  1. Have you tried to email the pictures or use google drive or something like that?
  2. I'm happy that you found the problem. I wish you good luck with fixing it without having to rebuild the complete thing.
  3. I have been looking at the manual and from what i see, it is 16t gear from step 12 on page 305 that drives the red gear behind the white clutch gear. The axle it is on also has the 8t gear which drives the white clutch gear. That same axle, is connected with the axle that comes from the electric motor and drives both the red gear and the clutch gear. This means that the red gear must not grip the axle that it is on, but transmit its rotation to the 16t gear that you have placed on step 15 on page 293. This then drives the gear selector axle via 2 16t gears. I hope this helps you enough, or else I have to rebuild it myself and see what happens then
  4. Congrats to the winners. Well deserved! Thank you to those who voted for me. I already suspected I would become last, but gaining 4 sympathyvotes is more than expected . Onward to the next contest and in the meantime learning more about Studio 2. After trying to recreate my balloon there, it showed a few points of error. Apparently it is an impossible build, unless you flex the structure a bit.
  5. I just watched your video and that made your entry much more awesome . All those functions, if only it was possible to fly with it And I just love those tiny planes! So tiny yet so recognizable as a plane.
  6. Thanks! Totally agree with you. On the other hand, some planes/copters in the contest do look awesome. And we were not the only ones thinking outside of the box, like the aston martin or the propeller launcher.
  7. Hello all, As the title said, I have been lurking on the forums for quite a while. Almost exclusively on the Technic Theme Part, because that's what I enjoy the most. A little about me: I'm Stefan, born and raised in the Netherlands since 1984. Been building Technic since a very early age, such a long time ago that I cannot remember when it was. 3 Moments I can still remember (in no particular order): One is buying the Forklift Transport 8872 with my parents in a store around 30 minute drive from my house. Second one is buying the Air Tech Claw Rig 8868 for 230 gulden with 230 1-gulden coins. The sales-employee was not to happy about that, but I was. Long time saving those coins and finally a huge Technic set. The third memory is me telling my grandfather that I would teach him how to build things from Lego Technic. I was 8 years, or even younger, but definitely not older because he passed away when I was 8. I entered my dark age around my 13th and got back into it 3 years ago. At that moment my little nephew was 2 years old and every week I saw him and build something different to play with together. At his request I build some fun things: Tow trucks with 3 winches, tiny tracked RC racers and a car transporter on tracks. Recently I found Stud.io 2 on Bricklink and used that for the Technic Competition 15 here on the forum, which is also the reason to come out of hiding .
  8. 16. Hot Air Balloon A simple, huge hot air balloon with a whopping total of 1 function. The door in the basket can be opened and closed. The total size is 50 cm diameter with a height of 100 cm (approximately) WARNING: The video is quite uneventful... And last but not least: The Discussion Topic
  9. First off, I have been lurking on this forums for quite a while as unregistered, but this contest made me sign up and build something. Somewhere in the replies I read someone wondering if a Hot Air Balloon was being built. So... Challenge Accepted! I started in Stud.io 2 where I found out that alignment of axles is quite annoying. Also the lack of strength and parts made me ditch the way of the Axle. Next step was using the axles and connectors as a guide to build it with liftarms. This didn't work either, to flimsy and the smaller end didn't come close to a usable width. 10,5 studs instead of 10 or 11. I did made it from Lego, but no pictures of the true building process. To get both ends together I decided the balloon had to be a ball shape, the easy way out. This worked better, but it was still flimsy and not that nice on the eyes. On to strengthening the thing. This worked for me. Sturdy, round and nice. Then upon building it, the lack of parts came around again. So instead of 8 ribs I had to settle for 4 ribs. This also made it easier to put in the basket. In Studio 2 it looked quite nice putting both of them together: Still not satisfied, because that happens when being a perfectionist, I tried to design different rings for the ribs to connect to. All where to big, so I went for something smaller (and much more complicated) And no, the colours are not final, but easier to see the difference of the parts. As this wasn't working for me either, since 8 ribs was a few to many, I searched for a way of getting a 6 way connector. Small, simple and quite usable. All that was needed now was a way of creating sturdy ribs and enough parts to do 6 of them. I started again in Studio 2 and got to a point where I thought it would be better to continue with real bricks. And as said before, no reallife progress pics. But it ended as quite a large Hot Air Balloon with many reinforcements... Without those, it would collapse instantly. The weight made it hard to assemble, but it worked well enough. As to functions: The tiny door in the basket can be opened and closed. Final pics of the finished Balloon Thanks for looking/reading. Epicentre / Stefan
