[Lego IDEAS] Native American Settlements
Jack Sassy replied to Padlix's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
You're right about that one (honestly, that makes sets like 6766 and 6748 seem a bit funny), though it is quite a shame. From one side it could be viewed as 'let your kids reenact white folks slaughtering native villages for their own purposes' or it could be viewed as 'let your kids learn about native traditions and lifestyle'. Still, it's a wild west-themed set, so of course I'll support it. -
[Opinion] Review of the new road plates system (2021)
Jack Sassy replied to The Lego Room's topic in LEGO Town
What? Well actually it is pretty much 100% Lego because TLG own it now. I was talking about baseplates alone, no buildings whatsoever (you can construct those yourself) and when comparing 60304 with, say 7281 then yes, about two sets of 7281 cost the same as 60304, making it same amount of road for each. But like I said previously, there is Bricklink which is used by at least half of Lego builders, therefore old baseplates are cheaper than new plates (for now.) If you wish, friend. You can't start an argument and then say that you're done with it though. -

Jack Sassy replied to The Lego Room's topic in LEGO Town
On Bricklink, these road baseplate sets cost about 6 euros, making it cheaper than in stores, so therefore you're half-right on that subject. Also, baseplates are still being included in sets (only modulars though.) There was time when they were included in so many sets, allowing more people to own them and sell for acceptable prices on BL. See it for yourself, really one of greater privileges of that site is that you can buy retired baseplates for about the same price they were in stores. (Also it's been a few months since introduction of these new road plates. Some stores are still selling old ones. ) -

Review: All Terrain Trapper
Jack Sassy replied to Mr Maniac's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Good review, there's always been something cunning to me about that name Cunningham . I guess this is one of those sets where either you feel bad for the bad guys and make them as good guys, or you make dinosaurs the good guys. The whole Adventurers theme feels like something that inspired Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (okay, that reminds me that I still regret not getting any Indy sets, despite the fact that it's one of my favorite themes ever, damn you Lego!)- 5 replies

DC Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Jack Sassy replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I like your ideas, there could be another one experimented with - Penguin's christmas parade from Batman Returns, I would love to get a Max Shreck figure (good excuse for having a Christopher Walken figure). -
Ah yes, the infamous Farm sub-theme by BLX, where Johnny Thunder's European brother feeds a concrete pony. (Phtoshop on this one is spot-on!)

Wait what? *checks Brickset* No...I've been living all my life in a lie!!

Wrong again, it's actually Legoland sets, they were doing so well for so many years, until discontinued in 1989, never to be seen again...

Zach probably wanted people to buy his drugs (most likely reason why he was called the maniac).

Hey, hey, hey! Let's not debate which theme has the true Lego fans. We all know Pirates fans are real Lego fans. (I'm just joking, I believe that a true Lego fan is a person who loves any Lego theme whatsoever.)

I prefer expanding my collection with individual pieces, it saves time and money. You're quite right about that. -

[Opinion] Review of the new road plates system (2021)

I'm supposing by forbidden route you mean buying the set? I could, but let alone pieces are those black sails, minifigures (not that I don't have Jack and Gibbs), and the flag, especially the flag. I do believe that building the MOC would cost me less, besides I have to think where I spend my money, ever since I spend a sum of it on bricks and other sum on music albums (they cost at least 20 euros each now). -

Good for you. I was thinking of building a MOC of it but if i ever do, I'll have to do it from the scratch. Those hull pieces in black are 20 euros each on BL, though older versions from a castle set are 10 euros each, so that might do. -

I guess it's what makes us do things what we do, the fact that we don't always get what we want makes us strive for achieving these things, yet we don't and continue chasing it all our lives. It's a scary concept really. (I never did get that Black Pearl set.) -
*khem* Mega Bloks *khem* I guess they copy from whatever set they have obtained. I for one have never seen a knockoff version of 70413.

[Opinion] Review of the new road plates system (2021)
Jack Sassy replied to The Lego Room's topic in LEGO Town
I think these new road plates are rather good for kids. I like the concept of connecting many sets together, to create one huger thing. But this one is clearly more expensive. Not all parents will be able to afford this stuff. Also I think they should've kept road baseplates (even though they would sell way better that new ones). It's sad to see Lego abandon this design, but I guess all good things must come to an end. -
Not sure to which brand it belongs to, but yes, it is fake. What indicates it, is said in the last picture - gap between legs and no logo. Where did you buy this pony? After doing some research I couldn't find a grey pony on sale anywhere, which just indicates that it's a fake even further. I'm having my suspicion that it might be one of a kind made by a small manufacturer (possibly private). Good thing for you to have such thing, though in my personal experience they are made out of plastic that is from more toxic chemicals than Lego. Not a reason not to keep it though. (Just to clarify, officialy pony mold has only appeared in two Lego sets and in one color, which is brown, correct?)

Jack Sassy replied to Yannis81's topic in Pirate MOCs
Wow, that is really super. It is amazing, that you've built such a vessel, though just like any other Lego ship, she has balance problems, that can never be solved. I guess maybe you could try putting some more weight at the front, and as for the sides - maybe it should be wider. I'm not criticizing her, you've an amazing job on this vessel and I'm interested to see if there could be done some improvements in the future.- 8 replies
