  1. Dr. Pershing is that you? I really do hope this is a hint to an upcoming set/figure and not a farewell

    Updating Your Minifigs

Regarding Kyle's head i've seen most customs use young Jor-El face (also expensive), or I'd propose my solution, although I'm always on the lookout for a better torso than the old 90s adventurers I'm using at the moment
  3. Would love such a wave, the only things missing for me are ways to get Kyle Katarn and Cade Skywalker

    Updating Your Minifigs

Whoa, those are awesome! And also thanks for reminding me of that comic, it's been a long time since I last checked it and while it's a pity they've stopped updating for the moment I still have a lot of unread strips to discover :)
  5. I was wondering where those wall panels are looking at the final model, I'm guessing they're part of the internal structure if they can be substituted. Anyway it's always nice realizing you already own a good percentage of the pieces needed to part out a model, good luck with the remaining orders. Regarding my last purchase, I wanted to take advantage of double VIP points to get a couple of S@H exclusive sets and being way below the free shipping price tag I started adding pieces to make a couple of the nice STAPs from the new BP. Then I remembered about this Crab Droid and added the pieces to make three of them (with a couple of tweaks/substitutions). Satisfied with a total finally over the free shipping cost I then went and added the Mando Spider Tank to the order -also a Lego store exclusive in Italy, which would have spared me the hours on B&P- because why not? Oh well, I'm happily waiting for the mail while the wallet is a bit less happy.
  6. I went to my local store last Saturday, hoping to find some new releases but the shelves were still empty after the Christmas rush. So I resigned myself and went nextdoor to grocery shop, and in their small toy aisle I found a lonely pirate snub-fighter 30% off which immediately went to my cart :D
  7. Better late than never, and I myself am even more late to comment on this wonderful wave. Let me start by thanking you for the mention and compliments, I also quite like your rendition of the Predator and both this and the last Interceptor (which I built right after finishing on my project, so too late to overhaul the ball part) are giving me quite a few ideas on how to tweak and better my build, I'll have to get started on a Mk II =D And to answer your question it is simply a lesser seen TIE variant in the MOC community from the Legends comic Legacy, and technically not even a TIE-series, as it has four engines instead of two. QIE, maybe? :D Anyway it comes from the Ostrander-Duursema team and I've always liked the idea of a "TIE" without pylons connecting the solar panels directly to the ball cockpit as the evolution of the craft went on. Keeping with Legends I also really enjoy your Zahn-style Z95, and as many I'd love for a Legends-tribute set such as this to exists, NGL, they'll have me at "Kyle Katarn minifig". Following up, that Acclamator is really something to be proud of, I love how it fulfils its role of a troop carrier and the speederbike play feature, and also how it manages to have the interior details such as the bridge while looking sturdy and imposing, and it pairs well with the rest of the prequel-era lineup you have. Some more scattered comments: - Both N1s are gorgeous, the Mando housewarming party is a nice fun idea and the scale of that Vulture looks perfect to me, maybe not true minifig-scale but just the right size for such a playset - I agree with the BARC-fatigue sentiment and would love a Crab Droid against the 212th, but your BARC designs have always been strong - Nice to see some love for Tales of the Jedi with the duel and it really works in its simplicity - Both dioramas are something that should really be official sets by now, and I'm afraid the only reason we'll never see the "No disintegrations" one on shelves is because of LEGO reticence of putting that many expensive/desirable minifigs in the same non UCS/D2C set All in all I agree that were this to be an official wave my wallet would not be happy, keep up the good work =) p.s. I realised I never actually commented on the last community wishlist before this one and I'll sneak some congratulations for your rendition of the V-19 from that wave also
  8. Quoting @joebiwankenobi from the 2024 Thread here because my comment was more wishlisty than warranted in the news thread If they decide to commit to more ep I sets this year my best case scenario would be a new MTT for the 160USD slot and a midi scale Royal Starship similar to this year's Executor or next years' predicted Invisible Hand. Also a shoutout to @Mandalorianknight and @ArrowBricks for keeping this thread alive in the last few weeks =)
  9. Thank goodness for that, I can rest without worry now :D
  10. Love the news, always been a fan of KOTOR and Fives is one of my favorite clones, if not n°1 at least in the top 3, and if this escamotage opens the doors to legends characters I can start dreaming for an official Kyle Katarn. The only thing I'm afraid about now is for TLG to pull the rug under our feet and make the figures golden as with HP and Ninjago's anniversaries. I can take a "25" backprint as with the 2019 ones, but please let them be with regular prints.
  11. The only thing that comes to mind is "Yes, I would like to buy some deathsticks".
  12. Thanks to a combination of store points and a flash sale I got the new Gunship with a nice discount, can't wait to find the moment to build it. (And then MOD the hell out of it).
  13. Bless amazon warehouse deals, I just got a Fett Throne Room 35%off for a bruised box but complete and mint set otherwise. Still have to finish the build but I'm mostly happy about the minifigs and to have snagged a set I wouldn't have considered buying without at least a 30%discount, which here in Europe is almost a mirage.
  14. Always been a fan of alternate builds that try to evolve from the canon vehicle and this one looks perfect, I could see it being deployed as the command vehicle surrounded by 3 ISPs as a fast recon unit or two of them carrying a squad of 9 troopers + 1 sergeant/officer (are those numbers still canon? I cannot remember). All in all a nice little MOC :)

    [MOC] Millennium Falcon

That's a wonderful looking model, love the choice of an unusual scale. I do agree with the above comment and now think that the mandibles could be a plate thicker, but didn't notice the "issue" (very heavy quotemarks, but I'm not finding a less heavy word than "issue") before reading that, so it's not even that evident to me :D Keep up the good work, and kudos for giving the Solo version some love.
  16. Got the Tie Bomber during amazon prime days, it's a very enjoyable build, downsizing notwithstanding. Also a nice way to get an arm-printed Vader :)
  17. Up until now I was hoping for a reprieve, for someone to confirm that the 200$ buildable Chewbacca was a joke, a misread by some leaker, some concept idea that was never to be acted upon. Unfortunately ti was true, and I can't help but wonder if there will be someone who will buy it at full price because they really enjoy it - not for a review, not to re-sell, not as a part pack, just to build it and proudly display it.
  18. This would be the first quote diorama I'd probably buy at full price without batting an eye, if done correctly

    M4-23 Winners!

Congratulations everybody, I really enjoyed seeing everyone's beautiful builds and finally challenging myself to build something from scratch after too long :)

    [MOC] Vulture Droid

That is a really nice vulture, love the angle with the click hinges for the walking mode
  21. I managed to nab the Interceptor+Fang Fighter dual pack 30% off from amazon, I really did not expect it to get a discount this soon =)

[M4-23 - Minifigure Habitat] - ILM model makers

The more I look at it the more details pop up, and I really like that "pixar" lamp =D
  23. I usually don't build MOCs, I dabbled in alternate builds sometimes, some MOD here and there, but I tend to limit myself to the instructions provided, while appreciating and looking with wonder at the works of others. Then came this contest and the Imperial Ship category gave me the push to try something that I'd been mulling over for some time: build a TIE Predator (or, to be correct, a Predator-Class Fighter) that could pass for an official playset. So between some slow night shifts and a couple of weeks off work I put myself to work and here it is: Pred_test_8 This ship is the standard Imperial (both Sith and Exiled) starfighter in 137 ABY, from the now Legends comics Star Wars Legacy. It is a step-up from the earlier TIE/ln having both a limited Hyperdrive and shields without sacrificing cargo capacity, and seats one pilot, in this case Captain Gunn Yage. Pred_test_9 Pred_test_4 Pred_test_3 The four ion engines are powered by the omnipresent solar panels which in flight mode run angled from the cockpit, while retracting parallel when the ship docks. Pred_test_6 This results in more visibility for the pilot, although only squad leaders were granted ships with the traditional octagonal window, the rest of the squad had to conform to a slatted front canopy. The fighter is armed with four laser cannons around the central canopy and, in keeping with the playability aspect I was going for, two of them can easily be replaced by stud-shooters if desired. Pred_test_7 All in all what I wanted was to build something with at least some play-features AND sturdy enough that could be swooshed by a child, and that's where I came across some hurdles: I had not free-built since before I was a teen, never used stud.io and decided that for my first try I wanted to build a BALL with moveable but also lockable wings. Stud.io was surprisingly easy to learn, and I finally found a way to use in my life the trigonometry I learned in high school (read "I cheated and used an online angle calculator, but still got to use Pythagoras'), but the fact I was not able to test how sturdy of a build it was irked me quite a lot. So I unloaded into a bin the ziploc bags with my dismantled sets and built one, and here it is, in all its prideful technicolor glory! Hope you enjoy the build, good luck everyone.
  24. Indeed they were, I went through quite a lot of iterations and tests with different parts before the final result, which unfortunately sacrifices aesthetic faithfulness to the source in order to be sturdy enough -as stated one of my goals was to build something as close to a playset as possible. I still am satisfied with the solution because not only it gets the wings at the correct angle, but is strong enough to not dismantle if I were to pick it up and shake it like a lunatic (or an 8 year old), I did test it exactly that way =D
  25. Thanks, I knew I was forgetting something :D
