  1. I always feel a bit short-changed being a HP fan as this theme always seems to be the one with the least amount of information known. We know about sets for a lot of other themes but still a very small amount about HP for next year 😅

Also built the Fluffy set last night… feel like the Tower was a bit of a waste and parts better used to make a 8x8 Winged Keys section next to the Devils Snare. That sticker inside the cone was painful to do 😅😂

Hopefully this is allowed on here, for fans of the current Diagon Alley check out the shops that Scarlett Patronus has made on Instagram .. they’re brilliantly done .. there aren’t any pictures of them with the current Diagon Alley ( yet ) but they look a perfect match 😍

I second this; big fan of@Scarlet_Patronus's MOCs.

Wow, thanks so much both! Glad to hear you’re fans 😄 We’re building the opposite side of the Alley so will definitely be spamming our Instagram when we have pics! Sadly, we’re both separated from our LEGO collection due to the pandemic - been instructing our poor parents to get the parts for us over FaceTime! - but can’t wait to put all the MOCs and the set together 😄

To each their own but I wouldn't mind if they'd just recolored the existing Niffler piece :shrug_oh_well:

I think this would be the best way to do it for sure!

Might be another controversial opinion, but I actually hope the HBO series isn’t about Harry, Ron and Hermione. I’d love to see more of Hogwarts but their story is done IMO and I think to “expand” the wizarding world, you have to do just that; focus on new characters and new storylines.

FB is wrapping up the 3rd film next week , looking forward to seeing it 2022 :excited:

    I didn’t know that! Very exciting 😁

I might be in the minority, but I would love to see some more FB sets down the line. Especially if there will be more Hogwarts in the next three films. A young Newt and Leta would be too cute not to get as figures. 😍

  5. I think there’s a stronger chance that the AC ties into an existing set (The Burrow, Slug Club) than tie into a set we don’t have yet (Grimmauld Place). We could see a Grimmuld Place set this year though!

A stand-alone PoA Hogsmeade AC would work really well IMO and be something different we haven’t really seen before, but I don’t think there’s enough “Christmassy” stuff that really happens in PoA to warrant that.

Based on getting Slug Club Ginny in the CMF - where we didn’t see any Yule Ball figs! - this sways me more toward the idea of a Burrow-themed AC. We didn’t get a Lupin figure in the Burrow, or Fred and George. Add those to the trio and you’ve got your figure line-up!

It's been mentioned a few times already, but I don't think it's going to be cancelled any time soon as the theme is very successful (it's one of best selling themes according to the financial statement of LEGO last year) and there's still plenty of sets that they can make.

Just look at the popularity of the Moments sets! Historically, I think the only reason LEGO have pulled the theme in the past is due to falling sales/interest in the HP line... this reboot has captured the magic of Potter perfectly, where previous lines haven’t. I think the HP line is here to stay as long as sales for the sets are high. :)

I don’t think you can get the MboM in the UK I’ve been looking for ages and finally gave up and just ordered diagon alley yesterday and only got the ice rink gwp

I’m having issues too - if I checkout as guest I seem to get it but not when I login as a VIP... will I be able to get the points transferred over?

If anyone else is struggling, I added everything to my cart before signing in, got the GWP and then it remained in the bag whilst I signed in during checkout. Just in case anyone else is having that issue too!!

  8. I’m just curious, as here in the UK we are in another national lockdown ... I assume that a lot of LEGO stores will have been sent stock of the MBoM to fulfil the GWP promotion. What will happen to that stock? Do you think LEGO will just wait until the stores re-open to run the promotion, or will they be available for general sale? ??‍♀️

  9. I’d like to see Gringotts andBorgin& Burke’s taking the $250 slot as one set! Each of the DA “modules” are ~$90 (excuse my conversions, I’m English!) so that’s $90 for B&B with the remaining budget left over for a superb Gringotts build + dragon + cart and tracks play feature. Borgin & Burkes is also notable in Half Blood Prince, which would mean that only one set of figures are required for both locations (e.g. characters as they are older). This would also complement WWW nicely ? that’s my hope anyway!

  10. I hate to bring up an old argument again, BUT... is there a possibility that the £250 could be a microscale Hogwarts add-on to the 2018 D2C? Do we know whether the £250 price indicates whether it’s also a D2C or not? If it’s not a D2C then we can ignore my comment :P

  11. “Might as well get yer uniform,” said Hagrid, nodding towards Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions.”

This MOC is of Madam Malkin’s Robes for all Occasions from the wizarding world of Harry Potter! Located in Diagon Alley, London, the robe shop kits out young witches and wizards with their Hogwarts school robes!

The model is based off the recreation of Madam Malkin's Robes for all Occasions in Universal Studios Florida, with inspiration drawn from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone book. The purple bay window and large silver scissors above the doors give the shop its recognisable appearance in the alley. Light blueish grey masonry bricks have been used to create a “worn” texture, blended with lavender log bricks.

Inside the shop, the ground floor offers a workspace for Madam Malkin, complete with sewing machine, stool and scissors to tailor each set of Hogwarts robes. A mannequin, donned in a pointed black witch’s hat, stands pride of place in the window display.

On the upper level, there are a variety of different hats of offer; from a bright purple turban, to a graduation cap, to black bowler hat reminiscent of the Minister for Magic himself. There are stylish glass panel displays housing fine jewellery, and eager eyes will spot Hermione’s Yule Ball dress in the top window.

This build was inspired by the scale of the 2011 Diagon Alley set. Keep your eyes peeled for a magical update of this build in line with the 2020 Diagon Alley D2C set…

  12. “The sweetshop’s rather good, and Zonko’s Joke Shop's frankly dangerous.”

This MOC is of Zonko’s joke shop from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! The joke shop is located in the non-Muggle village of Hogsmeade, and, to Filch’s dismay, keeps Hogwarts students stocked with the most mischievous tricks Fred and George can get their hands on!

50262787478_a5a640cf07.jpgZonko's with Logo by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr

The model is based off the recreation of Zonko’s joke shop in Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, with inspiration drawn from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban book and film. Snow covers the roof of the build to capture the small village’s wintry appearance and stickers above the large red windows recreate the playful shop signage.

Inside the joke shop, the recognisable red and black flooring has been recreated using various shapes of tiles. The red shelves and window displays are adorned with fireworks, Fanged Frizbees, and stacks of joke boxes.

The shop continues on the upper floor, with fake magic wands and more boxes displayed in the windows. A large circular table with ice cream pieces takes pride of place. A trolley filled with tricks can be pushed along the cobbled streets of Hogsmeade.

Here’s how it looks in real life!

50298245196_f641a15bf0.jpgZonko's Real Life by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr

The journey of getting from “render to real life” began with a build on Bricklink Studio. From there, pieces were picked from our existing collection of LEGO. Any others were sourced on LEGO’s Bricks & Pieces service and Bricklink, or substituted for alternatives we already owned. The model was finally assembled when all pieces had been gathered. Any thoughts or feedback would be welcomed!
