Day 2 : Baker The "snow pie" is a traditional Mitgardian cake, made of a creamy soft cheese mixture on a shortcrust pastry. Since every family has their own recipe, variants with additional ingredients such as raisins or a drop of honey are not uncommon. Shamelessy inspired by the Käsekuchen from Alsace and Germany. I just needed to build something tropical and summery before diving into the snowy, wintery Christmas atmosphere... One of the many fruit shacks that can be found all over the Brickonesian islands, Anuanua's is located in the luxuriant park that extends along Mahini beach. Locals and tourists all enjoy a fresh snack! For more detailed photos, please expand the spoiler area.

[AoM: Stables - Phase II] Don't Look Back
Aurore replied to Louis of Nutwood's topic in Guilds of Historica
I really love the build and the story. Quite a melancholic atmosphere, very well written and built. The roof and tree are great, with shapes that echo the sloping snow : it forms a very coherent whole. I also like the little details, such as the cat and the mouse. And the close-up photo of your character and the horse. -
@LegoMathijs Thank you!

I'm feeling tropical lately, and decided to build something different from my usual medieval-fantasy MOCs - something inspired from vintage jungle adventures and pulp fictions. I hope it's in the appropriate forum category! Every morning, Miss Aurora McGregor would walk around the little tract of jungle she now called home. Several months had passed since the plane crash, since the party sent by the Natural History Museum in search of the lost city of Kibiru got stranded in a forgotten land. Some of the survivors were desperate to come back to civilisation. Others were thrilled to discover a lost world. Aurora ... just felt like she had always belonged here.

@Redhead1982 Thank you very much! @TeriXeri Thank you! We have a classic Christmas song here in France, about how on the island of Martinique (where it's summer all year round) they decorate mango trees and Santa can't have a sleigh…and that's indeed something that came to my mind when building this MOC!

@LEGO Train 12 Volts Thank you very much!

@Mylenium Thank you!

@neonic Thank you! Yes, there are many more fruit shacks than hamburger stands in Brickonesia...not because people here are health freaks, but simply because fruit trees grow everywhere while beef has to be imported from overseas (New-Studland generally). Oh, and Brickonesians are much more into fried corned-beef than hamburgers...

This is an entry for Age of Mitardia - House Phase I. Orri Ingvarson, Horgaard's herdsman, was a happy young lad. Every summer since his coming-of-age, he would lead the small herd to the high mountain pastures. Up there, everything was quiet, everything was peaceful. He enjoyed being alone above the tree line, watching the clouds drift by of listening to the eagles' shriek. This year was a special one : the old, decaying shed where he used to spend his nights and seek refuge during thunderstorms had been demolished. With the help of all the villagers, a new one had been built a short distance further. And Orri felt there was something...odd with his new home. The floor seemed to clean itself. The dishes seemed to wash themselves. Flower bouquets seemed to appear out of thin air on the table. And his goat milk supply was depleting. Like with my previous build, you'll find below a few details on the featured flora.

@soccerkid6 Thank you very much! I'm so glad you like my flora descriptions - @Grover also suggested to compile a Mitgardian botanical index and I'll definitely do it soon!

Here is a freebuild for Mitgardia! A small scene of everyday life in Horgaard. Falconry was a serious matter in Horgaard. Generations of birds of prey had been raised and trained there : generations of powerful hunting companions, tireless war messengers, and, on at least one occasion, life-saving air fire support. Little Siggi, nine years old, already knew everything about this critical aspect of his education as a young noble. The different kinds of birds, how to handle them, and how to train them. The history of the art of falconry, the evolution of the techniques, and their regional particularities. He even knew the names and stories of all the famous birds raised by his family much better than he knew the names of their owners. However, his falconry knowledge remained desperately theoretical. He had already been allowed to fly a trained kestrel, but the adults considered him too young for a greater bird. Sooner or later, he would train his own mighty eagle. In the meantime, he had much fun handling the lure. As usual, more information on the featured flora/fauna is given in hidden text.

This is an impressive story, supported by impressive builds! The way the photos illustrate the story is very well done - for example, the amount of food on the table decreasing while the meeting is narrated. It really shows that you put a great amount of time, effort and thought into it. And, of course, the Bear Cavalrymendwarves are my new heroes.
