Wifey Blocks replied to Wifey Blocks's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
for the Canon lens, how do you control the flicker? since I've read that canon lenses doesn't have manual aperture ring and the change on the aperture for every shot can cause flicker.? thank you! this one is really helpful! learned a lot from this one!! I agree that the basics are very important. I am really working hard on doing research and practice to master the basics!- 11 replies

nice lens you got there. I think it is kind of a standard for stop motion to use 55m nikkor lens. Although I've also read somewhere that they also use F/3.5 55mm vintage Nikkor lens. I'm looking to get one myself since they mentioned that it produces great quality shots because of it's micro contrast. I might post again soon on the things I'm going to get for upgrade. Though I finished the 5 parts of my Episode 1 using a smartphone camera. I'm excited to use a DSLR for my next episodes. I've also read this from a post, and yes this webcam is a really great choice. A lot of great quality lego brickfilms have been produced using this particular webcam model.- 11 replies

Hi everyone, I would like to start a topic on FRAMING for brickfilms. I believe it is a very important part of the whole creation of a brickfilm since the composition of shots or scenes can change a lot in our brickfilms. From what I see, a good brickfilm is most likely supported by good framing. Although I am not really sure if you guys find it as important. Please share your thoughts and if you have some TIPS and TRICKS about this. I'll start with the basic that I know RULE OF THIRDS It's basically saying that the point of interest or what you are showing in your picture or scenes should be on one of the 4 intersecting points when you break an image down to 9 parts by drawing 4 lines both horizontally and vertically dividing the image into thirds. I'm not also sure if I explained it correctly but you can also look it up to have a more detailed explanation. :) this really helped me a lot and by watching other brickfilms, I can say that it was applied most on those that I like watching the most!

I agree with that about the story, I've read or watched from somewhere when I started this that "Story is King!", and everything or everyone serves the king. That's a very good guideline for all brickfilmers :) What nikkor lenses do you have?- 11 replies

EPISODE 1 (Part 3) Captain America had to fix his hair before he fights evil. He doesn't want anyone to see him groom so he kept a close watch to see if no one was there. Unfortunately for him, something was already waiting. Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions. Thank you! EPISODE 1 (Part 2) Joker's prank has already been set! Who would be the first victim? There are two surprises, one in the urinal and apparently, one in the toilet. There's no escape for Batman the "Caped Crusader", with Joker the "Toilet Invader"! Hello everyone! This is Wifey Blocks Studios. I recently started creating brickfilms shorts. I am now dedicated in growing this passion. I am very much eager to learn a lot from the members of this community and I would also share my learnings as well. I hope you will enjoy whatever works I may share. As a kid, I remember seeing lego sets and was always fascinated by them, however I didn't had the chance to play with them as much and time passed by. One day, my wife gave me a small set she got from a store and asked me to build it. I started building the set and my wife saw how I enjoyed it. Since then, she bought me lego sets and encourage me to build and have fun with these lego. My wife is my life. She inspired me everyday and luckily, motivated me to bring out my creativity and passion through lego stop-motion animation. The fun and laughter that my videos will share is because of my love for my wife. Every bit of my work is dedicated for my wife! I love her so much! LEGO WIFE , LEGO LIFE! Feel free to visit my YouTube channel and I hope you enjoy my brick film shorts! WIFEY BLOCKS - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCruCdEL3B3iqJRj1Zp8ky6w
