  2. It 's a beautifull build. I like it very much. Love the functionality.
  3. Yes, with the current Technic beams I can, but with the old, studded, Technic beams I fail....
  4. I have a small question: I'm trying to build a winch like on the Unimog 8110 BUT with classic Lego Technic bricks. I borrowed a wormgear from my son, but now I can't have it meshed with an 8-teeth gear. (I'm not a technic mastermind). Is this possible at all? In Sariels book I saw an example with bevel gears, but I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong here....
  5. When my son was born, I rebuild all my Town sets. That was in 2009. I think the last set I bought was the Model Team Highway truck around 1986/87. I then started MOC-ing a bit in Model Team scale (12-studs wide). My first new set was 8110. Later followed by 42009, the Tumbler and this year the Arocs. Oh, and the VW Campervan. Great sets all. But I must say these days I'm mostly intrested in Technic. It is really the most challenging. So that is what I follow on the forum here. My son loves the City stuff. I occasionally build stuff for him from my old bricks. He is really into Lego Batman these days... (with my help :-) ) I haven't rebuild any of my Technic sets from the mid-80's however. Right now I'm now and then working on a Unimog 406 like truck, same scale as 8110, but build with my '80's classic technic bricks. And 12V motor to power some sort function.
  6. Haha, former Taklifts! Good to know!
  7. It is a very nice build! It reminds me of the Taklift 4, which was build at the shipyard where my late father used to work. Very impressive MOC!
  8. I don't know if it has been asked before, but what are the estimated costs for the snowplow when ordering all the parts via bricklink?

    42009 boom extension problem

I have disassembled the boom. Couldn't spot a mistake. I then rebuild it. It seems to work fine now, at least manually. I guess it must have been the rope that caused the troubles but no idea what was wrong with it. Now I have disassembled the gearbox and started to rebuild it. Hope this solves most problems.
  10. Yesterday my son wanted to play with the 42009 crane. When we extended the boom that didn't work quite well anymore. The gear at the bottom starts to slip. I can't really find or solve the problem. I appears that the wormgear somehow gets stuck, the one at the top of the boom. When i help it extend manually, a little pull, then it continues for a few centimeters and then the same thing happens. Any idea what the problem could be?

    42009 boom extension problem

Well the crane not extremely dusty, but it is the only difference since building it. It cllected a bit of dus over the past few years. Maybe I should rebuild the upper structue. And clean it...... Is there a way to test the motor?

Max, I was wondering about that actually. Could dust really have this effect?

    42009 boom extension problem

Well, few months later now, and the problems with my 42009 aare worsening. There seems to be a general lack of power. Extending the outriggers works, kind of. Lowering them or lifting them starts very slow and then kind of stops. The motor just blocks it seems. Same thing for extending the boom. It just won't extend anymore. However, I don't here the clutch gear. There seems just not enough power to get the gears running. I have changed the batteries, exchanged the batterybox, all with the same result. What is happening? I have build the set, it has been on the shelve for all that time, never changed anything, and sometimes used it. It worked perfectly fine untill a made this original post..... Any help would be welcome.

    Pathfinder ATV

Cool thing! Never seen something like that!
  18. I see you are getting some backlash here, but I appreciate your attempts. Without you trying, we' ll never know. So: good luck!
  19. I like it! Certainly in this scale!
  20. Don't know if the question has been answered yet, but I saw a video and yes, the doors do open..... And clearly it was a 6-cylinder engine, although that was allready established. This is such a cool set.....
