    [MOC] Dark Lord

If there were no studs on the base i would not recognise this is build with bricks. it looks so much like a regular action figure. I really admire your talent!

    Favourite Minifigure

I got the Lego Oasis Ambush 5938 with the tape when i was a kid and listened to the Story of Johnny Thunder hundreds of times in my childhood. When i was 6 years old i got the Sphinx 5978... These Sets made me search for books about history. I wanted to become a archeologist, get a job in a Museum or something comparable since that time. It motivated me to get good grades to be able to study history. Now there are my final exams soon. There are no minifigures that could come anywhere near to that level of emottional Investment i have with Joe Freeman, Prof. Articus, an Linda Lovely (thats the way Johnny Thunder, Prof. Killroy and Pippin Reed were called in the german version). I made a lot of custom printed Minifigures to complete my collection Lego left unfinished (Simpsons and Lord of the Rings). They are the ones i am most proud of having them in my collection. Just looking at the design i can´t really choose a fair favourite. Licenced and unlicenced Figures are a comletely different thing. If you create your own lego Knight, you can make everything perfectly fitting with the style of a minifigure from the first scratch on. Making a licence character means to transfer a existing and in most cases much more complex design into Lego. Making an Uruk-Hai or Spidermen with web printing araund the head and the red Stripes on his arms a good lego minifigure is a much bigger achievement than making a cute costume cmf. Lego Theoden in armor is a gorgeous little guy, but legs and arms without Armor don´t represent the character perfectly. that is something that stays in my head and what unlicenced figures dont have to care about. Beauce of that i would separate them in the two categories. From the licenced minifigures i would choose Gimli and most of the dwarfs in Thorins Fellowship. The only thing that was done pretty poorly was the hairpiece of Kili used for Torin and Fili, which don´t hae quivers... The Lego Batman Movie Riddler is outstanding in my opinion with printed question marks on his Arms and the two new moulds for him. One of my favourite minifigures of all time will also be the Green Goblin from the lego studio sets. I got the one with golden Eye Patterns when i was a kid and love him till today, He is even more impressing thinking about how early he was produced. Between the unlicenced minifigures my favourits by design are the outstandig Anubis guard, some of the costumed minifigures (GORILLA, Dragon, Elephant, Lizard, Unicorn, Giraffe), Shakespeare from the Lego Movie Series and some other historical Figures like the Caveman from Series 1. I love what they represent eaqually and they are done in perfection.

    Toy Story 2019

I hope we get that legs and arms in other Themes too. Goofy and Sauron would benefit from that, too.
  4. Femen is the Feminist organisation which is running around nude to demonstrate against objectifying women and doing similar stuff like that. Hahaha :'D Thanks for the last one!

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Thank you all for your responses. My thought was maybe the rumored D2C vehicle could be the Akrham Knight Batmobil. I mean we got heigh Ledger Joker that way with the tumbler and later a small set with Bane from the dark Knight rises... They are both way darker than Jason in the game. I also can imagine it would sell quite well.
  6. I think Lego wont do stuff like that because it isn´t kidfriendly. The cmf is made for figures who would not be released in a set like some designers said.in Interviews. The butcher has a steak. I think we can all agree Lego won´t produce a modular building slaughterhouse or even a shop for meat with some working space in the back, don´t we? The arktic sets, the cmfs and the rerelease of the cmfs in different colours Show that Lego knows how popular stoneage stuff is, but the company isn´t willing to make sets with a caveman who hunts down a Mammoth or a cavewoman collecting vegetable and being chased by a sabertooth. Both of them would drive Peta- and Femen activists insane. So they put his stuff in separated packeds. Lego isn´t responsible if Kids Play this way by themself. The hunter with duck would be inviting to play "killing the duck", so i would say certainly "no, there will never be such a cmf".
  7. Ok that´s a point. Not save bet but very, very likely. in my oninion as likely as Mickey. In many countries he is more popular like Borex said. In Germany for example it´s absolutely the case. Simpsons 2 also included the whole Family again and with medium legs there would be indeed a for most people acceptable reason to do so with Mickey, Minnie, Daisy and Donald..
  8. Only combined with a new shotgun mould! xD It would be a nice figure but i highly doubt it.

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Thank you :) Hm... this is pure speculation but could there maybe be an Arkham Knight? I am Thinking about tue possibility to reuse Fireflys Headgear since i aw it for the first time. I think it is because of the target group. Most kids play with Lego for a certain time. If we say they start with 3 and stop with 13 (or at least stop putting mostly Lego on the wishlist we have a Time of about 10 years (= 20 big Birthday- and Christmas-presents - or less if they don't know the catalog when they are really small). I got 2 times a Ship (one Pirate, one Spain), Fort Legorado, the Shphinx from Adventurers, a big Castle ... sometimes a combination of a few smaller sets like Lego Studios and some Harry potter-sets... I also got a few smaller Sets like the sherriffs office, when i had very good results in school. But that is it. I think the average Batman loving Kid will get a Batmobil, Batcave and a few smaller Sets with some different Villans so he has at least a handfull of the most infamous enemies like Joker, Pinguin and Twoface in different occasions. Then they will probably get more likely a Star Wars Ship than a second high priced dc Set. From that perspective the best way is to have some of the most iconic stuff allways on shelves and put a lesser known special character like Zukus in the new Slave 1 into sets here and there so collectors keep staying and the new set looks more interesting compared to the old ones on Ebay than to bring something completely new from the same universe but much less know every year so a few AFOLs can get a whole room of Gotham City display. Parents are also more generous, when they understand what they are buying. Everbody knows Batman. There are a lot more people who would buy their kids a Batcave than a Teen Titans Tower. Thats why Bilbos home was allways sold in my local stores and you were able to get some of the other hobbit Sets like the one with Beorn a random piece of wall and two Orcs everywhere even years after Lego stopped production. That AFOLs end up with the uncountable Xwings, Slave 1s, Batcaves, Police stations and so on in a much longer Time of buying is the much lesser problem for Lego than Kids buying others companys toys because Lego doesn't deliver what most of them want (which does not mean i don't think a Teen Titans Tower would be a sweet set)

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

It will become a Tuning gag if it aus 4 figures... Ok, the there could be in deed a Hush mad hatter or something like that. I don't know the comics as well as many here. Are there connections between Killer croc, Captain Boomerang and Katarna or between Harley and Deadshot so we can speculate how likely a Charakter is to appear in a team with Clayface or Joker?.

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Ok, if you looks at it that way it makes sence. I also get it with Clayface beeing a bigfig or minifig instead of a brickbuild charakter for the first time (even if i don't want a minifigure of him because i am happy with the TLBM version) and wondered for some time why there was no Twoface for so long time till we got one in the Movie sets. But is Lego working that way? I think most Kids don't care about the Logo in tue box, even both include specific Gotham villans fighting batmen ?
  12. I think Donald and Micky are a save bet. They are too iconic to be left out because the average customer will likely don't have them. I hope for a nee mould with closed mouth.

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Is there so much room? (I don't mean that Ironic. If it sounds that way, it is because of English not beeing my first language) in my experience there is maybe one addational villan to the Main one and twoface came in 3 of 2 versions with random henchmen and one Time alone. Joker had noname gang members, too. In the batcave there could also be Alfred, a Bruce Wayne, Robin or Barbara Gordan figure instead of a supporting villan for Clayface. To be honest i think we are Lucky if there is at least one new character like Hush ? They were a rumor going f rom a quite strong Source if i fit it fight. But you are correct. It was said long time ago. I dont understand why there comes a new twoface with the TLBM one still on a lot of shelves in town. The only already existing character i would love to get is an Arkham games inspired Catwoman with new Headgear.

So Solomon Grundy and Copperhead were just rumors again? :/
  15. The Lego products i buy are like a piece of art to me. I love the smileyfaces and the whole cute design of minifigures. The way vehicles and buildings are made to fit the minifigure scales is adorable. With the consistant design everything fits perfectly together for photomontages or displays. I love everything about that. Even when i was a child a big reason for putting mainly lego on every wishlist was the aspect of compatibility. The minidolls don't fit into that universe. I could live with buying a good friendsset like the blue elves dragon and ignore the minidolls (or "minidoll" thinking about how few there are in the sets) but with the Manga eyes printed on the animals and the colours i mostly don't like 99,9% of the sets are completely uninteresting to me.

Favourite TLM2 CMF Minifigures and Accessories Poll

It´s a matter of taste. I love all the good costumed minifigures (Gorilla, Lizard, Shark, Chicken, Dragon, Elefant, Penguin, Bunny, Panda.... Rocket suit guy) and with good i mean cute looking instead of cheap like the cactus Girl in only one colour without any detail. They are on my wall and look adorable. That´s why i buy them. Usability is relative. If you want to make a custom figure of Snake from the MGS V: Phantom Pain-Videogame you have the perfect hat with the chicken suit guy. We got a second dirndl. The one from series 11(?) was very popular and Dorothy doesn´t have a yellow chest. She comes with a great hair piece for younger women and girls. She has dual moulded flesh arms, which is allways nice to get. You could put her in a town or a medieval Moc. i will give her short legs and an other hair piece and and use her as Rose, Sam´s Wife in tlotr. Toto is also cute. Except for the red shoes there is nothing to specific about her. She is basicly a very good normal cmf with flesh colour and also a pefect representation of the movie character. I understand the votes.

    Overwatch 2019 - Rumors & Discussion

Lotr didn´t get a Faramir, Eowyn or even Sauron or the witchking. In the planning of the Hobbit line there was a discussion which dwarfs should be included. With a bit of bad luck we would have got an incomplete Fellowship in both trilogies. Star Wars, the evergreen theme still needs a lot of characters. Same with Harry Potter, the Simpsons and so on. If there isn´t a very, very small group of main characters lego doesn´t care about completion. Look into the Scooby Doo cmf-wishlist-threat. Even with the whole gang and a lot of side characters big fans feel like there should be more. Lego picks the few things most people will buy and for someone who doesn´t play Overwatch ike me it seems they already did the most popular characters with Tracer, Gorilla, Eva, Mercy (even if her face Looks terrible) and the Knight. Like Ninjago (Steampunk, medieval Japan, Modern cars...) Overwatch (Mechs, Cowboy, Ninja...) combines a lot of themes so you can make some interesting sets for Kids even if they do not know the licence. They are the target group. These sets will also appeal to fans of the game and if you are a hardcore fan of Eva you will likely buy the set. If the fans of the licence without any connection to the AFOL community would buy a CMF-Eva for 10€ from a reseller who makes 6€ profit Lego would make much less money than with the set everyone can easily buy. If you want to make Lego look a bit less greedy you could also say for example Evas mech is as much important as herself and fans would miss it in a cmf. A Looney Toons cmf would be more fitting without material like iconic buildings and vehicles for whole sets. On the other hand there are much stronger licences like Disney and Harry Potter(i would ignore the Lego Movie cmfs because it´s as well promoting the own movie as making money from the already known one). If you make one unlicenced series per year, at least one for your own movies and maybe one to a 3rd party licence it´s not the smartest move to choose a videogame, which is already loosing popularity again, compared to a second Disney Series for example. The most important argument is the number and kind of new moulds required. Disney and Harry Potter cmfs have reusable haipieces and accessories. A lot of the new middle earth set moulds like hair pieces and swords are reusable for different themes so it was still ok to do a few more unique beards for the dwarfs. Overwatch needs a lot of very special parts which are completely wothless for Lego in the future if they dont want to produce more OW sets. An Overwatch cmf wont happen like a 3rd. Simpsons series with quite unknown characters like Disco Stu or Fat Tony, even i it would be great for the fans. I can understand the decission.

Review: 76105 The Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition

Thank you for that great Review! I The pictures are just awsome :D You nailed exactly the points everyone i talked with about had in mind looking at it. Personally the model gets much worse for me because of the parts, on which the stickers are put. There are a lot of Shops, that can print own designs on Bricks and tiles. It isn´t cheap and some work to draw but i can save my favourite sets that way, when the stickers loose connection. The curved parts make that impossible for me so i would not buy it even if i´d love everything else about it. The funny thing to me is, that the smaller models did a better job in showing the bulky design of the original.

    Lack of original themes

I don't think they are still Impulse buys anymore with 4€ each. Some years ago it was that way and they were sold extremely fast. They now completely dissapeared from the traditional place next to the register in every store i know. I experienced the time becoming longer and longer till they are sold out with high discount which were never necessary. I'd say the AFOLs buying langer amounts for the full price are becoming more and more important at least in my region. I honestly think you are also severely underestimating the amout of resellers speculating on the completionists and buying whole boxes for years, who now stop doing this because their market shrinks. Collectors of whole serieses are not the main group of buyers but still very relevant. It is simply proven that many if not most kids like collecting and completion, too. All sticker and toy blindbags aim on that. Yugioh and Pokemon was never ment to be completed so i would not compare that to be honest. In the beginning of the cmf they were 2€ each, two serieses per year, 16 figures with quite equal numbers per Box and a code was on the blindbag for every figure. It was 32€ twice per year and easy to get them all. Most people were able to get them. The parts were usefull, the figures special. Everything was well done even if for example a Scifi-Figure is not your cup of tea. If you love 15 out of 16 Figures it is likely you will spend 2€ to complete the series with a figure that is just ok for you. If you have 13 out of 14 cmf-series complete you will likely spend some money to get the whole series 14 even if you like only 14 figures out of 16 really much... it depends on each of us where the personal line is. Mr. Gold finished the collecting for a lot of people with great frustration without getting him. The ones who went on with collecting whole serieses mostly said he was not official part of series 10 because he was only on the backside of the paper and similar to the golden C3po. Now we have a price of 4€ per blindbag, more serieses per year, some with more figures per series, no codes to identify without feeling and a 1:60 chasefigure in the last 2 serieses which are shown on the frontpage and without discussion part of the series. It became in fact work to get the whole series and too expensive for most kids ans even some AFOLs. Licenced serieses are different from the regular ones. They are not part of the counting system like Mr. Gold was not in the counting of series 10. They can be easily ignored even by the most addicted collector of the numbered serieses especially if they are flesh, which looks stupid between the yellow guys on display. So they have to be a popular licence (people have to like it at least as much as the generic archetypes of the normal series) and eaqually well made so people want at least most of them and then maybe buy the few ones, which are just ok, because they already have the others. They have to sell even better to refinance the licence. Disney and Simpsons 1 did this. Batman 2 shows exactly how not to do this. The parts are mostly useless outside the specific figure and most customers know nearly none of the without knowledge quite uninteresting characters. So it sells (i use that time on purpose because Batman 2 is still everywhere in shelves with high discount) much worse that any normal series even compared to the quite unpopular series 14. In my opinion the fact, that Lego is now at least getting rid of the stupid idea of a chasefig is a result of the uncountable boxes of unsold figures of series 18 and the amount of time it took to sell the HP-Series. The licence is unbelievable strong and i'd say even as strong as Disney. The fact how long it took at my place compared to Disney back then till they were sold out is making clear how bad chasefigs and the high price are for the concept of collectible blindbags.
  21. If i was in the Position to decide, i´d bring Mr. Gold back and put one of him in every Box, so People can complete their collection. Beside of that i want a regular minifigure series with some cute animal costumes and historical figures. But to be honest i expect it to become a series 18 2.0.
  22. I am not that sure :/ They released Hugo in the second TLBM-series not in a random DC-Set.
