I couldn't see the video or open the file, do you think you could post it on youtube.com? tim
  5. Thanks for the kind words :) This MOC is especially difficult because it wil be my first all studless model! Tim
  6. Yes i have been deeply inspired by your creation!! As for the arm, last night i developed a similar monting for the m motor as you, although not quiet as elegant. i will post photos on monday. tim
  7. A couple of times before, I have ordered hoses off of eBay. I think i searched "lego pnuematic hoses". For the most part, the buyer can tell the seller the color an the length of the hoses they wish to buy. Hope this helps! Tim
  8. When i tried opening the first link my firewall blocked it saying it was malicious. Please upload to a more common site like Brickshelf. tim
  9. i agree completely. I was super disappointed when i tried to use the arm for lifting things, it couldn't lift anything!! Although i have seen this trend with a lot of Lego sets, they look good but when it comes down to actually putting load on it, it fails completely!! tim
  10. Unfortunately the motors for the other LAs in the boom would block the path. Also, since only 2 functions could be driven through the turntable, i didn't think it would work. Maybe i can experiment when i get back on Monday. I am away for the weekend so i cant build . You totally should!!! tim
  11. Id love to pick up the other 4 . tim
  12. Yes. Think I could take some more pictures. My 8043 is kind of mangled at the moment because i took off the boom and LA's for my latest project. I would agree exactly! The gearbox is underpowered and wastes a lot of room. You are much better off adding motors/recievers. Tim
  13. Hello, So i have been building a huge demolition version of the classic 8043 excavator. There is a 3 section boom and a big claw at the end. I am, however having problems with the LA's that lift up the main boom. One LA slips easier than the other, causing the actuators to become misaligned. Basically the boom cant be lowered because of the difference between the LA's. I know that there is a slight difference between all parts and they are not always the same, but it no matter how many different pairs of LA's i try in combination, there is still a difference in slipping. Is there anything i can do about it? tim
  14. Pleasssssssssssse! tim
  15. Brickshelf keeps giving me a weird error saying that the pictures cant be opened because they contain errors. IL try re-uploading late today. tim
  16. Unfortunately, i am classifying my project of a huge demolition excavator as a failure ./ The LAs just don't have enough power to lift the boom, and i cant make the boom any smaller. I am however excited about my next project!! Picture: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=483193 tim
  17. Hello, This is my most recent creation, and i think my best too! It is a walking excavator, heavily inspired by swissbagger1's version. It has 10 remote functions controlled fro a huge control. Functions include: drive, 4 independent legs, Slewing of upper structure, book up/down, dipper in/out, dipper extension, and bucket curl/uncurl. This is also my first time experimenting with picture editing! The main arm is raised by two linear actuators, powered by a xl motor hidden in the superstructure. The dipper is moved in and out by a linear actuator mounted on the arm. Also, the dipper can be extended by 6 studs with the pneumatics. Finally, the bucket can be curled by 1 pneumatic cylinder. This is a side view of the lower structure. The 2 front legs are independently controlled by the pneumatic cylinders. Also, in the front are 2 small cylinders which can spread the front legs out at an angle. In the back, are 2 more independently controlled legs. These legs can not move out because they are driven by a pf m motor which is located inside the hull. The wheels are geared down with the gearbox located on the axles. The old style motor seen is for the slew of the superstructure. When all the legs are retracted, the whole machine can drive forward with the rear powered wheels. here is the crazy control panel, can you guess what each switch does ? Also, there is a video posted on my youtube channel which shows each of the functions: And more pictures on my brickshelf account: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=483084 Does anyone know if there are any Lego shows near Boston In the USA, i would love to bring it to a show!! Thanks for looking . Comments welcome! tim
  18. Thanks for the kind words :). Unfortunately I think DC is probably to far to travel :(. Tim
  19. This is super awesome!! Please make a video!!!! tim
  20. I have actually looked at their website before but it seems to be a Lego trains LUG... Not Lego technic. Tim
  21. I think the videos perfect! Thanks for making it. tim
  22. Wow that's very simple yet functional. Thanks for rebuilding it!! I will try to incorporate it into my 8043. tim
  23. Well i havnt geared it down anymore than the original 8043, maybe thats the next step. I also switched to an xl and made the boom smaller which helped a bit. I will have to try gearing it down more next. tim
