Adventure Supplies: Parts from other themes for Adventurers!
Aurore replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yay, that's definitely a great thread idea! Just with the newest 2021 parts, for "classic" adventurers, and without taking into account the animals who would obviously fit in all kind of adventure settings (ex. the dark anglerfish), I'd already list all the following... Minifig parts (not found on B&P) (not found on B&P) (not found on B&P) (not found on B&P) (not found on B&P) (not found on B&P) (not found on B&P) (available on B&P - Element ID 6351757) Perfect for a vintage lady of Adventure! (available on B&P - Element ID 6343689). Accessories & Equipment The small one, previously only available in red: glad to see a more subdued colour! (available on B&P for the completely surrealistic price of 19€ - Element ID 6368309 for the millionaires among us) (available on B&P - Element ID 6326425) Did not previously exist in medium nougat. (available on B&P - Element ID 6365629) Printed parts First wood grain tile in dark orange (available on B&P - Element ID 6362419) The printed globe head, which has already been mentioned but doesn't seem to be available on B&P anymore Other parts Glow in dark! (available on B&P - Element ID 6345509) A quite useful and versatile part IMO (available on B&P - Element ID 6338570) And all the new opalescent parts - perfect to decorate a lost temple or something!- 122 replies

Ooooooh what a great theme! I think it's really an amazing addition to Historica : you're not only populating it, but also fleshing out its culture! The individual sheets for each of the minifigs are just perfect. And the minifigs themselves are great too! I especially like the evil djinn, the ice elemental and (of course) the enchanted pumpkin. Background-wise, I think those looter's banes are my favourite. Great potential for reuse in stories and builds (especially with thst mention of subtle difference in browns)!

CDC2 Ancient Wonders: the Moonbird Mausoleum (Chronicles of Embervale Ep.02)
Aurore replied to Aurore's topic in Guilds of Historica
Phew! More seriously, thank you for the feedback : I'll keep it in mind next time and have the story proof-read after the photos have been taken, not weeks before... @Grover Thank you so much for this detailed review! The lute comes from the Trolls World Tour theme (sets 41254 and 41258 for the flat silver version). I'm really eager to see the new mould that will come with CMF Series 22's Bard! We'll never have too many musical instrument moulds. Also, the heart brick comes from the Monsters Fighters theme (and POTC apparently). I did not know about it either, until I stumbled upon it in the inventory of one of my favourite Bricklink sellers... @The Stad Thank you very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the story too! @socalbricks Thank you so much! I was skeptical at first with the pearl gold leaves as well, but ended up very happy with the result. They don't look metallic at all, and not even really "pearly"...On the other hand, I tried to use the orange leaves as well but thought their colour was way too saturated for this build. @jtooker Thank you very much! I'm definitely relieved the wings do look good to you (and to other commenters too)! @mrcp6d Thank you so much for that incredibly motivating comment! -

@The Stad Thank you very much! Angharad's skirt may be long, but it sure ain't flowing : it's thick leather! @mrcp6d Thank you so much! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 22. Rumors and discussion
Aurore replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Promobricks named it "Mondkriegerin", which, if my german is not too rusty, indicates a female character. I definitely hope she will be a dark elf / drow of some kind too! Oooooh, that's such a thrilling theory! Fingers crossed... -

@DwalinF ... thank you so much! I had a lot of fun with the colours... @BardDandelion Thank you very much! I went with the kind of characters I usually appreciate in series or video games. @Eyrezer Thank you so much! Those swirling minifig stands, like the one I used in green for the dryad, are indeed really great! Most - if not all - of the colours were available from B&P if I recall well. The head piece is the new remembrall from the HP theme (part #6350923) -
CDC2 Ancient Wonders: the Moonbird Mausoleum (Chronicles of Embervale Ep.02)
Aurore replied to Aurore's topic in Guilds of Historica
@Eyrezer Thank you so much! It feels so motivating to read your feedback about the wings! And for the landscape...now that you say it...that's right! I've looked for something big enough to use as a backdrop, representing a landscape with colours that would complement the build....and did not update the story. Hrm. You know, those old maps often contain information that's not relevant anymore nowadays. And Dresghar has the unfortunate tendency to write what he has in mind regardless to the reality? Makes sense, right? -
CDC2 Ancient Wonders: the Moonbird Mausoleum (Chronicles of Embervale Ep.02)
Aurore replied to Aurore's topic in Guilds of Historica
Aaah, OK - now I understand better! I indeed used a physical reproduction of the painting as the backdrop (with a little bit of good old printed paper underneath the build to blend with the scene). I had initially thought of using a screen as a backdrop too (I'm a millennial too!), but from a logistical point of view, it was easier to use a basic paper backdrop... -
Impressive! The choice of colours is beautiful and original, an the building itself looks very...classy. Great interiors too, I really like how it seems to have been designed with the story in mind!

CDC2 Ancient Wonders: the Moonbird Mausoleum (Chronicles of Embervale Ep.02)
Aurore replied to Aurore's topic in Guilds of Historica
@Frike Thank you so much! The Dragon Age vibe might not be entirely coincidental (yet subconscious), as I designed the scene and began the build while re-playing Dragon Age Inquisition... @zoth33 Thank you very much! So glad you also appreciate the story. @LordDan Thank you so much! I'm somewhat relieved the moonbird ended up looking good... @Kai NRG Thank you so much for all those kind words! I'm sure I just blushed (but no-one can see it, so it's not really a problem). I agree with you that the head looks quite...square and flat viewed straight from the front - but I have not managed to make it better. PS : the backdrop I used for some of the pictures is a painting from 1870, the "Autumn of the Hudson" by Charles Wilson Knapp! @W Navarre Thank you very much! I have to admit I had a lot of fun with the posing of the minifigs... -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Aurore replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
There's something bothering me...on the leaked photos I've seen, the torso of the "researcher with tucan" doesn't seem to be printed. Wouldn't that be weird and rather unusual? Her legs appear dual-moulded and nicely printed though. -
Oh wow, they're all so inventive! I really like that you have given your Mitgardians an eastern Europe flair. The Tzarina is absolutely gorgeous - and the winged Hussar's wings are perfect! The side builds are as nice as the minifigs themselves, I especially enjoy the Dark Elf's book! PS : then the winged hussars arrived... Great, now I have that song stuck in my head!

Meanwhile, interesting parts with a fantasy flair keep showing up in B&P. I never get tired of opalescent parts. Also, sheep! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 22. Rumors and discussion
Aurore replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Granted, the snow warrior has a white beard, but he also has a sword, shield and husky (according to Promobricks): that does not really make me think of a warrior Santa (phew!). But since the shield has a snowflake pattern, which sounds rater cartoonish to me, I also think it's unlikely he's going to have the rugged look of a Lake-town or Mongol character (unlike the Series 12 Hun warrior). I'm really looking forward to photos of that series, some of the figure do sound intriguing! -

@Garmadon Thank you very much for the answer - and for the kind words! -
Wow, excellent figs! I find the forgotten comrade especially well done - both his concept and his parts. Very nice posing for the water-bearer too, and I also really like your choice of head for the cherry picker...
-
There are some very unique concepts here! Especially the minotaur florist, the wizard - and the pumpkin pie master which is...perfect. The idea, the parts of the fig, the accessories, the nod to a previous build, what else? I also really enjoy that in Historica, owning goats is apparently the epitome of wealth!

CDC2 CMF jtooker | Hired Hands of Historica
Aurore replied to jtooker's topic in Guilds of Historica
Oh my, those custom baseplates are genius! The figs themselves look great too - the choice of accessories for the ice cutter is spot-on, but my absolute favourite is the gardener! Her expression and the matching quote are priceless! -
How great! I think the Warrior Wraith is my favourite : he really looks both menacing and jaded, which perfectly fits his description! I like the fairy too, her choice of parts are excellent.
-
What an impeccable presentation! And the minifig themselves are spot-on too. My favourite is the goo mummy - very original, excellent idea and excellent realisation! You have a great number of impressive side-build/accessories. I especially admire the telescope, very nice choice of individual parts, the whole looks absolutely gorgeous with those distinct pearl gold colours!
-
They look so great! Very neat combos, with an excellent choice of parts for each character! The Kaliphlini noble cavalryman looks especially classy, and his shield works wonderfully with his armor. And I absolutely love the cyclops, this is just the perfect helmet!

Latest info on the CMF Series 22 on Promobricks shows a few potentially interesting minifigs and new moulds for medieval-fantasy enthusiasts: - A female warrior with a moon theme (sword and shield), - A male warrior with a snow theme (sword, shield and husky), - A forest spirit with an acorn hat and a mushroom, - A bard with a lute (new mould), - A girl with a foal (new mould) (OK, it's essentially the foal that's interesting). And there is also a new tucan mould. I'll definitely order a whole box of this serie! -

My entry to the Ancient Wonders category! CDC2 Ancient Wonders: the Moonbird Mausoleum [Chronicles of Embervale Episode 2] - Guilds of Historica - Eurobricks Forums And a little question: I followed the specified pattern for the topic titles for both my CMF entry and this one, but added precisions between brackets at the end (namely, "CDC2 CMF : Aurore [Scholars & Spellcasters - and some Scammers too]" and "CDC2 Ancient Wonders: the Moonbird Mausoleum [Chronicles of Embervale Episode 2]"). Is that OK? -
I went to my LEGO store today (first time since pre-COVID times!) and came home with those three guys. While I'm pretty sure I'd already seen photos of the parts from the sombrero skeleton and snowboard skeleton, I did not knew of the torso of the science skeleton. A new female lab coat - I'm over the moon! The teal brick costume was available too, as well as the guitar, and a teal shirt torso I had not seen before either. They also had the Halloween minifigs from last year. It was the last pig though...
-
Oh my, some absolutely gorgeous combos here! Pandemonium's torso and legs, for example, really do look like they were meant to go together. Same for Rebecca's! I really appreciate that you made characters that don't actually fit in a Guild, but show that Historica is even more complex that it seems at first glance. Your introduction, your own story, your character's story and all those hindsight thoughts are incredibly interesting too. My absolute favourite is Lunarius - such a perfect minifig, such a nice use of those trans-light blue axes, and such an intriguing character! I also have a fondness for Sabrina, but I'll strongly deny it. PS: "But sir, me and the lads, we're wondering...is that a real shrunken head on your belt??"
