Why do I get the feeling Lego has lost its way ?

The box art screams classic 80s/90s.....but why has it left the real world and gone Sci Fi ?

Maybe just let kids chose if Darth Vader opens a coffee shop or not.

2015 was Space Port; this is Space.

Why do you always feel the need to correct someone dude? Its space exploration either way. The official site called all the sets "Space" sets. Like @Lyichir said, its basically a continuation into the narrative. I only think 2015 space was better because 1. I liked the way the sets looked....and 2. It should've stuck to the space port/program thingy it had going on instead of going into alien conquest stuff.

i saw image of new paper pack and i like this construction roller

It seems like most construction vehicles released by City now are either 4+ sets or paper packs/foil packs. Where is the full blown construction subtheme?

2021 was a great year for city personally, as they finally focused more on the theme's values and made more realistic police, instead of weird nature variations of police. They also developed brand new subthemes and started creating more variety of animals. The road plates were also a nice addition, but to me I still prefer 2022

I forgot to mention about the fact of having a new police station every year and start making the most expensive sets as different buildings, too bad the hideout never made it.

Ikr! 2022 was a milestone in the theme as not only did we have a building to represent all three first responders (police station, fire dept., and a hospital), but we also had a school, grocery store, beach tower, bank, and a train station. Neither was oversaturated over the other. They co-existed with each other.

For me the best lineup in these recent years would be 2022.

That's actually why I said 2022. 2021 also had a decent lineup for the winter wave.

    What's that?

2k Drive is a lineup of custom car related sets that's based off of the video game of the same name. Some of those sets are sold under the City theme. Basically how Fast & Furious would look like in the Lego City universe.

    2021 for me

For me, it's 2021 and 2022. As far as later years are concerned.

i think that lego city set images will release on 2 december, saturday

I'd say that sounds about right. City is usually among the last themes to get image reveals. So if not late November, definitely early December.

way overdue! like the cargo trucks and constructions sets.

......and the coast guard subtheme. Though I guess the recent divers sets kinda push those out the way. But I'd love to see either coast guard or the Res-Q theme from the late 90s to early 2000s make a comeback. Some subtheme that has to do with seaside rescue at least.

@kbalage has a great preview video up and addresses motorization. It's not designed to be motorized as it's too heavy. I'm sure someone can make it work!

I really like it and will also get it. I hope it can be motorized reasonably though, as that is likely how my kids will love it.

Dude! I saw a commercial for it on Instagram! I dunno about you all, but I'm excited about that set. Depending on the price, I may actually buy.

Are you referring to the space station? Also, we already got City Castle!

Dude! You're ages late with that joke! :roflmao:

Just saw pic of the fire plane. Not bad.....twin prop water bomber with stud scooters for water cannons.

Now, the space gear no interest at all.....what's castle or city pirates ?

i think that summer 2024 Will be biggest set release in lego city's history

Aye, if last summer was good and this summer was great (with it being mostly focused on civilian stuff), summer 2024 will be awesome.

I can see a 2024 service station with Road-plates considering they’ve not done a service station since 2020 unless you count 60389.

Nah! That's just the inside of a building. The last service center we got was in 60292 Town Center in the form of a car wash and a charging station. .

Completely agreed. I’m eyeing the houses and the hospital; the City Hospital’s been on my list for a while, but it’s just so awkwardly designed that I’ve never been able to find the space to justify buying it. This one looks like a vast improvement in that respect.

The 2022 City Hospital doesn't actually look that bad to me. Though the shape of the building gives off 50s vibes than modern day. You know with all the opened windows and spinning hospital emblem.

First look at hospital, olly and paisley’s houses, and more!

Edit: the og 5 are reunited, autumn finally got a prosthetic, and mama Mia is here with a vengeance!

I swear, Friends is more town builder friendly than City. I might actually get 42620 for the residential area in my town.

One thing Lego city don’t do enough of is busses, I’m surprised they’ve only done one double decker bus, I’d love to see a Lego city bus set again like a bus depot

A bendy bus is literally on shut up and take my money grounds. 💰  Yeah, I'm surprised about that too given that kids should know what a bus is. As a former public transit worker, I take it personal that Lego never did a full out public transit subtheme during its prime (imo, that was "Hey" generation of City). I take it personal in a playful way. Not actually serious.

i hope that we will get set with bendy bus in 2024, but i think that if lego release bendy bus, it won't have new piece, because there are some sets that have potential bendy vechles like 60271 tram. but i hope that i will have loads of bendy pieces if it ever released.
