Counter point: No one has seen Echo

I wish we'd get Deadpool sets, it would be fun, tho

    I watched Echo. ;(

I agree though that with Deadpool being a mature project and character, we won't be getting sets. Th only way I see us getting Deadpool is with either a comic book adaptation in the mansion set, or we get him in Avengers.

If they got the rights to using her likeness/the character then they could arguably just put her in the CMF series. This would be an extremely popular figure as you mentioned given the passionate fanbase, so would skyrocket the sales of the CMF series which might help considering CMF Series 3 if it does happen is likely going to be filled with characters from Disney+ that may not have a big draw.

That would be cool, but highly unlikely. I am curious though; with Avengers coming out in a couple years, could we see Lego shift from a Disney+ CMF to an Avengers CMF? Kinda like what Toys R Us did on Bricktober for Infinity War but on a larger scale.

I'm going with either the Daily Planet or Baxter Building. It makes more sense to release those while Superman and Fantastic Four are in the public eye by capitalizing on the hype for their upcoming films. I don't think we'll get both sets released in the same year but they are the two most relevant options to pick from for 2025.

The Baxter Building could be really cool. I don't think it would include many characters since we only know of 5-6 possible Minifigures so far. Hopefully, if true, they could compensate with a massive Galactus buildable along with the Baxter Building.

Then they could use US Agent, who was already established (and set up to be a direct foil/rival for Sam) in FatWS. This would also allow for a cool ‘Cap-vs-Cap’ fight, which would not be possible with Sabra unless she has powers (which would probably be the result of SSS, so another overlap with Walker). While they could make her a Mutant like in the comics, SSS fits better with the Leader and Red Hulk.

US Agent is in Thunderbolts, not Cap 4.

It's not necessarily a bad idea to use John instead, but they can still do so with Ruth, and Shira Haas can bring something to the role that Wyatt Russell as John maybe couldn't.

Taking a look forward, here are my predictions for 2025 at the moment:

    • Sets for the films: Captain America 4, Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four (Blade probably delayed to 2026)
    • Sets for 'Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' and 'Iron Heart'
    • Legacy sets from Age Of Ultron (10th anniversary) focusing on the latter half of the movie (Quicksilver, Baron Strucker, Ultimate Ultron, Vision, etc...)
    • Legacy set from Captain America franchise to tie in with Captain America 4/Thunderbolts
    • CMF Series 3 featuring figures from Marvel Zombies, Agatha, Eyes of Wakanda, Daredevil: Born Again S1 and Iron Heart
    • Probably a D2C set, maybe a UCS Helicarrier (10th anniversary remake) or a comic styled Baxter building (To tie into Fantastic Four)

I don't know how Lego will handle mature projects. I'm hesitant to say we'll get anything from Marvel Zombies, Blade, or Daredevil.

We might also get What If...? Season 3 and Wonder Man.

LEGO's audience being kids is exactly why I personally don't see Thunderbolts getting that much representation - the team is near exclusively side characters from projects I doubt most kids have seen. (and doubt they remember, if they have seen)

When I was a kid, I had some toys I didn't really know the characters from, sure, but my favourites were always my favourite characters - I don't imagine many people were that different.

Even if kids might not know Sam Wilson's iteration that well, they surely know Captain America, and even if they don't know red Hulk, they know Hulk. And bigfigs are fun! If THE Captain America gets (more or less) just a single set, I really can't see The Thunderbolts, who are generally speaking unpopular even among adult fans, getting that much more. Two? MAYBE. Three? No chance. Leaks say that many of the characters don't particularly have an important role in the film (it's very much Yelena's movie) so that's another reason I'd be skeptical.

Plus, with like, John Walker, would LEGO wanna do a character whose most iconic scene is killing a surrendering man?

Would love to be proven wrong and just to hear arguments to the contrary, though! But as it stands I can see one $60-ish set with Yelena, Sentry and two or so other members

I would argue the same for Eternals. To be fair though, Lego's 2019-2020 mindset isn't the same as their 2023-2024 mindset, so maybe now they're more hesitant with riskier properties. And I don't see why Lego wouldn't make John Walker. By the logic given, Lego will never make Kingpin since his most iconic scene is bashing someone's head in with a car door.

I agree with you for the most part. A group like Fantastic Four only needs the four characters, but Thunderbolts entails 6-7 members that I feel Lego would want to either split up into 2-3 sets, or they exclude some for like an $60-80 set of 5-6 characters like you mentioned. When I suggest they'll probably do multiple sets, I mean some combination of the two options: one big set with 3-6 characters, and maybe an additional set with two repeats and one exclusive character.

Thunderbolts doesn't seem like the type of film that's likely to get a big marketing push. Compared to Captain America 4, Fantastic Four and Superman Legacy its the least relevant film coming out next year. And with the downward trend in superhero films lately is anyone really expecting this one to do well at the box office?

The most sets I can see this film getting is two, but I think even just one is enough if they keep the focus on Bucky, Yelena, US Agent, Red Guardian and Sentry. Nobody gave a shit about the MCU's portrayals of Ghost and Taskmaster last time and I doubt many people would miss them if they were excluded here.

Thunderbolts might not be as popular, but that doesn't make them less relevant, and I don't see why Marvel or Lego would market it any less than the other films mentioned. Any non-R-rated Marvel movie, especially an ensemble film, seems like a reasonable thing for Lego to want to capitalize on. But I do agree that they'll probably get no more than two sets. I just don't think they'll try to cram them all in one.

Also, Lego isn't just looking at the popularity of the brand or characters (though they are important). They're also going to want to consider characters who are relatively inexpensive to make (John Walker doesn't seem to difficult to make), and there needs to be some playability factor to them (Ghost may not have much, but Taskmaster has a sword, a shield, a bow, and who knows what other neat tools/weapons). Lego's main audience are kids, and I believe Thunderbolts has enough potential for kids to want more than one set.

There are rumors about Silver Surfer in the FF movie. If we only got one FF set, I can't imagine it would feature all four characters, HERBIE, the villain, plus the Surfer.

I don't think Lego is intent to include all of them. But, like Arishem, Galactus could be buildable (as could HERBIE). I also haven't put much stock into Silver Surfer appearing in the film, and if he does, there's no guarantee he'll play a huge role.

Besides, my predictions are primarily based on less risky scenarios. I'm only excluding characters if they have a decent chance at being excluded. Since the film is called the Fantastic Four, Lego would naturally want to make the main four, but other than that, all others are game. If Lego didn't care to include Kang or Dar-Benn last year, I don't see why Lego would care to make the villain here.

Also I don't know if anyone has seen the reports of MCU Spidey 4 filming this fall but this could mean the movie will be out by late 2025.

If that's the case, that means we could get Thunderbolts, Spider Man 4, and Fantastic Four sets next year, which would be exciting (also Technically the Cap 4 sets too but those are reported to come out December this year).

Sony Pictures has only one Spider-Man film scheduled for June 2025. Unless they delay it or add another date, I don't think we're getting Spider-Man 4 next year. However, the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man animated series is scheduled for this year, so we could get sets for that either in the Fall or next year.

    12 hours ago, poisonbricks said:

If Cap 4 only gets one set (and the buildable figure, I guess) then I wouldn't imagine Thunderbolts would get more than that either. Spidey would probably get 3 sets, most of his movies do, and then there's F4 - I could see anywhere from 1-3, depending on how much confidence Marvel and LEGO have in its merchandising. Maybe it gets the big superhero D2C location for the Baxter building, but what if they wanna give it a go for Superman and his film that year?

Of course there's plenty of room if they're just tackling Marvel Studios stuff, but there's normally a generic Spidey wave and some Amazing Friends stuff as well, plus the buildable figures, infinity saga stuff, mechs, object display sets...

All I really want is more X-Men, some good stuff for F4 and hopefully a return of the CMF, but there's a lot to pull from and I don't think I could even begin predicting the lineup one way or another.

I feel the opposite for Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts. I think we'll get one set for Fantastic Four and multiple Thunderbolts. The latter has at least seven members, and the most figures featured in the a Marvel set is usually six, so unless we get one big set that excludes some major players, or we get two or more with a full lineup. I also feel like similar to the Cap 4 set, we only need one F4 set with three minifigures and one big-figure.

I see a lot of speculation regarding future film/TV sets, but I'm curious what the safest predictions are for the future. Thunderbolts for example, I feel confident we'd get Yelena, but what characters do we feel are the most likely to be included, and which do we feel are most likely to be excluded? I could see us getting John Walker & Sentry, but I don't know about the others.

  10. For situations like these, I always look at the promotional material. Marvel really only seems to be highlighting 12 characters (Cyclops, Jean, Wolverine, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Magneto, Jubilee, Bishop, Morph, Sunspot, and Beast), with some toy exceptions from Hasbro (Nightcrawler, X-cutioner, and Madelyne Pryor). Outside of these 15, I don't anticipate anybody else. So if we consider all 15, around 5 characters would be removed.

At this point, we should count ourselves lucky if we'll get all the FF members at all, whether in one set or multiple. I wouldn't put it past Lego to somehow skip a member or two. Unless Galactus is in the movie, I don't think we'll be seeing him. Marvel mostly avoids the comics unless it's for a proven property like Spider-Man. Something as untested as the FF isn't where they'll experiment.

I don't think they'll skip Red Hulk. Kids will go crazy over a new Hulk in a different color so I imagine Red Hulk would be too lucrative a choice to miss out on. And Thunderbolts seems like the type of movie that Lego would only make one set for.

Fantastic Four is a different story. I'm not so much a pessimist to believe lego would produce set(s) for a group that famously has four members and not make all four. I'm thinking more like The Marvels where we get the essential names and skip the others (so no Silver Surfer, Doom, etc.).

I'd imagine that we get six sets in total for the live action 2025 films, with Blade likely to be cancelled or at minimum pushed back into 2026.

    • 1 set for Captain America 4
    • 3 sets for Thunderbolts
    • 2 sets for Fantastic Four

    In terms of layout:

    • Red Hulk, Sam Cap, Torres Falcon, Sabra
    • Winter Soldier, Ghost, Taskmaster
    • U.S. Agent, Red Guardian, Valentina
    • Sentry, Yelena, Thunderbolt Ross (Red Hulk?)
    • Fantasticar Build with Invisible Woman, The Thing and Galactus's Herald
    • Galactus Build with Mr.Fantastic, Human Torch and Herbie

Only thing making me hesitate is that this layout would lack repeats, though I'd imagine some of the figures would be recycled for usage in Avengers 5/6.

After the Daily Planet I'd imagine they would do Wayne Manor OR Arkham Asylum instead of doing a Teen Titans modular.

In terms of Marvel D2C's I think the most likely would be a revamped Avengers Helicarrier which they seem to be teasing given the midi-scale version. The Hulkbuster MK2 I could easily see getting a larger version eventually. Iron Man Mansion seems like a logical choice for the 20th anniversary of Iron Man in 2028, similarly being the 20th anniversary of the MCU as a whole they'd likely want to do a big set that celebrates the entire theme featuring a bunch of Phase 1-6 characters.

2023 brought out my inner pessimist. I don’t see Lego going for more than one Fantastic Four set, and we definitely aren’t getting all the Thunderbolts.

One Fantastic Four set with three Minifigures and a Big fig seem most likely. Maybe we get Herbie or a Galactus buildable, but that could just be one $90 set over 2 sets.

I can’t see Lego making Valentina, and if Red Hulk is in Thunderbolts, his inclusion in the Captain America set may see him getting skipped. Yelena and Bucky seem most likely, one or two new characters (John, Alexei, or Sentry), but I’m not confident we’ll get Ghost or Taskmaster. I hope we do.

Also curious when we’ll get sets for the new Spider Man animated series. Last I heard, the show was this year, and I can’t imagine Lego skipping out on an animated Spider-Man.

I'm starting to collect Marvel (I started this year with Spider Man NWH Final Battle sets) so I would like to know what are the chances of seeing a Kingpin big fig for the summer wave?

Despite past video games, I don't think we're gonna get a Kingpin big figure. Marvel is scheduled to release a new animated Spider-Man series featuring Daredevil, so it's possible we could get a Kingpin Minifigure this year (maybe not Summer).

It is absolutely awful to me to see that the almost unanimous reaction to this seems to be "They should cut Sabra/use her to criticize Isreal".

    Spoiler

I don't think they should remove Sabra, and the only reason I'm asking if people would be okay if she were a villain is because I'm not sure if her being controversial is the real reason people are upset. If she has any connection to the comics, she's too controversial to use. If she's changed completely, people are STILL arguing she should be removed. Sometimes it feels like people just really hate Sabra. I love when Marvel/Lego makes new characters, and I'd be disappointed if Lego swapped her out with someone we've already gotten before.

I think at its core, bringing it back to Lego, Lego themselves would not know how the character would be handled as the set would be based on concept art provided to them in 2021/2022 and definitely have no clue how the character would be handled in the reshot version that we'll see in 2025. As such I doubt they were aware of the potential controversy surrounding the character's history, but given the current situation in the world and how Lego have cancelled sets or dropped figures for less. I think it'd be justifiable on Lego's part to remove Sabra from the set over concerns it would risk representing a stance in a modern military conflict.

What sets or figures have been removed in the past?

    1 hour ago, THELEGOBATMAN said:

I don't think some people understand the issue here.

It's not whether they stand with Israel or Palestine — it's about whether they choose a stand at all. Being associated with an ongoing conflict is not something corporations seek.

Look how it ended for Spyglass with Scream VII — they fired a single actress after she made a post on Instagram accusing one side of the conflict of genocide, and the whole movie (and possibly franchise) has collapsed for years, if not much more than that.

Have you seen the comments about Sabra being in the movie even before the ongoing conflict has started? Just look here, I genuinely can't find a single positive comment:

So even if Disney makes a ridiculous decision of leaving her in the movie (which would backfire at them heavily), LEGO won't include her in the set.

    Spoiler

To be fair, we don't really know if Marvel/Lego is choosing a side. The fact they're calling her Ruth instead of Sabra probably means they're aware of the controversy and are taking active steps to change the character for a maximal audience. You said yourself; people were concerned even before the war and yet she's still rumored to be in the set.  If they change her to avoid controversy, is it still bad to have her in the set?

  15. 21 minutes ago, Battlinpanther said:

You can’t really pull “she’s not reflective of her government just because she works for them” when that government is actively being criticized for crimes against humanity right now. I have no idea how they’d planned on using her in the film, but if she was going to be depicted as an agent of the Israeli government before the reshoots, she almost certainly isn’t now.

I could see Lego doing what they did with their Flash set and just remove the problematic character and swap her out for someone else.

That's not what I'm arguing. I explicitly said she'll contrast Sam Wilson by being a state superhero instead of a superhero for all people. I explicitly said she'll probably be an antagonist in the film. Tell me, if she is an antagonist, and the film uses her to criticize Israel, is it still inappropriate to have her in the film?

  16. 3 minutes ago, poisonbricks said:

Criticisms of the character are that maybe it's not a great idea to bring back a character whose most recognisable arc is needing to learn that a dead Palestinian kid is actually a human being. Especially at this time.

If she's close to the comics, bad move, if she's nothing like the comics, why use her at all? There's no version that isn't distasteful.

    Spoiler

This isn't really Lego related, so I'm creating this Spoiler box to take up less space, but . . .

The only reason that's her most recognizable arc is because online pundits say it is. The truth is there are several Marvel characters with messed up histories who have and/or will change to fit a new audience (i.e. Hank Pam beating his wife, Starfox r***ing women in She-Hulk, Red Guardian supporting the USSR, etc.). But I agree; if Marvel adapts that particular scene in the new Captain America movie, I'll agree it's a bad move. I think most of us agree that won't happen.

Another issue I run into is everyone thinking any change to the character makes her completely different. Even if she isn't Israeli, she may still be a state superhero. Or maybe she is Israeli, but isn't a state superhero. Maybe they mention her son dying during the Intifada, or maybe they don't.

And I want to stress the second part of my previous post. If Sabra is similar to the comics, she'll more than likely be an antagonist in the film, not a glorified bigot.

  17. 2 hours ago, Scarilian said:

I don't think you understand the reason why she might be removed. It's more related to the history of her character and the context of what she's about.

If Disney have no intent to delve into any of that, then it was a mistake even labelling and promoting the new character as Sabra in the first place - hence why the character should be removed.

I don't get any of the criticisms with the character. Marvel said Shira Haas would play a new character and that she would deviate somewhat from the comics. We don't know any more about the character other than rumors and speculation. There's no reason to assume that she'll be unrecognizable from the comics, nor that she'll be identical to the comics.

I don't expect Marvel or Lego to remove her (it might also be too late). Other than her being Israeli, Sabra is a state superhero. A major question asked of Falcon & the Winter Soldier is "What does it mean to be Captain America?" Sam Wilson struggles with this but ultimately concludes Captain America is more than his country, but a hero for all people. The final episode is even called "One World, One People." Choosing to adapt a state superhero is likely meant to foil Sam Wilson's journey. I predict Sabra will basically be Israeli John Walker: a reoccurring antagonist, later turned ally.

You're kinda defeating the point of the spoiler tag. But also . . .

    Spoiler

I don't mind if it's not Danny Rand. There have been several Iron Fists in the comics that would be cool to get. Also, I'm happy to be getting more animated projects, as it seems to be giving viewers characters we wouldn't normally see in the MCU (i.e. X-Men, Nico Minoru, Iron Fist, etc.).

  19. I don't know when or if we'll get another CMF, but with the heavy animated projects releasing now and next year, I'm hopefully anticipating more animated characters.

Characters I would love to see:

What If...?: Kahhori, Doctor Strange Supreme, Captain Carter, 1602 hero

X-Men '97: Jean Grey, Gambit, Nightcrawler

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man: Spider-Man FF suit, Daredevil, Nico Minoru

    Eyes of Wakanda:

    Spoiler

Don't know much about this show other than it exploring past Wakandan warriors, so hopefully past Black Panthers like T'Chaka. I also saw a rumor (just a rumor) that the protagonist(s) would cross paths with other secret nations like K'un-Lun with Iron Fist.
