  1. @Filipe128 Not a problem at all. Your build looks really good, can you share the build file? I decided to go with the Powered up for 3 main reasons 1. I have enough motors and hubs, 2. Lego released multi hub programming in the app and 3. I did not want to have to buy a 2nd Ev3 brick as well as the 3 additional motors. It was a challenge to use the xL powered up motors but with the right gearing down and a variation of what Akiyuki did with his new design I made it work.   2. @Filipe128 here is the link to the studio file I started to work on. I have since gone in a different direction and used Powered Up motors and basically made my own design with keeping the basket rotation. The robot is complete and now I am working on a more efficient program and the peripheral build.   4. You have done a really good job converting the container module to mechanical a version it is no easy task. It is definately a lot easier to use Ev3 and Powered up (albeit new challenges can arise with programming ). Are you looking to do some instructions or share a Stud.io file.I am looking forward to building it.

  12. @rskamen I re-engineered most of the v2 (all of the major components and the control circuit) and started work on the v3 (but it is on hold for now). If there is any chance of getting the newer v3 that would be handy
  13. It sure was and that was where my GBC journey started. I have finished the build and it works repetitively well. I did have to use the new Powered Up/Control Plus motors as I dont have enough small Ev3 motors. The powered up stuff is not the best so it does have some latency problems but it does demonstrates the process well
  14. Perhaps a different perspective of the same idea .... But mostly centering lines, strengthening the frame and simplifying. I also visualize how it will be constructed which then changes how it is designed. Akiyuki is a brilliant master builder and can create new ideas that out strips me however I have found that builds that he does that are not intended to have instructions for are more free build and need some review so they can be recreated more easily (this, the tracked robot arm and the ball cleaner for example all of which I have built). The catch and spin was a perfect build that worked first time and didn't need MODing (apart from the new 20T gear in place of the turntable). Finally Akiyuki's build are a lot of fun to build and modify and make better so why not! Edit: On with the build and a few more changes. The turntable at Joint 4 with the black 5x7 frame was only connected at the top. There was no real way to add pins to the bottom of the frame because the supports for the gears were in the way. I have changed it to support the axles and gears with a red H beam and double pin/axle to connect the 5x7 frame to the turntable. This eliminates friction between the frame and turntable due to the cantilever effect. @Ankoku This is my modified 4-axis version of Akiyuki's track robot. There is still a little work to get the ball bucket right but nearly there. If I get a second Ev3 or Lego releases extension cables I can mount the new 3 axis wrist to the tracked robot arm
  15. Hello Everyone, I have knocked up a Stud.io file for the new for Akiyuki's 3 axis wrist. There is a couple of modifications to motor placements, one gear change and some structural stuff in the main body. I plan to build it shortly to test it out.   16. I am building one that is loosely based on Akiuki's robotic arm that ran on a track. the build is 95% done with the programming to do. It is a 4 axis robot arm that only uses 1 Ev3 brick. I do plan to at least upload the design files when it is done, we will see if I do instructions or not, not sure yet. After that I plan to do another 4 axis robot arm along these lines
  17. Thanks @Ankoku for the tag. @Innocity Lego pneumatics can be a little fickle to get right as well as wear out really fast, that said they can also be a lot of fun to work with. I do like the build you have made and it is on my build list too (albeit it down the line a bit). Looking at what is happening in your video and what you have mentioned, the Lego pumps cannot keep up with the air volume your require to run the machine smoothly. As Ankoku said air tanks will smooth out peaks and troughs of required air volume and you will also need more Lego pumps (8-12) as well as a on off pressure switch like I have in my build. The auto switch will control the pressure build up in the system and the tanks will smooth out the demand especially when the structure rotates (highest demand). The rams you are using require a lot of air and the 2 tanks would work. There is a one big issue with GBC pneumatic builds and that is the pumps wear our really fast and I have found that the rams need to be pulled apart and re-greased after each show. I have worn out 2 Blue 6L pumps and then decided to not use them during Lego shows or for large builds ( like yours). Instead I use small scuba cylinders regulated down to 1.6 to 1.9 bar. For my Ball Cleaning Machine (Mechanical version of Akiuki's) during Bricktober 2019 Lego show I used a 200 Bar 2L a scuba tank to run the machine. Each 1x 2 Liter tank lasted 8 hrs. Another alternative I am looking into is a small 3-4 Bar air brush compressor. They are about $100AUD on ebay, have a small air tank and are quite (apparently). Hopefully that helps @9v systemAs an FYI the one I built didn't drop a ball that I can recall during Bricktober. It did stop once but other than that it was the most reliable module

  19. It is finally complete! 100% mechanical. It is being displayed at Perth Bricktober this weekend (11 & 12 Oct 2019). A long journey and glade it is done. Now onto the Studio file....     axle sorter WIP - need advice

    I was actually looking to build the Akiyuki axle sorter but not any more this one is sooooo much simpler and cheaper to build. I would modify this one to have the catching trays lower for the longer axles so the axles can bend around the arch as they fall instead of dropping on the trays. Sticking to the original is good to start with but there is always improvements. Not even the Lego sets stay standard around my house!

    @Dan Kressin I just cam up with the same answer as @letsbuild after looking at your Studio file on Brick set before I scrolled down. 2 out of 2 that has to be the right answer Thanks for posting your work on the Studio file, when I saw your post on FB I knew I had to build it! Good luck with the gears, they maybe a challenge. My recomentations is to work from the motor out to the outside of the models drive system and SAVE often to save the heart ache ( I have done a lot of models now and found this to be the best way)

    To get back onto why we all here... The build so far is really good. It has the "Technic" feel which is a little surprising because it is a programmable set with position controlled motors that often negates the need for gearing and more complicate construction methods. There are a few pin choices that are interesting with axle pins being used as locator pins when standard black friction pins would give better stability in the frame. The set is worth every cent so far and I am only just beginning. It would not be too difficult to modify it for PF and remove the Control Plus parts for other builds (my intention).
