DC Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

I don't have an issue with anyone discussing this game here, in general, considering how little news there is to discuss in regards to DC Lego, but: Mind your expectations. In that, rarely if ever, do we see TT Games designed character materialize into physical minifigures. Excluding Dimensions and Pre-Order figures, we almost never get any of the character designs shown in the games. Even if we get the same characters--again the designs are often lesser or completely different. So long story short, don't expect to be holding these figures in your hands anytime soon. That said--looks like a great game!

Why are we listing names and when did we decide Copperhead and Grundy were happening? Let’s keep the speculation to a minimum—so as to not get our hopes up or cause confusion when those hopes don’t happen. Thanks!

DC Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

The Jessica Cruz figure will be packaged with the Lego DC Aquaman Rage of Atlantis film—which releases July 31st. Super Lex is most likely the pre-order figure for the Lego DC Villains video game—that does not yet have a release date, but presumably it’s late 2018.

    Doctor Who CMF Campaign

I appreciate the effort that Bill put into these example CMF figures, which look great--so let's focus on those specifically please. Using this as a platform for promotion or (worse) yet some type of "validation via argument" wordplay for why this theoretical series should exist does not seem like a productive use of a thread...

why does lego lord voldemort have a nose?

With a few exceptions, “human” minifigures do not have printed noses—because it should just be assumed that they have noses. Likewise minifigures don’t have printed ears, but many hair pieces are molded so as to give the impression that they have ears. Just because something is not focused on, does not mean it doesn't exist. For Voldemort (and a few other characters such as Mummies and Skeletons), Lego prints holes or slits to emphasize the lack of human features which we would normally just assume to be present. So putting slits on Voldemort’s face is meant to make it off putting and inhuman in comparison to typical minifigures.

    Harry Potter 2018 - Rumors & Discussion

Let's move the topic away from Advent Calendars--there's a 0% chance we are getting a Harry Potter themed one in 2018--we would have heard about it yesterday when Lego unveiled all of the other calendars for the year. So let's pick that conversation up in 2019 please. Thanks!

    Making Eurobricks More Active

I would like to add on the "Leaks" topic: The reason we as staff are quick to shut down anything close to true leaking (which would be images), and ask that members not post links or blatant instructions on how to find leaks--is due to the "blame game" factor. The Lego Police, who search the web looking for Leaks tend to (in our experience) dig to find the Leak and then they just stop digging. So for example, someone posts a Leak on Instagram--then a member here posts the same image on Eurobricks. Well in like a week we get an email from Lego saying what is essentially, "what the Hell Eurobricks, you posting leaks!" because they saw that image here first so they just stopped looking. So no, Eurobricks is not leaking. But Lego views the image on our forum, stops digging, and then just points the finger at us. Which is ironic, considering Instagram and Reddit are just littered with leaks. --- Anywho, thank you everyone for the constructive feedback, opinions, and answers to my impromptu questionnaire. Myself and the staff are reading all of the responses. Please keep up the discussion! --- Just for the record: Fabuland is dead and buried! We did a collaborative Eurobricks Fabuland display at Brickworld Chicago a few years back, mind you the world's largest Lego convention--and all we got, not stop, were side eyes and whispers of "That's not Lego..."

    Making Eurobricks More Active

Thank you @LegoModularFan for opening this thread up for discussion (somewhat ironically ). I'm sure some of the other staff will have input--or would like input--from the Eurobricks community in general regarding this topic. I've been a member of Eurobricks since 2011 (which is a full year earlier than I remember it being!), and I have been the Moderator for Licensed for a few years now. I will say that I, and the staff as a whole, have noticed the general shift in conversation "styles" and activity (and all the things that do come with that) increasingly over the past few years. This is something we have and are addressing internally, and we are looking for ways to reinvigorate the community on the whole. While I do not speak for all of the Forums, I will note my views on the changing of Licensed: Over the last few years I've noted a change in the style of discussion--in that member discussion in general was focused on what's potentially coming and not what we have now. Speculation is fun, when appropriate. Perhaps this is my rose-colored glasses, but I don't remember it being this way previously, at least not to this extent. I personally see this as a negative, as first and foremost I believe this place is meant to be about Lego discussion, rather than the stuff that orbits the product. -- Without trying to derail this, I do have some random questions for the members, if anyone is interested feel free to reply here or to me/staff directly: Would you like to see more contests? What is your opinion of Tags (those small images on the left <---)? Do you use, if ever, Eurobricks reference materials (ie. lists of Reviews, lists of MOCS, lists of Forums)? Have you participated in games on Eurobricks (ie. Role-Playing, Mafia, etc.)? Do you use/visit the Eurobricks Facebook page? Eurobricks on Flickr? etc. Do you post MOCs online? What hosting platform do you prefer to use? Do you prefer broadly defined threads or multiple specialized threads? What is the first page you visit when opening Eurobricks on your browser?

Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

Short answer no. Long answer: inherently that just devolves into film discussion, so let’s keep that in the MCU thread for the time being. For the time being I don’t see any reason why we should be using spoiler tags in this thread.

Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

Ok, PSA Time! Folks--we all know that Avengers: Infinity War is to be released in about a week, and the premiere is in a matter of hours. Which means the internet is gonna be toxic soon. With that said, I'm now posting this reminder about common courtesy in regards to spoilers. As in, please do not post spoilers in this thread. To review: This thread is for Lego Marvel Set Discussion ONLY This thread is NOT for film discussion DO NOT USE SPOILER TAGS HERE as a means to "covertly" discuss the film using a spoiler tag only tricks people into reading things they wouldn't normally want to read if given notice If you want to discuss the film, please use the Marvel Cinematic Universe thread (warning: spoilers allowed) I say all these things to keep this community happy. No one likes spoilers. Please be courteous towards your fellow Eurorbricks members who are coming to this thread specifically to read and discuss Lego sets--not to have a 10 year journey stopped short by loose lips. Thanks!

    Star Wars Rebels

I was not particularly pleased with that ending. I thought the first third/episode was alright, if somewhat horrific considering the wolves (just adding to my opinion that recently the Ghost crew are really just terrorists at this point...), and everything was going fine into the final two-part episode, but those damn whales just killed it for me. Honestly I was fuming after seeing that finale. The moment that one kid mentioned the signal frequency of 0 which "no one uses" I just knew it was going to be space whales. And then, not even ten minutes later, space whales. I understand their inclusion is rather consistent with the series itself, but they just do not feel like Star Wars whatsoever. And really it's not so much their inclusion, but their use--seriously Thrawn is taken down by space whales? Side note: what the hell is going on with Thrawn Canon right now? We know there's a new Thrawn book coming out soon, which expressly promotes the fact that the story is a Vader-Thrawn team up, but now that in no way fits in the timeline whatsoever. The previous book introduced Thrawn pre-Rebels and ended with essentially Thrawn walking onto the Rebels S3 set, leaving no room for potential glossed over stories (like this Vader one). So that means the new Thrawn book would have to be post-Rebels...which makes absolutely no sense now. Vader would be busy with Rogue One and the Original Trilogy and Thrawn is now somewhere in space and has not been seen (along with Ezra) through Return of the Jedi. So, when exactly is this Vader story supposed to take place? Me thinks canon is starting to irreparably crack. I'm just really unhappy with this finale. Random comments: There should have been more deaths. We are now in a post Rogue One/Last Jedi universe. There is now the expectation that in (star) wars, we finally have consequences, and consequences of war mean death (unlike the Original Trilogy in which every one gets out unscathed). I'm not necessarily saying I wanted someone on the Ghost crew to be killed off, but having ridiculous moments like the ugnaught fake out death really just tamper the gravity of the situation. Thrawn seemed far more impressive in this finale than he did in the entire series because he actually brought the threat of death (and action to back it up). But again the show just has our Ghost crew easily taking over an imperial base and everything is going peachy, all the while happily slaughtering their enemies--no problem. Well except for Gregor, but hey the ugnaught lived! Granted on the flip side, Rebels has no problem killing off villains in gruesome ways apparently. What with hungry wolves, about 200 people who were pushed off cliffs in under 90 minutes, and even super-electrocution (but they made a joke about it so it's ok?). Plus didn't Sabine kill hundreds of people when she blew up the station? So yes, I am a fan of the imperials more so than the Rebels. The fact that in previous episode Sabine and Zeb wounded a Scout trooper just to kill the ones coming to his aid made it easier to side with the Empire instead of our "heroes". And that's really just wrong, the show should not make me feel that way. Speaking of which, I'm sad that Pryce is gone. I really liked the character, especially so after her appearance in the Thrawn novel. Story-wise it made sense for her to die in this instance, but I do miss the potential future stories we could of had. This is going to make me seem cold--but from a story perspective, why was Ezra suddenly obsessed (wrong word) with his departed parents again? I thought he already accepted their deaths like three seasons ago, so it seemed strange to me that he was suddenly again focused on them, and a fantasy life that could be, when they had been absent from the conversation for so many seasons now? I hated, hated, the flash forward, Sabine summary of the future ending. I just hate flashbacks or flash-forwards in stories, and this one was just really not good. So basically, nothing happened after this episode. The Empire never returned to Lothal (?) because reasons, Hera had a child with Kanan (?) because reasons (so Hera was pregnant when she was being tortured? Right...), Zeb and Kallus just left (Kallus is my favorite Star Wars character, but frankly I thought he should have died in this finale, but on the plus side he doesn't have to feel bad about genocide anymore because he failed to kill all of them!), and Ahsoka shows up to steal the spotlight (I like Ahsoka, but she always sucks up all the attention whenever she is used. Now the ending of Rebels is focused not on the future of the Ghost crew, but instead the recent past of Ahsoka, and where she has been during the Original trilogy).
