    Ideas for CMFs

Why haven’t I thought of a Beethoven minifigure before?!?! I study classical music. Also, in any future series of yours Robert8, what are the chances we get a new musical instrument?
  2. @Digger of Bricks thank you for the link to interview. But as far as speculation goes what could a new IP they could draw from for a minifigure series?
  3. I remember an interview like that a while back, but I couldn’t seem to find it. The idea of the designers thinking about a castle of space series intrigues me. (even if I still prefer regular series, the monsters and costumes still had the same charm, just less variety)
  4. I would welcome a castle series or a space series with open arms, as long they have the minfigure aesthetic. And it would make so many people happy too. Where can I find these designers’ quotes?
  5. Oh god no What are the chances we get one licensed, one regular, and one themed series like 18/14?

To be fair you replicate budget quite well, in that you only introduce a limited number of new pieces each series, and make effort to reuse pieces from old series. I’ll agree with you it’s not the same but your minifigures are still decently realistic, which is why many people myself like them so much. You could just stock them to the brim with historic figures that come with new animal pieces (no shots to the people who do enjoy that)
  7. Wow, I couldn’t understand the figure at first AND I was at Florida not too long ago (would have preferred a traditional gardener with overalls and watering can)
  8. At this point with future cmfs I’d rather be pessimistic and pleasantly surprised than just disappointed over again. I’m still not happy it’s this way at all...
  9. I’m sad to the reaction too - as I really like this series. They were designed to have something for everyone, and I think this series does well for everyone, even if it’s a bit high on the City figures. But I think it’s creativity is going strong and they still manage to make many fun characters even if the non-licensed are much rarer now. I hope that Lego themselves doesn’t see the reaction critically, as it may give them ideas of wrapping up this theme entirely (a dystopian future for many of us here)
  10. Overall I’m very pleased with this lineup! I’m so happy to finally have another cmf series to collect. There are a couple figs I still need clarification on: #5, is it some sort of hacker? Or robot programmer? #8, is it a fire warden? I can’t see why they wouldn’t just make a detailed fireman, fit for cmf style (like series 9 police) #9 Guy picking up dog poop? I apologize for not understanding some of these - I’m sure more will be clear once they are out. Im just so curious.
  11. That’s a very interesting archetype to be made officially by Lego, I’m certainly don’t dislike it, but it’s just unexpected. And the minifig makes sense that way, too.
  12. Ah, that makes more sense. So like a gardener minifig? It’s different, I would have expected a watering can, but a new flamingo is welcome too.
  13. I really like this series so far - and I’m glad, because I found series 17 a letdown. It continues the trend of the green series’ always being my favorite, even is green has been done often. I’m very glad to see an official shower time guy, considering it was one the first Ideas I thought would be great, long before I joined eurobricks or saw @Robert8‘s designs. The monkey king... is interesting, something I would have never expected, but it grows on me. The Egyptian fig is welcome, as is the new sci-fi and rugby player, and some of the other ones confuse me for now (flamingo???) I’m curious to see the other 5 and where the dachund will be for. Also, a question, what are the odds these get released early, because I’d like to get some hopefully before September.
  14. I have... regrettably, considering he’s not at place on a collectors display, ironically. Although as a lover of non-licensed cmfs it wouldn’t be right not to include him, he’s part of the group. Just the part of the collection that is only ever talked about. I cant deny that he has a recognizable face for people, like in Lego stores above the shelves and other places.

They could make new designs for spooky knights forever and Id love every single one of them. I hope this is just the beginning
  16. I think we’re all with you there. Although the policeman was not something I particularly liked, just preferred
  17. As a collector, I think that would be great. Exclusive prints and a small build representing the series. I think it could work well.
  18. Oh my god... these minifigures looks amazing! I’ve been looking forward for so long and there two might end up being some of my favorites in the series. The bear looks surprisingly good even though I like colorful figs (like Npop girl from ninjago series) and the undead knight looks better than I could have imagined. It’s like what myself and many people have been waiting for (as series 15’s knight didn’t do it for me). If the rest of the figs turn out this good.
  19. Where has the pic gone? I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Also if it was the leaflet, what was the color? I’m so eager to finally see some new minifigs
  20. I always thought of gingerbread woman as one of those funny female counterpart figs in the series, like Lady Cyclops and Lady Robot But seeing her as an actual minifigure is so much cooler than I would thought
  21. Are there any jobs available? I am totally not worried that they aren’t running out of ideas, if non-licensed series will be coming out only every couple years I’ll take anything (except maybe more costumes). I sometimes wonder though, if Lego may not deem there to be enough ideas
  22. My apologies, I meant new figures they could make in a series - as opposed to costumes with headgear
  23. It always bothered me how the more recent series (which aren’t even that recent ) have gone with multiple costumes because I’ve always seen them as a waste of a slot, and I’m just a collector. I imagine it’s worse for someone who uses specific minifigures. I’d gladly welcomed more outlandish ideas especially if TLG is “running out of ideas” or willingness considering the long wait for a non-licensed. Although I have to ask, what are some examples of a figure with animal headpieces? The anticipation is killing me for this, especially with the heightened activity for this thread. What are the chances we get a wildcard pick we aren’t expecting like the Satyr? I’m actually not worried that they’ll be a sci-fi themed minifig, along with some army-builder style because they usually have at least one slot for those themes.
  24. Dog Groomer would make the most sense, allows for cool prints and maybe another accessory while working well with other city characters But really just the fact we’re getting a new animal makes me excited
  25. Yes please, I’m a fan of castle and pirates figs - and they usually do at least one or two historic ideas I can just hope they are worthwhile. As for the shepherd, isn’t it true that there have been shepherd rumors for many series’ now? I’d would like for them to finally make it. Also for a sheep mould
