Angle Panels That Don't Quite Match

Thank you both for your insight! I greatly appreciate your replies!
  2. Hello all, This is my first time posting something in the forums. I hope that I am within bounds and rules in posting this. I am working on something for a Star Wars build. Those big ol' Turbolaser Towers, the ones on the Death Star if you need a reference. I have tried to convert to a nice scale and have all my angles mapped out and size and all that goods stuff. I currently don't have the pieces to make this build so I have been using Stud.io to design it. I've come across a big problem though: the corners don't line up just right. Now, I am no Master Builder as some of us on here are, so perhaps my thinking is too 2-Dimensional to really figure this problem out. I am at the main portion of the tower. It goes up about 37 blocks from a base of 30 studs wide to the top of 22 studs wide. It's giving me an angle of about 5 degrees when using bricks as the siding and about 7 when using tiles on their sides. There are big gaps in the corners though and the wedge pieces don't line up. Slope pieces, either standard ones or ones placed using SNOT don't seem to cover it very well. Again, I am using a program and am willing to think that it might be a contributing factor. Now, I am willing to change a couple things like the angles and height to an extent (I may be forced to either way) but I would like to keep this as close as I can to what I have drawn up. I wanted to know if anyone else has had similar issues and what they've done to overcome this particular problem. Was it conforming to Lego's angles and changing the dimensions? Or do you have some snazzy way of having things line up just right? I seem to be unable to put all my images as they are too large. I will attempt to put them in replies. Thank you all for reading my post and for providing me with advice. I greatly appreciate your insight. Sincerely, Sorbetto

[MOC] Star Wars: The X-Wing Story

Hello all, I am new to these forums as well. I wanted to ask a questions regarding what Fabio brought up. Ever since the change from Light Grey to Light Bluish Grey keeping a consistent colour palette has been somewhat difficult especially when it comes to price or aesthetics. The X-Wing, with its discoloured panels and aging, doesn't look bad with several colours making it up but how do you deal with the colour difference? If only the wheels are replaced like has been suggested to Fabio, do you grin and bear the difference in just that one section? Or do you replace other parts with the same colour to make it look more uniform, in this case with other Light Grey pieces? Sorry if the question is a bit long. and Fabio, I hope you get to make this fantastic X-Wing.
  4. That's a fascinating way to plan out your creation. I love the fact that you use both studs and tiles.

    [MOC] AT-ST

@DarthPineapple Hello. Sorry for posting on this so long after the last post. I just wanted to say I really love your work. I wanted to send you a personal message to ask for instructions not only for your fantastic AT-ST but also your TX-225 GAVw "Occupier". I want to apologize once again for posting instead of sending you a message. I only made an account here to send you a message. Unfortunately, Eurobricks wants me to post so many before I can message someone as a new member. Once again, you work is fantastic. I can't wait to see what you make next.
