30005 Imperial Speeder Bike Theme: Star Wars OT Parts: 29 (excluding minifig) Figs: 1 Price: Free, Promo Year: 2009 Brickset Peeron - Not availible Bricklink When deep within the forests of Endor or on the open plains of Naboo the Imperial Speeder Bike is guaranteed to get you where you want in a flash. This set was released on 5/09/2009 as a free promo with a select few newspapers including the Daily and Sunday Mirror. It was available to collect from WH Smith & Toys 'r' us Stores on this day. 1. Bag and instructions The Polybag that is seen with most Promo's these days The instructions. (I'll try to get scans up soon) You can find the piece numbers on the instructions like on most small impulse sets too. 2. Minifigs, set overview and parts Here is a shot of the whole set. Pretty good for a promo And a rear shot The single minifig is still fairly impressive for a promo The parts selection mainly comprises of a a load of common parts but a few un-common pieces can be seen 3. The Build Here's a little walk through of the build Stage 1-2. Here you build the Storm Trooper and base of the speeder Stage 3-4. On this step you add the clips for the handle bars and uncommon piece (on the back)which I was pleased to see. Stage 5-6. Now the base of a hinge component and the two control sticks have been added. These are the pistols you receive with agents sets. Again I was pleased to see these un-common, useful parts. Stage 7. Now we have some Gun type things created from axes. More parts I was happy to see. Stage 7.5. This is the front assembly created for stage 8 Stage 8. Pretty simple, attaching the the section we created in stage 7.5 to the base of the hinge. Stage 9-10. All there is to do here is add on the steering vanes and the minifg. Somehow he steers with his fore arms. 4.Final Thoughts & Comparison Before we continue here is a quick comparison shot between this promo and the RAG Speeder Build 7/10 Although simple I did quite enjoy building it Minifigs 9/10 The only better fig would have been a scout trooper Design 6/10 Non canon and not very original, why didn't we just get and Endor speeder? Parts 9/10 I was really surprised at the parts excellent selection included with this Price 10/10 Free promo, what more can I say Playability 8/10 It isn't much of a standalone but if combined with other sets it will incorporate well Overall 49/60 Excellent. I think it was the fact it was a promo and a good piece selection that really 'did' it for this set I found out what the axes are for!

Also notice how they use the Clone BP speeder. Yep and that Shock is the Clone shock trooper not any Storm trooper variant.

Excellent . I saw this on Flickr just a few minuted ago. I like the dual view port design on the cockpit. The legs are well designed too and look fairly poseable. Perfect for tackling though terrain.

Thanks for the new pic KimT. I like how they've coloured the pages differently. For example we have previously seen a republic page which was white where as this one is dark grey.

Shouldn't the title for the poll be 2009 not 2010? I voted for The battle for Endor. I love the figs and layout of the set.

Dah you've beaten me to it. I just finished taking my pics, might as well review them as a set now to add some variety to the reviews. Anyway, nice review . This set turned out nicer than I first expected. I thought the axes were supposed to be guns of some sort . I too was delighted with the unusual pieces (for a SW set) such as the axes.

Your sig fig and goblins both look amazing. The foliage on the surface is nice and blends well with the MOC. My only things I would change really would be the cave section where I would have the walls in brown. Other than that, fantastic. Oh yeah, any more pics of the goblins?

Or if we do I doubt we will get any new moulds as others have hoped. After all the Kit we already have looks fairly like the CW version and a Mon Calamari (spelling?) head has just been produced. I'm hoping for the set to have 3 redesigned phase 2 pilots, you know the ones with orange goggles?

The branch near me is open on a sunday. Maybe only until lunchtime or something. If not on Monday they are bound to give you the set from Sunday if you ask and they have stock.

I agree, that makes the BP all the more better. It's also nice that this isn't too similar to the official droids BP. The trailer is great that it can double up as gunning station or droid carrier.

Great airship. I love all the details like the greebles and figure head. I like how you've designed the cockpit with the pilots head sticking through. Are there any passenger seats? Nice landing zone too.

Great work. The backward head/mask for the head looks good . Your poses have been displayed nicely too.

Yeah. I just picked up my Imperial Speeder Bike from Smiths. I nice little set. Much better than I first expected .

That' not and ATV it's called a quad(4, 4 wheels) bike over here . Nice little Brickmaster. The vents and side greebles on the front add a little more interest into the set.

Awesome 'experimental' techniques you have created. The combo of tubing, bricks and clips is just amazing. I don't know if you have any more of the stuff (tubes) but a fight scene between a jedi and sith would be great, similar to what you have done but on a grander scale. Great work .

If we get more offers like these you could even say it makes up for the high prices.

I always thought that meant it was just in LEGO Stores and a few chain stores only? Anyway nice find on the V-19.
