  1. Hey guys, some time ago, I have coded an app for controlling Lego PF using the IR diode of your Android phone. It didn't really work well, but since this time I have learned a lot about programming and made a new app for you. It is a BETA version, but I hope that there will be no issues with it. Before installing this app please google whether your phone has an IR blaster, this app won't work on devices without an IR blaster (physically not possible). The channelswitch is not working right now, but I will add this feature soon. I would be happy about some feedback from you! APK: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1R9LNj8mhx34Bkn0A7t8wN3RFn3g6LDQC/view?usp=sharing (do not wonder this app doesn't have an icon yet! When you have an idea for it, let me know!) Screenshots:
  2. 1. Yes, the channel switch will be working very soon. 2. Could you explain this issue? Did you click on the buttons instead of holding them like in the ON/OFF mode? ( I never faced this issue BTW:) ) The V1 receiver has the same protocol like the V2 receiver so this shouldn't be a problem. Adding support for third-party receivers would be possible too but the question is how many protocols have been used by the chinese people for the different third party receivers. When it's just one, the implematation would be easy by reverse engineering.
  3. Hello, as you maybe know from other threads I have decided to code an android app that can be used as an alternative to the original Lego app. The main reasons why I have done the project is the implementation of new features and a nice design as I am not a big fan of the design that Lego has provided with their Powered UP app. The app is now available at the Google Play Store. Features of my app: V1.0: -controlling one PU HUB with both A and B port at the same time -reading the battery power of your HUB -choosing custom sounds to play as simulation -Volume button control(that means that you control your motors just by pressing the volume button on your phone) -choosing color of the build-in RGB LED inside of your HUB -renaming the HUB -dark/white theme -turning off HUB Presentation video: DOWNLOAD NOW FOR FREE: PlayStore Hope you will like it P.S.: If you have ideas for new features than just write a post.
  4. @Ros Thank you for your feedback, I will work on this bugs and try fixing them.
  5. I have updated the link to the APK (here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1R9LNj8mhx34Bkn0A7t8wN3RFn3g6LDQC/view?usp=sharing), now the app should be instlling fine. I am working on Powered Up and Control+ support (you can see it inside the app, but it has no function at the moment) @Ros The app should be installing now on your phone.
  6. Hi,I thought about making an App for controlling Lego Power Functions 1.0(not PU). And now I am done with programming this app, without any programming knowledge. In the next updates I am going to make a PU remote too, so you can combine different Lego Sets and I want to make a Mini Jack IR Blaster Support for smartphones, that hadn t an IR blaster built in. Right now the App is only for devices with built in IR blaster. I know there was an App before for controlling Lego Power Functions, but this app had some features that weren t pretty good. This is also one of the reasons why I made this kind of App. Please open the Play Store Link on your smartphone.Link for the App:
  7. @2GodBDGlory Yes, I think that too, the range isn't that bad too, about 5-6 meters. @AussieBrett I would be happy about your tests;) I will make a video on the app soon.
  8. Hey guys, I am working on a new version of PF Remote, which will be far better than the old PF Remote
  9. Hi @_Ozzee_, I like your app because of the great design. I wanted to ask you which IDE have you used?
  10. Hi, I have decided to make PUTools free so now everybody can download it:)
  11. Hallo powered up fans, right now I am programming an alternative app for powered up. My main aim is to make it better than the standard lego powered up app. I would ask you, if you have some cool ideas for the new remote control app? I would be very happy about some suggestion. The app will be programmed for android, but maybe I will soon learn Swift, so I can programme a version for IOS.

Hi, I have made a demo now with a watermark. You can download the test version now from google drive:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1x75Fquqs26aOHplBXKrtNT8S-5tFEEA6/view?usp=sharing This version has all features of PUTools in the Play Store. The only difference is the watermark. If you like it you can download the normal version from Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pfremote.putools When there are some bugs please report me about them so I can fix them.
  15. I'm wondering what battery percent data my app would show when you power such a hub with LiPo. Maybe I will check it out soon:)

Powered Up - A tear down...

@Phil B Thank you for your tips and motivation to make other cool projects;) I think that "freemium" is a great idea to make my app marketing. Although I think that first I will try to sell it and make a free version with a watermark for testing. You are right, there are many competitors when you look at PU software.

@GianCann Like it, although the design on bigger screens could have a better resolution.

Powered Up - A tear down...

@Philo Thanks for this great idea. I will post a demo version, for example with a watermark so you will be able to test it out. If you like it than you will be able to download the full version. What do you think about posting an apk on Google Drive and sharing the link for this test version than.

Powered Up - A tear down...

@AVCampos Hi, yes I understand what you mean. I will think about reducing the price or make the app completely free, maybe even Opensource. Thanks for your feedback BTW:)

Powered Up - A tear down...

@Jetro Yes, I am sure about it that you have a great alternative from LEGO, but I can understand when somebody likes a different design, add custom tunes, be able to control the speed more flexible through moving the seek bars in an easier way than the LEGO app and connecting faster than with the standard LEGO app. I have also realized that the standard LEGO app has problems with connection. You also have Volume-Button-Control option that let's taking control over the hub by pressing volume buttons of your phone. You can run the app easily in background so this also a feature that does not always work in the android PU app. Why do I want to get money for it? The main reason is that I am a 15 years old android app developer and want to earn some pocket money. I would never do it when LEGO would not be my hobby. Hope you understand it.

Yes, this would be possible, I will make some updates soon so you can code the hub like in normal lego app. Technically it is possible:)
