Technic 2017 Set Discussion
BachAddict replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
They should've added some of the rubber feet from Nexo Knights -
Mis-aligned CV-joint axle, misprint or fake?
BachAddict replied to Didumos69's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That's really strange, because male parts always go inside of female ones! Same with screw threads. The bolt is male, the nut is female. -

Hey Robin, nice to see another Kiwi! I watch Trademe for Technic bargains a lot, but you don't sell in my price range :P -
[TC10] Technic Pneumatic Contest - Information Topic
BachAddict replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, I'm in Germany at the moment but my LEGO is at home in New Zealand! All I brought with me was a small Technic R2D2 that arrived in the mail as I was leaving. -
[REVIEW] 42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC

Can anyone compare the tires to Power Puller ones? I have some at home in NZ, but I and my tractor are in Germany! -
[TC10] Technic Pneumatic Contest - Information Topic
BachAddict replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ah, this'll be tight if I want to make something. I won't be back with my LEGO until after Skaerbaek Fan Weekend. On that note, who's going? -

I'm guilty of opening all the new set pages after an update, then having to close the lot before I'm finished and opening them again... -
42056 - Porsche Speculation
BachAddict replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I don't suppose there's anyone in Hamburg that wants a used one on the 2nd of June? I'm travelling so I'll have difficulty taking the one I inevitably buy from the shop across the road from my hostel... -

There wasn't much that was better than bionicles around that time, it was the company's dark age. -

You'd use one or both of the small turntables. -
Power functions IR remote 8885 not working Please help!
BachAddict replied to Toast0307's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You can check the IR LED itself by pointing it at a camera, though if the green status LED doesn't work the remote is unlikely to be operational. -

You know who designed the helicopter? Milan Reindl/Grohl's LEGO. He knew how much we needed that axle! -
[HELP] Abilities of Lego Linear Actuators
BachAddict replied to lol1419's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That model is unrealistic, as even when the springs are fully compressed the lid would be half open.- 20 replies

PF IR Remote Control Not Working
BachAddict replied to PFTechnicBuilder's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
But the light turns on when you push a control lever? I recommend borrowing a controller from someone else to compare. -

Not enough yellow? You must not collect Technic... ;) -
Is Technic relying too much on panels?
BachAddict replied to Richard Dower's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The new panels with so many pinholes can have much tighter integration with the build than the old type, which means monocoque type construction is possible but is restricted by what types and colours of panels you have. -
[HELP] 42009 Outrigger Problem
BachAddict replied to FestiVal's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The tan gears are at right angles to black gears, and you have put one of the tan gears on the wrong side of its black gear. -
Opinion on 42009 - Mobile Crane Mk II
BachAddict replied to DarkShadow73's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
42009 gets you one (or two) 32 axles, five 16 axles, twelve 13 long gear racks, nineteen new reinforced 8 tooth gears, five new sliding 8 tooth gears, two large and four small LAs, ten wheels... that said I am considering selling mine and bricklinking the useful pieces. -
[HELP] Fitting Pneumatic Tubing
BachAddict replied to DarkShadow73's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Pure Silicone oil is quite inert. For T pieces, I connect tubes to them before installation, so I have plenty of room to grip properly. All the larger parts now have smaller tips for easy connection. -
Hailfire Offroader
BachAddict posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Our local club had a little offroad contest, only restriction was no RC motors! I had the biggest wheels and the most motors and won easily. The vehicle was built in about two hours this morning. A short video -

No, they are slightly slower. I attempted a rough calculation but decided robustness was more important. -
Remotely operating function changes in Technic models.
BachAddict replied to beelzibus's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
How Jeroen's gearbox works: There are six driving rings, but they are split into two groups. Only one side of one group is engaged at a time, in a cyclical manner like Sariel's latest gearbox. The three function motors each drive two rings, one in each group. If you add another motor, you can add another driving ring on each side, each giving two more functions. -
