  1. This set sounds really nice and I am excited to see actual pictures of it. While I am happy for the 2 officers I wonder if they are just regular officers and we can also get Moff Tarkin or another named officer among the 4 unkown figures or if a named officer character is only possible among those 2 officers. I don't know how others feel about this, but I would really enjoy if the minifigure selection in the Death Star playset was all Empire-based, just like how it was all Rebel-based in the Yavin 4 set. I really don't want another farmboy Luke or Leia inside. I guess stormtrooper Han and Luke would work as you can just get a helmet and make it a regular stormtrooper, but I would really like if it was all Empire. On the topic of the anniversary figure it really makes more sense if R2-KT is not an anniversary figure and just an additional figure with Jedi Bob for example with the entire set being charity based. Gentle Giant statue, Mattel's Hot Wheel and HASBRO's figure of R2-KT all had some sort of charity involved with it from Make a Wish to UNICEF so I really hope LEGO does it as well.
  2. Because a lot of people wanted this kind of set for years and now it's locked behind a $160 paywall and also locked behind 14 countries that have an official LEGO store that even offers this in any kind of satisfactory amount. It's also a set you want multiple of opposed to something like the homestead kitchen. Battle pack kind of set people asked you to make for years as GWP is mind boggling. How many kids will get $160 worth of sets to hit this treshold on a random day in May?
  3. If it's a battle pack I don't think many people would mind, add a OOM commander and a STAP inside and you are good with a similar part count as the 501st set from 2020. Would rather have this build than the AT-ST sized AT-RTs. There are also no rules on strick in-universe vehicles anymore with mechs, dark Falcon and jedi bob whatever ship.
  4. I think TPM has a lot of desirable and missing things, but unfortunately (depends who you ask) it's a victim of LEGO's preference to celebrate their own anniversary instead that falls on the same year which prevents any kind of real or heavy emphasis on it while other movies like RotS do not have that. Excited to see what they have in store for RotS, if anything for it. Droid GWP is a great set, but a bad GWP. Should have been in a battle pack or a smaller set as so many droid army builders waited for something like this and got a crappy battle pack mix for double the price instead. Didn't really see people interact about it in a larger scale apart of a few instagram post comments I saw, but people seems to be split on it and I can understand both sides of the argument. Don't think I will be going for it as I only need the Kelleran set. I could technically get the red gunship I am missing or AT-TE, but I am kinda thinking of going for an older sith infiltrator instead. Tie looks nice, but I am not interested in a non-minifigure scale UCS set unless it's a playset or figures are worth it and this pilot can recoup me just around $40-$50 when it retires. Polybag looks really cool though.
  5. No, I do not, you misunderstood my point. I was merely talking about sales of UCS sets in case LEGO decides to remove minifigures from UCS sets specifically. Obviously no one in their right mind would go to rebrickable for a regular set that comes with figures and molded animals and printed pieces and deal with shipping and other things. They are not, but sometimes they are the deciding factor. Idk if you were in the community in 2010, but everyone complained about Obi-Wans starfighter not having a figure inside and despite costing only $100 it sold so badly that we didn't get a prequel UCS set till we voted it in 11 years later. In a world where Venator has no minifigures and set drops from $650 to $640 I can get TanBrickz's rebrickable set for $400 and hassle with bricklink sellers or I can pick 1 out of 2 models from any custom set seller like Republic Bricks (first person I found when I googled custom sets) where he would ship me the parts as well for $430 or $500 depending on the model that also has a full interior. (I would not actually do that, just an example)(I also do not condone his behavior). Another point I also made is about not waiting. How many people wanted UCS AT-AT since 1999? They could have gotten the Raskolnikov version for $250-$300 or the Brick Vault version (never had it so idk the price). How many people would go for that set if they knew LEGO might make it, but it also wouldn't include minifigures or anything special inside? That's a fair point and you are most likely right because sets like UCS tie fighter are in the top 5 best sold UCS sets ever and it only included 1 figure.
  6. That makes more sense. This is correct, but do you really want LEGO not putting an exclusive Boba Fett in the UCS Slave 1 set and just lowering the overall price of the set for $5? Isn't that a huge downgrade? How exactly will consumers be able to justify these insane UCS set prices if they don't have anything cool or exclusive inside? What's stopping consumers from never buying UCS sets ever again and just going on rebrickable and picking up much better display sets for much cheaper without even having to wait for LEGO to make builds they want?
  7. Don't you think it's a little excessive to eliminate things cause they spark debate? If I am being realistic figures are adding an insane value to UCS sets so I am struggling to understand where you got the $5 value from. We also know the exclusive tie pilot from the 75095: Tie fighter is currently at $50 which is 1/4th of it's $200 price point. Would it be the craziest thing in the world for both people that only care about the display set and people that only care about figures to want one more figure inside to either recoup the cost even more or to have one more cool figure in their collection? If I just do a surface level research I can see that: 2018 Y-Wing was $200 and now you can sell just 2 figures from it for $120. You got the UCS set build, double VIP points, buildable BB-8 polybag and maybe even cash back on your credit card for only $80. 2017 Snowspeeder came out for $200, now figures are also at $130. People that got it also got a buildable R2-D2 polybag, double VIP points etc for $70 purely cause of the minifigure value. 2015 Slave 1 was $200 and Boba Fett from it is now at what $120 plus you got a Yularen polybag GWP that's now $70. Both midi-scaled ships and helmets don't need figures inside, but how many people would actually go for those sets if they had a figure inside? And how many years before this subtheme of sets get cancelled because of it? They can hit nostalgia with midi-scale Falcon, Venator or Star Destroyer and have profits from them protect other 2 sets they can try to push in that same wave, but after that they are done with an entire wave that won't sell.
  8. That's exactly why I am terrified to see how they will do Captain Enoch and especially Imperial Super Commandos.
  9. You are 100% right. I am a massive TCW and PT fan, but Stormtroopers offer so much more when it comes to versatility and creativity. I really hope we get a stormtrooper bp, but I am not a fan of the new stormtrooper helmet mold and it's kinda getting annoying to have to get out of my way to pick up older helmets. I like MandR personally even though he doesn't know how to army build. For me he is just a very passionate fan voicing his opinions and his work ethic and effort he makes into trying to make the community better is respectable. I don't mind helmet holes at all, but him talking about quality of some of the figures we got recently like Fox, Fives or Vaughn are very valid, love him or hate him you kinda have to admit it. Even here most of us are incredibly passionate and have a different opinion on anything from stickers in sets, Maul's eyes to Stormtrooper helmet mold and you just won't please everyone no matter what stance you take, but that will get you hate as a public figure. Jang just might communicate his feelings in a more mature grounded way which is something that comes with years and experience while people like me will just react emotionally.
  10. For someone that lives, breathes and loves Star Wars their entire life, warhammer won't really cut it. At least not for me. There is no greater joy for me than building an army of anything from a piece of media I love, give them some kind of lore, proper leadership, a story... My mandalorian army is set in a period where Maul and Vizsla had an alliance and then I reinforce and expand on them based on my budget. I can add clone wars AATs that Dooku gifted Death Watch, I can add just a squad or an important character like Savage Opress. It can be $5 or it can be $5000. Things you can do with stormtroopers and how creative you can be with planets they are located on, leadership they are under to battles from rebels to OT and the Mandalorian is unreal. Sadly youtubers kinda ruined this creative art form and turned it into aimlessly stacking figures on baseplates (I like to call is Solid Brixing) by buying as many battle packs as they can without any goal, canon or logic in mind causing hate and arguments between the two groups.
  11. Well you don't really have any data to back those claims. It's just arguing for the sake of arguing I feel like. There is no way to know how many 7 year olds even bought the set or if jet trooper inside had that kind of an impact or that people wouldn't buy the set if instead of a jet trooper we got AT-RT driver. Why wouldn't they cater to 10 thousand passionate fans asking for something for 9 years? One single person building a 501st legion had to buy 3072 sets by himself. 100 people that replicated the 332nd army had to get 48 sets by themselves. Would 7 year olds all given up on332nd battle pack because one Maul's super commando was included instead of that innacurate Vaughn?
  12. We never really wanted 4 of the same figure. Most clone army builders want 3 as all armies can be divided by 3, from squad being 9 troopers, platoon at 36 to battallion at 576 and legion at 9216. We have been requesting for a 501st battle since 2011 Umbaran arc. People wanted 3 regular troopers and an officer/named clone from the arc/sergeant/squad leader/at-rt driver. We haven't seen a jet trooper till the last season of the clone wars aired in 2020. That was 9 years after asking, pleading, begging and spamming LEGO. No one asked or even knew what jet trooper is. Despite years of pleas and even the support of prominent voices like MandRproductions from like December of 2018, LEGO didn't really listen to these requests. Instead, in response to the overwhelming demand for a 501st battle pack, LEGO decided to kinda screw us over and released a $30 set that, while not a traditional battle pack, was seen by many as a suitable compromise. However, this set lacked the key elements fans have been asking for 9 years. While a big portion of fans and youtubers were content with the set and even proud they made it happen, the rest of us felt betrayed and disappointed so we switched our approach and opted to leave constructive feedback through proper channels like LAN and product feedback. We also tried to ask LAN members for help, but would just get banned and blocked because we didn't call the $30 set a battle pack. This approach was another fake sucess and while we got an actual battle pack in 2023 it had 0 regular troopers inside and just 1 useful officer. Furthermore, the change in torsos to every fig in the battle pack made it impossible to match the appearance of regular troopers we wanted and it was too late to grab more $30 sets cause the set retired. After all these setbacks, it doesn't really look like we will get what we asked for ever as more and more people that don't have the connection for 501st are getting sick of it and LEGO keeps screwing us up by releasing things we wanted like Fives in a $55 set from the original trilogy.
  13. I understand your frustration, but we never really got what we wanted. If LEGO makes a stormtrooper battle pack, but ignores cries of thousands of fans demanding that family guy helmet mold is changed, there will still be a demand for it and they will not be happy. Same way we asked for a 501st battle pack for $10-$15 since 2011 and then in 2020 got a $30 set with innacurate and oversized builds and a uselles jet trooper that youtubers manipulated us into calling a battle pack. This is not about not being grateful for what we got, it's about acknowledging that listening to the community means comprehending our desires, not just selectively hearing us.
  14. As a massive speeder fan I 100% agree. Apart from those 2 you named I also like the Mandalorian speeder from trouble on Tatooine, but Hoth and Endor ones are superior to anything else in the past 4 years.
  15. Barc speeder is much bigger than I expected, very disappointed with it. Still buying the set, but it seems like they can't make a prequel era speeder anymore for the life of them from the Bad Batch shuttle, 501st set, $30 clone droid "battle pack" all the way to this. Fans have been complaining about it and leaving negative feedback on the sets with them, but LEGO just doesn't care. How do you make it perfectly in a battle pack 13 years ago and now start doing them like this? Don't mind the price, but including an extra clone or a naboo security/guard would go a long way. Don't mind helmet holes. Pram is really cute. Haven't changed my mind about the Sith Infiltrator. Figure selection is horrible, build is horrible, clunky, blocky and something is seriously wrong with the hood. I do not want Saw Guerrera and don't want to go through the hassle of selling it. Maul's speeder looks like a brown duck with design being so off. Even if I am buying this set with someone that wants Saw and they offer me $30 for it, I still don't want this ugly set for $40. Most likely just bricklinking Fives and maybe getting the imperial officer set as I am a sucker for officers. Voting with my wallet against all the anniversary sets like I did for the 20th anniversary. They should just celebrate the phantom menace anniversary instead of random nonsense and it's a hill I will die on. Cal Kestis should have been in the BD-1 droid set if you already don't want to give fans a vehicle from the game. You could have thrown in Fives and Saw anywhere.
  16. Yes you can have it, but if the figure is the main draw then one of those two won't sell. Mando was in 10 sets since 2019 and most of them were super affordable and Rex was only in one $650 set since 2013. Let's say in 2025 LEGO makes Queen Amidala after 12 years of fans waiting and asking for her. She ends up in a $10 Naboo Royal Starship micro fighter and at the same time in a $90 Gungan sub with Obi, Qui-Gon and Jar-Jar. There is no way that sub set is selling well with that micro fighter on the market unless they put Boss Nass or some other highly desirable figure in it.
  17. There is not a single example I could find where the micro fighter figure was as wanted as Rex and then at the same time available in a bigger set. I could not imagine the Justifier, Imperial Light Cruiser or even AT-TE doing well with Cad Bane, Moff Gideon and Commander Cody in micro fighters at the same time and I would even argue AT-TE with 4 clones, spider droid and 3 battle droids is a bigger draw than Y-Wing and whatever else they can put in it.
  18. R2-KT has a beautiful backstory and I hope at least a dollar from the set is going to some kind of cancer charity or something similar. If not then this figure could have been thrown in any the Clone Wars set or the Force Awakens set like most other anniversary figures.
  19. Kelleran Beq's speeder looks really good, a bit oversized for my liking. Not sure if it's like that because of the box image or if it feels/looks different in hand. Kelleran's fig is amazing. Happy we are getting a pram for Grogu. 2x 501st troopers look great, but I can understand some people are getting sick of them. Will either get 9 of them for another squad or just switch helmets with one of my 12 captain Vaughns. Definitely getting this set, but I think the value for $30 could be better. If I compare it to the Mandalorian Forge and the Trouble on Tatooine which are also the Mandalorian sets at $30 I am pretty happy getting less than 80 pieces, but getting an extra 1 figure. If I compare it to other Star Wars sets though like the current $30 battle pack where you get 1 accurate vehicle (STAP), 5 droids and 4 clones it feels it's lacking in the minifigure department and they couldn't even give us printed pieces. Either way I think all the Mandalorian $30 sets are some of the best sets we got in the last 5 years.
  20. Sith infiltrator was the only set I looked forward to the most this year not counting the Mandalorian battle pack. The build looks horrible, the price is even worse cause we are paying $15 for the "free" anniversary figure. No Panaka that was rumoured is criminal, only 3 figures for the only The Phantom Menace anniversary set with figures for 25 years is so outrageous. Do not want or need Saw Guerrera, but I have to ask why are they not using the Echo (from Marvel) leg piece for him? Why are we still not using the monkey kid hilt for Maul? Why Fives wasn't in this set and Saw in the New Hope/Rogue one hallway? No special tile or a brick showing Maul or something special from The Phantom Menace to celebrate the anniversary like Return of the jedi got last year. 25 years since the movie and we still do not have majority of the characters and the ships from the movie. Idk how anyone can support or have excuses for this absolute thrash that's thrown to us for premium prices.
  21. Yeah, it's going to be really interesting to see. Previous anniversary figures were repeats with prints on the back and these ones are actual unique figures so I can't really compare them to anything. I am hoping for OT purists, sales and people buying multiple sets (to make them into one big one) to drop the price at least to the point where I don't feel like I have to get the set cause it's worth more than just getting a figure. In my mind all these anniversary figures should be a celebration of fans, people that work on the theme and celebration of the franchise. Instead LEGO is throwing anniversary figures in sets that they shouldn't be in while increasing the set prices. Han Solo should have been a free figure as a token of appreciation from LEGO for the 20th anniversary and instead they threw him in a battle pack while increasing the sets price by whooping 33% and now they are doing things even worse and releasing sought after figures like Malak and Jesse in sets they don't belong in while increasing not only the prices of these sets, but also earning additional money by getting percentage of bricklink sales from people that are forced to buy them separately. They could have put all these figures in polybags like they did with 20th anniversary Obi Wan and no one would complain about having to pay $5 or why not just give figures for free, not increase the set prices and earn money by selling a display case for the figures.
  22. I think Boarding on Tantive should have been a diorama and the Endor speeder chase should have been a set. They could have made it look really premium and now it just looks like a beefier Dark Trooper set with some big cons like 10 stickers, non accurate Vader torso, still using family guy stormtrooper helmets and Endor speeder chase feels lacking in backdrop, has a lame quote, bad leg prints which would have been acceptable in a non premium diorama set. Those 3 rebels look cool though and packaging looks really cool. I feel like if you don't care about Fives and get this on some kind of sale for $40-$45 and then sell Fives you recoup $8-$12 more and this set then doesn't sound as bad for $30. This whole anniversary figure concept is really weird to me. Shouldn't they be giving us extra free things as a thank you for being their customers for 25 years and not just throw in random figures that don't belong there and then increasing the set prices because of it. Everything else I ever collected would give me these beautiful coins or special cards, additional figures or extra toys and here I feel like I am being scammed.
  23. My assumption is that people either saw the leaked set, a prototype of some sorts or a picture and couldn't identify the creature so they just told us the only thing they found interesting about it. With so many shows coming this year it could be something we never even saw. I can totally see the bad batch going on some pointless mission/chore where they encounter the creature.
  24. Fives looks horrid, helmet print is terrible, no waist cape, pauldron looks awful and you have to buy an OT set to get it. Only torso print and printed arms looks decent. Very disappointed with the 25th anniversary of TPM content if these are all the sets. 25 years and we didn't get half of the vehicles from the movie as well as some of the characters like Rune Haako, Neimodian pilots and Boss Nass. Couldn't even give us a rehashed Queen Amidala whos price is a whooping $150 (without any issues with it).
  25. My thoughts on the rumoured list: Death Star playset sounds exciting, I love the imperial officer figures so any of them would come handy and selling the Cal Kestis minifig out of it would offset some of the cost. Only negatives would be the family guy stormtroopers and the fact that we aren't getting any of the ships or sets from the game otherwise Cal's figure wouldn't be there. Dark Side Millenium Falcon: sounds like a really cool and out of the ordinary thing that they are trying to do which is exciting, sadly as a mainly prequel fan I don't even own a regular version or care about it at all so pass. Tie Fighter and X-Wing set: not for me, sounds interesting though Escape from the Sarlacc: Boba not having pauldron in a $90 set is criminal, will/will not get this set based on the UCS Sail Barge cause that set has potential to be the best UCS set we have ever gotten with tons of minifigs and interior, but can also be a disaster (if that UCS set is even coming at all) Sith Infiltrator: Incredibly excited, can't wait to see Panaka's figure, Maul's speeder and I am curious if there is anything interesting with the Maul's figure, I am so interested in this set that they would really need to do something horrible and innacurate with it to make me not buy it Jedi Bob starfighter: since 1999 I don't think I have been less excited about a set like I am about this one, I don't understand the hype or the added price on a non-canon character All in all some decent stuff and LEGO trying something new. Not too hard on my wallet so I can focus on upcoming Mandalorian battle pack.
