket pack is ingenious Righteous Squid, and the green colour is great, I'm a sucker for green mechs and made an unsuccessful one a while back. I love the way you've done the arm guns too, with the little exhaust vents on each side, there's a lot of detail that really shows off the work put into it. Batbrick Away!
-
Amazing creation Righteous Squid, though from you that's hardly surprising! The enclosed cockpit with fair space is my favourite part, but the smaller arms and poseable legs also look fantastic. I can't really find fault in it, it looks a little similar to the Organimech design I made a few years back, except, y'know, good The level of detail really adds authenticity to the mech look as well, from the little bits at the back to the piping to the arm guns, it all really works together. Batbrick Away!

Great little setup and I love the fun use of the Wookie here. The base is my favourite part though, looking very clean, having a lightsabre and yet somehow still looking appropriate in a Castle creation! Batbrick Away!

Aww, that's adorable! Awesome that you do a lot that! Agreed, fleshies I find to be much better, and while I wouldn't like them to completely replace yellows, I wouldn't mind them being either dominant or atleast a better portion of figs. I can only hope to do the same one day! Anyway great mods Righteous Squid, the enhanced detail and height make the bank look much more imposing, real and very "Gotham-ish" without compromising the more outlandish and generally fun tone of your Batman world, which I do greatly admire! Sorry about the late post too, but rest assured I've looked at this several times, I've just been a terrible mix of lazy and busy recently. Batbrick Away!

Gulp indeed! Still, nothing will deter me from that Hogwarts set, its parts and figs are perfect for Wayne Manor and other Batman creations! I love the head too, definitely looking forward to the uses that new cape brings too. Batbrick Away!

Ah, that makes all the Hollywood whitewashing okay, thanks for explaining that to me. I guess when all my friends of different nationalities complain that the characters that should be portrayed by their nationalities go to the white people on the block, I'll just tell them that it isn't about diversity, its about if they can act well. I'm sure that's exactly how we managed to overcome racial issues in the past, gotcha. (I actually get what you mean, which is why I dislike the Racebending community a bit because they go out of their way to troll other sites and make parts of the film that aren't racist look as such. And the film will probably be enjoyable. But I won't be seeing it, simply because at the end of the day regardless of intentions the casting and design of the film has been enormously offensive to pretty much everyone, and especially to those whose nationalities and culture missed out on being included in a film that was pretty much based on a show built around them)
