But how about that piece count??? 6167 pieces according to Brick Clicker
The high piece count indicates that it is microscale… similar price and piece count as the hogwarts set

Finally!! I love it. Hope the signs and posters are printed.

This is crazy. 7 dec and not even a glimpse of the new modular. Have we ever waited this long?
-
Come on… reveal it already!
-
Am I the only one a bit disappointed in the price tag for Visitor’s Centre? I was hoping for a $ 2-300 set.
-
Is «leaky_minifigure» reliable?
A D2C Rivendell is just too good to be true…
-
There is also a castle rumoured at $ 159. Seems a bit strange that a small castle will replace the $ 380 Disney Castle? Unless there is another Castle D2C coming next year?
-
According to Brick Clicker, it will be a pizzeria and jazz club. If true, the hint in Boutique hotel was actually a real hint! Which is very cool.
Edit: It was a bit unclear in the video. I thought he showed a leaked picture of the modular. Turns out it was not, just an example taken from an Ideas-set.

€500… wow, I can’t wait. This will be spectacular (I can feel it)!
The golden age for Lego AFOLs are here!
-
Also, all modulars got a price increase, which is a pretty strong indicator that the sets will not be retired.
-
Just a question: are the seals supposed to tell the unique number of the set? I have the Bowling Alley and Venetian Houses, which are numbered 2302 and 2402 respectively. However, I’ve seen a lot of sets on sale with the same numbers?

Releasing the two brickheadz and a D2C makes a lot of sense. I believe the mistake LEGO made in 2012 was releasing a theme with many sets, many which were relatively small. Such a wide release of a theme presupposes that kids are well into the theme as well, but not many kids are into LOTR, compared to say Star Wars, Harry Potter. An 18+ D2C aimed at adults will sell very well, in my opinion, provided that the set is well executed.
-
According to Promobricks, and in the form of two BrickHeadz sets:
40630: Frodo and Gollum
40631: Gandalf the Gray and the BalrogAnd _possibly_ a large D2C set, but that was not 100% confirmed.
I really hope the D2C rumour is true!

Looks amazing, day 1 purchase definitely

Really like the idea of a tram… will probably be a retro tram, like San Fran or Lisbon… first ever (non-modern) in Lego?

There have been loads of complaints about it. The mess up with numbers, the lack of availability for some sets due to selling out, the price hikes on the secondary market, the delays in production, the cancelling of (a minority of) orders, poor quality instructions, digital instructions, etc. For the small number of sets they sell, it wouldn't surprise me if this range causes the largest number of complaints per set out of anything else they produce.
Yeah, I absolutely agree that there have been issues with the program. But the last round went rather smooth, at least for me. I was able to order both the train station and the construction site without any issues. There are many spectacular sets that reach the 10 000 threshold in Ideas, but very few reach official production. The program enables a lot more sets to reach production, which I think is great.
-
The program officially ended a few months ago when round 3 closed. Do you think the program will be initiated again in some form? I thought it was pretty successfull, all in all. The idea that non-selected ideas sets gets to be crowd-funded is great.

1 hour ago, Maple said:LEGO did come out and say that no set that is retiring this year will be getting a price increase. My guess is that The PS will retire before the BS.
Same. To add to the speculation: The Assembly Square also got a price increase (7 %). So that leaves the PS the only modular not getting a price increase. It has almost 500 more pieces than the BS which is now the same price as PS.
Edit: It looks like it is getting a price increase in Europe, ref Promobricks, so I guess that ends the speculation 😄
-
So the PS did not get a price increase, which I found very strange as both the BS and BH got one. Also, most of the high-end sets above € 200 got a price increase. Could this mean that the set is retiring this year? I remember that the BB was suprisingly retired when no one was expecting it to be…
-
I really really like this set, and much better than the original design. I also like the dark and mature look of it (rather than being colourful with playfeatures). I really like that Lego makes more and more sets aimed at adults.
I find it hard to believe that the set costs € 300 without including motorization and a light source… but I do think this set is amazing and will buy it anyway.

4 minutes ago, Agent Kallus said:I also did, but I risked it and ordered anyway and it appeared in my email confirmation just likew it did for @BrickMatit. try at your own risk. (I did it twice actually, 2 separate orders so 2 forest hideouts, I ordered Ninjago city gardens, and the Monkie Kid Fruit flower mountain)
But look back through the thread forother peoples stratgies, trie cleaing cookies or using a new browser, or order without it appearing in your cart and hope it's in the confirmation email. (but again don't blame me if the risk doesn't pay off, it should do though, but they may be running out of stock)
Thank you! It appeared in my cart after I logged in and out of my Lego account. Made two orders as well, and had to log in and out both times.
-
The set doesn’t appear in my cart even though I’m well over the threshold. Anyone else have this problem? I tried today at 00:00 too.

23 minutes ago, RichardGoring said:Or, they could be announcing the Forest Hideout GWP... Or a Classic 90 Years of Play box. Hopefully not, but they hyped stuff up last year that spectacularly underwhelmed.
That would be so disappointing! But the GWP will be available three days before the event (if the leaks are correct), so I think we can rule that out being the reveal… It also makes sense to reveal the castle at the same time as the GWP is available, as they go very well together.
-
Lego just announced on Instagram that they are going to reveal «something awesome» related to the 90th anniversary, so I guess that pretty much confirms the reveal of the castle (unless they only reveal the space set, which I think is unlikely)

Yeah, that’s fully possible. But then I think it would have a higher price tag because generally larger and more costly bricks are needed for minifigure scale buildings.
