Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Portal Out replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
I’ve been staring at this garbled mess for 10 minutes straight and I genuinely cannot tell if it’s real or not. Like there are a bunch of areas that seriously hurt my brain to look at, it has all the telltale signs of an AI generated image, and some parts don’t even look like Lego. Not to mention how bizarre and inaccurate the color choices and layout are for an 18+ display set. But at the same time, this matches the description EXACTLY and there are techniques that I don’t think an AI could come up with. I also noticed that the figs are placeholders, which I don’t think an AI would pick up on, but would make sense if this pic was snapped really quickly at an in person event like a toy show or a fan media day (there’s even a little plaque with renders of the figs next to the model in that case). I’m not even gonna try to make a final guess, if I look at this image much longer I’m afraid I might have a stroke. -

Honestly these are just OK. My fault for hyping myself up so much over this last year. The only one that I'd say is actually a letdown is the Well of Souls. It was my most anticipated set, but it's pretty much just a big wall, two identical builds for statues, and a big open floor with not nearly enough snakes. The figs look awesome though, and I'll reserve judgement until we get better pics. -

Yup, it's been banned on Lego Ideas for years (otherwise I would've submitted a project by now). -

Just in case your day wasn't already overflowing with Lego news, it appears that Square Enix is holding a vote to see which location from Final Fantasy VII fans want to see them turn into a large-scale Lego build. I honestly doubt this is official at all, but I'm still excited to see which one wins (I'm totally voting for Aerith's house). Anyways here's the Tweet: -

Wow, it looks like they made new molds for every figure in that Deku Tree set! Is Navi printed on a clear minifigure heard? I’m pretty happy with both builds too, even if they’re supposedly just prototypes. I just hope we don’t have to wait too long to see better pictures (people are guessing this is a 2024 set and I really hope it’s not!) -

Hey guys, I posted my Hollow Knight project on this form a couple of years ago and we're finally almost at 10k! At the time of posting this we have less than 30 to go, so I would SUPER appreciate it if any of you guys would be willing to drop by and leave your support! Who knows, you might even be the ten thousandth https://ideas.lego.com/projects/66cf4c6c-8932-49af-8445-6443ca1cd6bc -

I’m excited to see which hat piece they’ll using for Short Round. I’m guessing it’ll be the Stranger Things hair-hat combo even though the hair isn’t that accurate, but they’ll probably just go with the regular baseball cap piece since Mola Ram is for sure going to have a crazy new helmet mold. edit: after posting this, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m officially out of things to say about these rumors. See you all when new leaks come out. -

It's gotta be the Well of Souls for me. The original was one of my favorite sets as a kid (if I go digging on the old family computer back home I could probably an old brickfilm or two I made with it), and the idea of an expanded version with more figs, more brick built detail, and modern parts is super exciting! Really curious to see how Lego is going to handle the ark build this time around too. And I know it's not really in the scene, but a 1x1 print of the headpiece would be the icing on the cake. Welcome to the forum! -

Hasbro is having an Indiana Jones livestream tomorrow. I know Lego kinda reveals stuff on their own schedule, but it’s exciting to see reveals are starting! -

If they did a $10 set that was just Indy, a fridge, and a prairie dog, I unironically think it would sell well. -

Just this past week, they altered their open license for D&D, and now third parties that make things like idea books or manuals have to pay 25% royalties. While that’s not totally unheard of, it’s still pretty crappy that they withdrew their support of the community like that; like imagine if Lego started charging Mechabricks or Bickset for using their trademarks. Unfortunately for them, they announced this like a day before they announced the D&D Ideas contest winner, so that good press was totally buried by this controversy.
