    Click... click... click... Can't stop reading the new stuff! A comment on 8435 - it's the only set released by that designer, which explains some of its idiosyncrasy. I don't remember anything else about him, though I did know his name once! Edit: First paragraph of 2010 is either missing something or has an extra word: The flagship model, the 8043 Excavator, contained a record 6 motorized functions and 4 motors with the most complex gearbox ever attached to them. This Also in the new parts, the 7L gear rack is called 5L. And the word "version" is doubled. Man, 2010 and 2011 were good years! Might be worth mentioning why the small turntable's hole is square - to allow LA and pneumatic heads, technic beams and so on through! I find it very interesting how much softer the dark bley 3L axle pin feels than other pins. Now a round of applause for a job well done!

    You join a LUG. The LUG joins the program. The LUG picks 85 elements they want to order, then each member orders from that selection. Ordering is done in January, delivery in May or later.

    LEGO Sports balls. The old soccer and basketball printed ones are expensive, but the blank orange and white with logo ones from Friends are currently produced. I recommend LUGbulk, I bought 450 balls last year.

    I have accumulated two of them, and also have yet to use them! My building style: figure out where I want mechanisms/motors to be, then kludge connections around them until it all stays together. Favourite part: Pin with hole. The pin holds very tight, which can be useful or irritating.

    The attachment feature isn't much use, since your 100 kb of storage is meant for your profile picture. Use external hosting like bricksafe. Looking forward to seeing the file! My idea for continuous operation is a belt that is mechanically advanced instead of driven, with each plate lifted into the pins when it comes past.

    A few people have done the basket shooter, I won't be surprised if proper instructions appear.

    If your model needs the torque of portal hubs, it might be able to live without perfect pivots :)

    I created a private MOC on Rebrickable to see if I had parts for all the modules at once. Colour matching was playing up, so I submitted it as a public MOC. Once it's up I'll see to give credit wherever it's due!

    Almost all from sets. If I lived in a bigger country I would have bought more black wedge belt wheels, and brown parts for the legs. The brown axles I picked out of the building area at the Christchurch Brick Show :)

    At long last, 3D files! One with correct colours and one in LBG for visibility when building. All the axle pins are black in the coloured one though the real one only used them where visible.

    Me too, but I know I what I can do better next time. My entry is the first original MOC I have ever built for a contest. Knowing that I could not compete with people like you, I focused on uniqueness. I liked your truck, but it was quite similar to other good entries. Comic Sans didn't help your case either! :P

    There's so many options. The simple solutions I use: NXT Remote Control for Android - four control schemes for driving different robots. NXT Vehicle Remote for Windows. - It seems to have lost its website, click here to download the zip: http://goo.gl/JnEaXD Regarding iOS apps, read reviews and try the highest rated ones. More complex but still reliable solutions: Mindsensors IRlink with PF remote Another NXT with bluetooth link. Very flexible controls when you learn how to use motor rotation data!

    I think my comment contributed to the flare-up. I was actually thinking that if weavil had been looking at a real loader his cab might have been more realistic :)

    Which sets are you wanting to build? Buying Technic sets would be the cheapest way of getting Technic parts, and you can still sell the extra parts.

    Your loader is good, but there are better loaders in the contest. Modeling it after a specific real one would have worked better....I really should have put a photo of the real spider in my entry post.

    Another thing I mentioned in my voting post: An excessively long video. I have 43 videos to watch, I don't want to waste my time. The first few minutes of TheNextLegoDesigner's video are the camera circling around a big, mean offroader just sitting there! I skipped to where it was crawling, but the camera was shaky if I remember correctly. My own video isn't as good as it could be. I will work harder next time!
