This is one of the most bizarre Lego themes in a long time. Three waves in and the aesthetics are all over the place, the villains make no sense, and the entire storyline is just wacky.

This kind of feels like the way Disney handled the sequel trilogy for Star Wars.

I don't really see this wave being successful. Unless they already have a 4th wave planned, I guess that was it for Hidden Side. Those sets clearly had a much lower budget than the first two waves, which indicates that the line is due to wrap up soon.

I really hope the Castle turns out to be the redeeming quality of this wave.

Maybe it's a case like Nexo Knights and we get one more final wave? I still hope they atleast have a conclusion, I hate the fact that Nexo Knights didn't have a conclusion at all.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the boxes for the S13 sets? Sure they look good but they're really distracting

Isn't that a good thing? When you enter the store and see it, it will catch your eye. Kids will love it and it's not like the Hidden Side boxes debate.

Meh I don’t see it. A fire truck of sorts with a brick-built evil black figure? Can’t see it being a massive seller at the likely 59.99 price point

Well at least this ends the matter of your “source” when you first joined.

Yeah... No more comment with that. I cut all I had with him.

Anyway, I hope the line does well...

If this is how Hidden Side ends... I hope it gets some closure with the episodes.

Look at the dorsal fin rudder...it has a printed/stickered picture of JB, so guess the title must refer to the fact it just belongs to her (like most other vehicles) and the others have borrowed it in the new storyline.m, whatever that is.

Maybe I’m letting my initial impression disappointment cloud things here, but I’m getting Nexo wave 4 vibes here, in that the story doesn’t really hang together, the sets are a bit meh, the villains aren’t great, and the theme is done. At least give us a fantastic Castle, please!!!

I think the Slenderman set will be a top seller. Also, this means we will never get Lady E as a minifig, probably. Hopefully 2021 gives us Lovecraftian horror for Hidden Side!

Hey, so has everyone noticed the weird blue vortex featured prominently in all the S13 sets’ box arts? It looks like either a portal or the opening of a cave, right?

I took a closer look at the back of the Journey set, and it looks to me like there’s a boarded-up cave entrance at the upper rear - behind the troll guy’s fancy sword. And it looks like it’s a chunk of a board game, right? You can see the white squares leading up to the ‘entrance’.

I think this set is, literally, player characters (IE the Ninja) journeying to the Dungeon and entering it through the boarded-up entrance.

It's the opening of a cave.

Well, you asked for the word Demon and there it is...

Speed Champions also had a Demon model

    Fair enough.

Also, can please a mod change the name of the thread into Monkie Kid instead of Monkey Kid? Since for some reason Lego changed it to Monkie, probably for trademark.

They have used the word "demon" in the past. An example that comes to mind is 9092 Crazy Demon from the Racers theme.

Yeah, but not for actual paranormal entities. For example the lava monsters.

According to the novel, she is the wife of Bull Demon King

Wait, if that's true then does this mean that Red Son is their son? And Bull Demon King is gigantic... How d-did they do that? *huh*

Y'know what? I don't even want to think about it.

The blue rubber bands at the bottom of the Spinjitzu Burst sets, presumably to make the figure "Burst" out of the spinner, is really off-putting, unfortunately. Reminds me of the earlier X-Wings that had massive blue exposed rubber bands, before they fixed it by hiding them in the newer models. Other than those oddities, the sets themselves and particularly the box art look really interesting. The FireStone Mech is one of the best mechs we've seen from the theme, but unfortunately a bit overshadowed by the colossal Monkie Kid mechs leaked yesterday. As for Journey to the Skull Dungeons, I think it's a case of the box art making it look a lot better than it actually is. Still waiting for a better, clearer look at what exactly is included, but the build doesn't look too special. Looking forward to seeing the rest though; from the leaks, the large skull fortress and some of the other sets look much more interesting.

The Skull Sorcerer dungeon is truly impressive, it leaked but there is a reason why it was not posted on instagram...
