Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I'm guessing there's a language barrier here, but I never suggested a Star Wars-themed WV set. I don't think anyone has suggested that. I suggested a new Star Wars-themed holiday employee gift, which has already been done once before.

I agree - I doubt that we'll get a chapel this year, but this is a real change for Lego. It's one thing to put a casino in a micro-build skyline, but quite something else to do a 4000+ piece set of a church. If Notre Dame goes over well (and I'll be shocked if it doesn't), then maybe it will pave the way for further changes in strategy by Lego, and maybe that will filter down to the WV line in several years. On the other hand, if Notre Dame is released with some excuse that a portion of the profits are going towards the restoration of the cathedral, then I doubt we'll see another religious building in the near future.

No, they'll never do a Star Wars ship with the primary Winter Village set - that wouldn't make any sense. I mean with the employee gift that's given to certain Lego employees at the end of every year. Check out set 4002019. I'm wondering if they'll do a Falcon similar to that for the employee gift this year. As for the idea of a modular, if the leaked info is correct, it doesn't seem like there's enough pieces for a modular - not that I ever expect them to do a modular for the WV set. I'll be very happy if we get a set similar to the quality of the Lodge.

Agreed. I'm still very happy with the beautiful Lodge set and the great Carriage GWP that we received this year. It's almost gilding the lily to think about the 2024 set already - but I am happy to see that it looks to be a sizable set again. If I'm really honest, and really greedy, I'll say that I'm hoping the 2024 employee gift will be another Star Wars themed set, as they're celebrating the 25th anniversary of the line this year. With the rumors of the Dark Millennium Falcon set this year, would they possibly do a holiday-colored Millennium Falcon to go along with the X-Wing from 2019?

That definition of stall works in the US as well. I'm not overwhelmed by this set, but I agree that it's a nice little expansion of the WV Market.

That's great news. It's been a long time since we had two GWP's over the holiday season that both compliment our winter villages.

Are the Stall and the Ride two separate sets? I watched Brick Clicker's most recent video, and it sounded like the horse and carriage might be in the Stall set.

Brick Clicker says in his latest video that the official reveal is supposed to occur today.

Surely we'll be getting official pictures this week, right?

It's definitely cold for an outhouse, but I've heard plenty of stories from my father about using an outhouse in the winter when he was a kid. And then there's a hilarious story about my aunt falling in the hole while they were in the process of moving the outhouse to a new location, but I digress... With this leak, I would guess we'll be seeing official images next week.

The reason I jump to that conclusion is because it looks like either there's a sticker of a crescent moon on the door of that small building, or there's actually a crescent moon cut out of the door (maybe that would be a new piece? I don't keep track of these things). In the US, the crescent moon on a door like that would traditionally indicate an outhouse. And this certainly wouldn't be new territory for Lego - didn't they have a small City set several years back that consisted of a truck that was picking up a port-a-potty, or something along those lines?

Is that little shed to the right an outhouse?!

I agree. I don't think there's any lack of interest, there just hasn't been much to talk about since the blurry photo got leaked. I saw enough in that photo to believe that I'm going to be happy with the set this year, and I'm content to wait until we see more detailed photos in the next couple weeks before discussing the set further. But not for a second would I think there's lack of interest. It looks like it's going to be a great set with some interesting architecture.

I agree with this interpretation. In the US, a lodge could be a private residence, or it can be a more public facility where people rent rooms. I'm guessing it's the latter in this case, but either way, I'm liking the look of the architecture of the main building in this set. I'm hoping this building is exactly "rustic but fancy," which is largely what I envision when I think of a lodge. I'd be equally satisfied if this set is a smaller version of the BL Winter Chalet set, or if this ends up being another single family home for the village. Either way, I think I'm pretty happy with this year's entry to the WV line. A pleasant return to form after last year's departure.
