@BricksMcgee Are custom stickers and third party electronics like sbrick allowed in the "purist" category?

Well done, is it motorized?
-
Just ordered some M and MS wheels before the website got shut down. I really hope habricks will be back with their great custom parts and maybe selling instructions instead of complete set. To be honest, I never understood how it can be profitable to create complete sets with genuine Lego bricks. It is so time consuming and you end up with high prices. However, I appreciate all the great stuff habricks did for us. So please, don't give up, don't let them destroy our hobby.

This is so bad. LEGO is beating our enthusiasm and passion for this hobby. It is so sad. I usually stay away from third party stuff (except wheels, tracks and electronics), but now I am considering taking that leap. I can understand that LEGO does not want bricks to be modified or printed. But forcing habricks to shut down completely and ruining somebody who spent so much time on our hobby ... that hurts deeply. But there are other companies which are interested in our demands and deliver. LEGO is so stupid, they should have solved the issue with some sort of agreement.

I thought the project was dead. But all of a sudden I got a mail that there is a new batch available. I am still happy with my keybricks. -

Let's put it this way: 45303 is retired for any reason but 21980 is still in production
-
45303 is still built and included in the motorized lighthouse for example. But it is not available in the store for a long time.
-
Something in between would have been great :-(

Fx Bricks (Michael Gale) announces Fx Track system
TuffTuffTuff replied to HoMa's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think there ist still a market for the brick. It also useful for other themes like technic as well. And I do not think all railroaders will switch to 9v. At least I do not have any plans. I also do not see any other alternate control units that offer light and sound in a comparable way. The brick ist great but probably has currently not that much attention due to 9v. The small speaker has not been available for years. Hope they will find some time again. -
Fx Bricks (Michael Gale) announces Fx Track system
TuffTuffTuff replied to HoMa's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I agree. The pfx brick is great and I would like to buy a lot more. But the app needs an upgrade. I miss especially the option to connect a PUP or game controller. Controlling a steam enigne with sound and light using the tochscreen feels not good. I asked the brickcontroller app developer some time ago to support pfx brick. Although he was interested, it seems to be tricky. Since the android pfx app is available on github I hope somebody can improve it. To my mind pfx brick is still the best option for trains if you want light and sound. -
Fx Bricks (Michael Gale) announces Fx Track system
TuffTuffTuff replied to HoMa's topic in LEGO Train Tech
There is a cheap chinese PF component that does it. It is water based. -
Maybe they will just change numbers :-)
-
In the protocol documention (second link) is an entry in the appendix stating ID 11 is for "System future actuator (train points)". So there seems to be something planned.
-
Maybe eventually we will get some attention from LEGO. I think there was a rumour a while back that LEGO is considering something train related with a partner (as LEGO seems to be more open that). And remember: There was also a train related meeting at skaerbaek this year that required an NDA. I expect a nice surprise for 2022 :-)

LEGO Trains Powered Up vs. Power Functions
TuffTuffTuff replied to sp1984's topic in LEGO Train Tech
If you want versatile motor options but also advanced light and sound I would go for Power Functions + PFX brick. I only miss a physical control with that setup.- 26 replies

Fx Bricks (Michael Gale) announces Fx Track system
TuffTuffTuff replied to HoMa's topic in LEGO Train Tech
@michaelgale when will the small speaker be available again? I cannot use the large one and I am holding back pfx brick orders for now. Second question: will jb-spielwaren also sell pfx bricks in the future? So I could save a lot of customs duties, taxes and fees. -
Wonderful! So many lovely details. Just amaziing how you integrated the engine in so limited space. You could also place a small container with a PU hub inside on the flat car. How does that worm screw work? Could you share a picture from below, please?

A review of circuit cubes without mentioning the elephant in the room

@zephyr1934 sounds interesting, thank you for sharing. Interesting triple axis truck construction, by the way. Does it work with R40s? -
Increasingly losing patience with Lego
TuffTuffTuff replied to SteamSewnEmpire's topic in LEGO Train Tech
At least LEGO could offer part packs such as train windows and glasses. Or just offer those at bricks and pieces. Prices on bricklink are insane. -
For future MOC presentations (contests but also forums) I would appreciate more transparency. Like telling the MOCers personal rules: - glueing - cutting - painting - stickers - third-Party parts - custom Parts Some of us accept cutting, for others it is a no-go. That is fine with me, but I would like to know. For contests I would like to see additional images without anything of list above, so I can easily see what is somewhat 'modified or custom'. It is not to blame somebody, but to understand where building limitations exist.

@UltraViolet great explanation and ideas, thank you

Any updates @keybrickone ? -
Keybrick One gives you constant output using a LiPo battery. I hope it will be available again soon.
