  1. Not bad at all considering the less than optimal parts donor
  2. Looks awesome, especially with that container trailer and double tires on all axles! Well done!
  3. Really cool car. Usually I dont think made-up cars don't look as good (being a sportscar designer is a hard job after all ), but not in this case. The car really looks like a MCLaren to me lol. But since I am not that interested in newer cars the small details and differences will slip through my fingers. I like the interior and how the flex axles are used here Only complaint I have is that the rear looks a bit cluttered, which is really not needed as making a car with original design allows you to shape the design around the bricks, instead of the other way around. Also the exhaust pipes would look better if there was no pin inside them. Is it possible to mount them on pins with stud instead?
  4. Agreed. This is a good change both during and outside of contest times
  5. I agree with @Nazgarot that it is nice to see a lot of active users and projects during "contest time". It is good, makes the forum feel really alive. That is something that could be lost if the contest is split off from the normal forum. Maybe we can just go with a seperate subforum for this contest and have another discussion afterwards about how everybody feels about it. We can still decide if this is a good idea or if old way was better after all after the contest is over
  6. I like the idea bacause you basically can't post MOCs while a contest is going on or the post will be gone very fast. But I do agree the subforum should be easily accessible , so a single pinned link would be good I think. Also I think it would be good to remove the "Hall of Fame" from being pinned to free up some space. It has last been updated like 2,5 years ago, so it obviously isn't very interesting or useful without anything new going on. Just my 2c.
  7. Not pretty but interesting. Also I think it is kind of weird you chose to use a chain to move the "hook rollers" (no idea what that is called). I would have just used string instead for a more sleek, lightweigt and small solution.
  8. It may not be perfect but I think it looks pretty cool with the tractor tires especially. If you are not happy with the build just keep in mind how well the funtions worked and what you learned for your future creations. Even projects one considers a failure will add to your experience.
  9. I think this is a good idea. I never understood why Mindstorms was seperated in the first place. Most Mindstorms builds are basically technic builds with different electronics. I think this will be a good change.

    AFOL Dissertation Participants Needed!

Done, I hope this is helpful.
  11. Looks very true to the original! I mean, the real car looks like it was designed with making a LEGO build in mind, no curves or other problems. But still, very well done. Only thing I dislike is that there is a transparent piece in the rear window, but nowhere else. That looks weird.
  12. Cool machine! And it looks like a nice start!
  13. Time is the most essential when learning how to get good at making MOCs. Patience and determination to rip everything apart again and again to make an improvement is how you improve. Knowing what bricks exist is very improtant too when building MOCs. That's knowledge you gain along the way. Using digital programs like LDCad or Stud.io can help here too, along with the Bricklink database.

    The thing about Happy Thoughts

I don't really know what this is supposed to mean, but it does look really cool!

    [MOC] BTL Y-Wing

I love how the nose flows together with the angles! I get what you mean with working with small pieces, when I build my 1:8 Scale Supercar MOCs some of the biggest fun is doing all the Piping and other details in the engine bay

[MOC] Would you hurt a fly?

Very cool build! I am working on a (human girl) figure from one of my favorite Anime rn, and seing how different one can build when not building a human is very interesting! Especially that "skirt" (idk what else to call it) is new to me. I would have never thought to use a rubber band to hold bricks in place, as this makes the figure very fragile. But it does look good. What happened to his wings btw? I think he would look a lot cooler if he had wings
  17. That's probably for the best. I would've tried to leave them in warm water for a while, slightly bent in the opposite direction. I think that wouldn't cause any additional damage at least, but I haven't tried if this method actually helps
  18. Amazing functionality in such a small package! Awesome!
  19. Lookoing good! Only thing I don't like is the height of the tracks. Using the smaller drive wheels and a loger trackbase would be more visually pleasing for me.
  20. Great, so you didn't miss that thread but decided to just ignore it and open a new thread anyway? Great... You just made sure I will not be answering any "Help" requests outside of the correct topic ever again. I don't want to encourage behaviour like this.
  21. You could add a 12t gear on the axle, connected to a 12t gear with a friction pin Also, at the very top of the Eurobricks Technic Page there is a thread named Generic Building Help Topic. It was created to avoid a new thread for every little problem someone might encounter. But its little use if people just ignore it and make a new thread anyway. Please keep that in mind next time you have a question
  22. @SNIPE I just tried this, and while it seems to work I don't feel this solution is advisable either. Its like a car running on massive wheel spacers: Very bad steering geometry and a lot of additional strain for the wheel hubs. Personally I'd recommend to use the Disc brakes and buy a set of Sian wheels.
  23. I really Like the MR2, I have a big MR2 poster hanging in my bedroom Overall this build is very well done, all the doors and even the pop-up headlights work, that's very cool. The sides and rear of the MOC are also very recognizable, easy to see that's a 2nd gen MR2. But I can't say the same about the front, it just doesn't look like MR2 at all to me... All in all a very well made MOC, I can see you put a lot of effort into small details as well. Well done.
