Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Bugbot20082 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I have been almost a completionist for the system sets so far, I think I have enough stock now to make my own Hogwarts without more sets. The new Battle of Hogwarts set might be the first where I brick link the figures only rather than get the whole thing. If I was starting the theme half way through I would get it though for sure -

That greenhouse set is amazing! Just had a look at the parts inside and it’s got green recolours of saxophones, brown ducks, and beautiful butterflies, I might have to get it myself! -

I would add to that a Polyjuice sized set for the Duelling Club, 4 figures: (new) Lockheart, Snape, Harry, Draco. -

Totally random thought I had the other day: a novel idea for a future advent calendar, which would satisfy those craving a ‘tent in the forest set’ Deathly Hallows part 1 themed advent calendar, figures include the trio in their traveling outfits, Ron with a bandage, Harry with a broken mirror, Hermione with a purple bag. Other figures could be the minister of Magic, snatchers etc characters which only show for the one film and don’t fit elsewhere. What’s unique about this set it that it includes a punch-out plastic ‘cloth’ tent similar as those form Indiana Jones and city, either packed in loose into the box behind the cardboard pockets or it punches out of the back fold down flap of the box itself. The artwork of the rest of the ‘floor’ is a snowy clearing for the campsite and an icy pond etc. builds include the brick base frame for the tent, radio, campfire, sword in ice, Gravestone from Godric’s Hollow etc -

If they wanted they could indeed finish of the theme with all the missing sets you mentioned (all on my want list make no mistake), but I think the reason they are adding in sets like the Owl D2C, the books and banners, trunks, buildable creatures and expanding into the dots range etc which are all beyond the usual scope of a typical film licence tie-in is because they want to make it evergreen. They will continue to do remakes of the great hall and potions classroom and The clock tower etc as different ages of children drop in and out of interest of the theme as the years go on. There is an evergreen market for HP merchandise in general, as can be seen with the existence of various wizarding world specialist shops selling wands, stationary, scarfs and soft toys etc and the theme parks of course which are very successful. Here in the U.K. there are still some HP doll figures and a dollhouse like castle and a few small collectible pencil toppers figures etc which I see in all sorts of shops. -

I hope we get prints for signposts etc, I expect the the building mini builds will fit on a map on the fold out. Complimentary to and roughly scaled to work with the ‘Hogwarts Castle & grounds’ set. -

It’s happened before, first description of Dumbledore’s office suggested Mcgonagall was in it, but then later on we discovered to much joy that it was Madame Pince! -

Agreed, also far too many Neville at the expense of very little Seamus Finnigan -

So disappointed with no Durmstrang ship this year, I thought with the lake task set it would follow suit I might get the HE but only if it’s got better/new figures compared to the 2018 version. A new Hagrid coat colour wood be awesome, HBP Draco and Luna from the D2C, a Slughorn in teacher robes, Hogsmeade variants of some students to compliment the AC this year perhaps -

6 figures is not many for a big castle section, the past big ones had about 8 in them. It could take a ‘Battle of Five Armies’ approach with a representative of each faction: Teacher: McGonagall (black dress) OotP: Mrs. Weasley Student: Seamus Finnigan (we are overdue a older version of him) Death Eater: Bellatrix and/or Carrows Snatcher: Fenrir and/or Scabior plus Harry and Voldy (perhaps using green ghost legs to show him flying) I have last years AC and don’t fancy another Neville.. but a new Hagrid print would be awesome -

New video game sounds fun, there is lots to cover with a reboot if it uses all the new moulds and designs form the theme reboot. I hope the open world Castle grounds hub is like the LotR map in that it’s fully layed out all in correct proportion in one seamless space, and tries more to reflect the more developed layout from the later movies. I like the idea of walking from Hogsmeade to the winged hog gate, to the bell towers & greenhouses, round the training grounds & pitch, owlry, past the stone circle to Hagrid’s hut and even walk up to the WW without any scene transitions/cuts and no fixed camera angle. -

I think the contents of that room are meant to enable you to reenact the end of the PoA movie where Harry receives the Firebolt as a present. Rather than write a letter Sirius leaves one of Buckbeak’s feathers in the parcel to tell Harry who it is from. See also the back of the box; the left hand insert picture. This is also the reason for Harry’s new expression in the set 😁 -
There is another head you could use for Womtounge which looks very similar and should be inexpensive to find on BrickLink: The Mandarin from Ironman 3. The new Lucius Malfoy torso print is also a good substitute (Custom Denethor also)

Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Bugbot20082 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don’t follow Starwars news and these forums much (although I love the theme, (I focus more on the Harry Potter discussion), but recently I felt inspired to get myself a definitive Millennium Falcon as I actually never owned one before, so I got the RoS version 2nd hand and also got the Xwing on shelves as that has Leia and I found a Han from the microfigter to build up a more OT crew. I hope to Mod the interior to define the rooms better and add more features as other have done. Now it’s got me thinking about what else I would like to build up and Jabba’s palace came to mind as a location I would enjoy growing and customising as there is so much going on there, i wish I got the original Rancor pit when it was on shelves as that’s gone up in value by about %400! So here is a wish, an approach to Jaba’s palace similar to the Hogwarts Castle system sets with several modular sets each of a room etc which can combine together to make up the whole palace complex, both by connecting sideways and by stacking: Jabba’s throne room: Jabba, Chewie, Leia (disguise), Bib Fortuna, Han in carbonite, Gamorrean guard, Salacious B. Crumb, Ephant Mon using hulk arms & face sticker on a 6192, monk droid etc. the build is the main large building only, with maybe a side build for the palace door with security droid which can be rearranged. Rancor pit: Rancor, keeper, Gamorrean guard, Oola, Luke, another alien such as Amanaman. Build is a large rocky foundation for the throne room. Jabbas’s dungeons: Han (blind), EV-9D9, Gonk droid, R2D2, C3PO, a background alien like Bubo. Build is a rocky foundation for the towers with detailed rooms inside of the droid room and prison. Jabba’s Palace Tower; Boba Fett (bath tank), Krrsantan, Boba’s armour. Gamorrean guard From BoBF. Build is the tallest tower of the palace. Jabba’s Palace: The Max Rebo Band: Max Rebo and about 3 other aliens etc. Build is a smaller side tower. -

The mini Build of the pitch is fascinating, I wonder if it’s scaled to compliment the mini castle and grounds set we are expecting this year Agreed, Im way more excited for this AC than I have been for the last 2. I wonder if it will include some micro Hogsmeade buildings in addition to tables or Butterbeer mugs and new prints for signposts etc -

I’m on holiday so not been checking this forum much, super excited for the Hogsmeade AC, that is my wish come true! A return to form for the Advent Calandars! I made an Hogsmeade Advent Calendar MOC on my Instagram myself for 2021, and 4 of the figures leaked are the same, but now we are getting wonderful new prints and hat/hair recolours! https://www.instagram.com/p/CYBeVnxrDYh/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Fantastic getting Aberforth, although all the purple doesn’t look right to me, I’ll swap the legs at least. Only thing this AC needs now to be perfect is a printed Hogs Head signpost so we can MOC our own pub :D -

Some ideas, mixing up lots of movies together, I can see them lumping several of these things together with some ambiguous year 3/4 students in robes and a couple of new teacher variants: The Bell towers, a Movie accurate long Greenhouse, the stone circle overlooking Hagrid’s hut, pumpkin patch & scarcrow. A tree with Draco sitting in it which turns around to transform him into a ferret. The Boat House, the Owlry on its hill -

I haven’t even built my original version yet I purchased from the revival 😅, but I have no interest in an extra large Burrow they should have done a wedding tent as it’s own set about £45 with a few exclusive printed figures, then a tie-in Advent Calendar to get a few extra characters for the scene -

Regarding capes, the pack of 4 cloth parts from the Hogwarts castle D2C was available on B&P but listed as individual capes etc. without knowing this i added a couple of brown capes and a black one etc to my basket thinking they were individual and what ended up arriving I think was several pre-packed cape boxes each including inside Slytherin’s collar part, so I had more capes in the end than I originally thought I ordered. After checking the cereal number on the cape box I realised what set stock it was from and then it made sense -

What store it that? I have only seen it for £32 at smythToys, not a bad deal but I have no interest in the 4+ build tractor etc it’s not a bad price to get all the animals though, plus some vegetables and a winch etc but I already got lots of sheep so don’t need the extra -

Finaly made an order which had been in the basket before ‘standard’ was put on pause, thankfully it remembered everything I had selected even though I couldn’t see it. I got myself a pair of cows, they are expensive but the price is about the same on Bricklink, I checked to see first if the farm set was more economical to purchase on sale compared to the same animals etc from B&P but it wasn’t and I didn’t want the tractor and barn builds etc -

Just had a look at the latest ‘standard’ parts that can be ordered and I’m amazed by some of the parts available (U.K.): piglet, lamb, calf, 2 colours of horse, butterfly, rubber duck, printed gold coin, Moby Brick book cover, Dr Strange’s rubber cape, both Butterbeer colours, the new historic guitar (cheaper to get it in BAM in store though), kittens, printed acorn, squirrels, 2 standing owls, candlestick, hourglass, game controller, and much more Also forks are really cheap I notice Frogs for some reason are in ‘miscellaneous’ rather than animals
