Once again they never say it's Asia that's just an inference from the casting of Jackie Chan, both of the humans in that scene speak English it very well could just be a curio shop down the road from Finn

Not a big fan of this wave, as said earlier all the sets in the wave apart from Lloyd's Mech and Cole's bike feel really underwhelming. Something I find weird though is Cole doesn't get a stand alone Spinjitzu set or have his incorporated in another set whereas Kai, Jay Etc have both

Some torsos leaked one of which looks a lot like TLNM civilian torsos, it's definitely a stretch but maybe it's from a third Ninjago city?

Nick showed off a bit of the Ninjago short that'll be in the KCA on their Facebook, the animation feels very TLNM and I love it.

I couldn't agree more, these films are all so consistantly great it'd be a real shame if they went the way of the Dodo while tons of cash grabs with no effort thrive. (I swear if the Playmobile movie does etyer than TLM2 I'm going to riot) From the few facts that escaped the water tower we at the very least know that at least Two characters, a location, the logo and six vehicles had renders and apparently some non-LEGO merch for it had a roadmap for 2020. I doubt they'd be 'steamrolling' these films but if all the merch sales as well as Benny's space squad is seeming to we could see them finish TLBR and maybe get a TLM3 in time

I was referring to when in 2015 WB said the three pillars of their brand were WW, DC and LEGO. Whether you agree or not it was clear that at least for a time WB considered them a 'Big Boy'

So the current head of WB is out and this could be make or break for the LEGOVERSE, either A) The new boss sees the franchises as one of WB's big boys and greenlights a future entry Or B) They see the past two films as proof that they never should of made this one of their "three pillars" and the franchise gets the can 'till 10-15 years down the line we get a TLM3 to capitalise on nostalgia

Something to remember is merch sales are often where the real money is made with animated franchises so even if the film ends with something like 21M there could still be a chance for the franchises future

The LEGO Ninjago Movie's messy history behind the camera isn't exactly a well kept secret. There were many ideas for the film that got pretty far Originally, at one point it was going to be a time travel movie where Lloyd goes back in time to fight Stop the great devourer from biting Garmadon at another it'd be about them taking on bounty hunters and the Vermilion but the version that interests me was the final revision the film that happened just before the film we know came into fruition So I was browsing Youtube today when a video called "Rocktagon" appeared in my recommended section and from the thumbnail it looked like a clip low quality from The LEGO Ninjago Movie but I recently caught the film on Sky Movies so it was fresh in my mind and didn't remember any that could be described as "Rocktagon" so I clicked on it and found a weird music video including almost exclusively unused clips from the film, the entire channel is just the same sorta thing, music videos with unused clips (and one of the extras from the Blu-ray) showing off some great hints to the version of the film that was apparently rewritten 3 months before it's release. The most notable being Lloyd having a entire action sequence cut and Cole, showing him quite often each time giving something new. It shows off his mech using the shoulder speakers it had in the sets, a ctip of the Quake mech with a brick built wheel, a rather dynamic shot of him piloting the mech, a clip of him fist bumping the quake mech implying it has sentience (Welp, that just made the Meowthra scene more horrifying) and most interestingly a shot of him in front of bars getting increasingly angrier as blue lights flicker on and off in the background. () Now this sounds great and all but there's just one just one problem, it's been recorded of a screen on to a phone with a dog barking in the background, Drat. Though at first this just looks like a few deleted scenes it's really, just a few deleted scenes. But in all seriousness this sorta confuses me as with all this unused animation TLNM reused animation left right and center and heck Cole just disappears during Garmadons second invasion. Maybe it's just me but I always find this stuff really interesting, what could have been with the slightest change, maybe if they stuck to their guns this film would have done better and we'd all be eagerly anticipating The LEGO Nexo Knights movie next fall. Yeah, the meta-narative is a lot more messy this time. Maybe if they had something like 'It was actually Rex Controlling them with his Convenient Plot Device to teach Emmet a lesson or something it'd make more sense in the LEGOVERSE and in the human world as that implies Finn was Controlling them for his story

I have no Idea where to put this so I'll just say it here, apparently Ninjago's to be the sponsor for this year's kids choice awards and there will be "an animated spot that will launch on March 7, Lord Garmadon will seek to steal the KCA slime cannon, with the ninja needing to stop him and return the cannon so that the KCA can go ahead. Stop motion animated content and a social video story will be part of the media package to build up to the KCA. The full story will also be released as “custom branded programming” on Nickelodeon’s YouTube channels. In order to attempt to reach the audience through influencers, a YouTuber will also be getting involved with live action content."

I know, I didn't say Rex was right,he obviously wasn't, I just said it makes him a more sympathetic villian as from his perspective they abandoned him though they probably didn't. I get the apocalypseburgers not valuing Emmet but the thing I find annoying is how they claim he's a terrible leader as of the Fellowship of Strangers he's clearly shown to be the best leader, the team couldn't work together without Emmet. To be honest Sweet Mayhem's scan of Emmet feels more like a judgement of him from the end of this movie I wouldn't say Emmet became special because Lucy believed in him as for most of the film she didn't, it was much more Virtruvius who made him that way. As I said in my first response I get it's meant to be a Meta-narrative bit generally there's an explanation in the LEGOVERSE and the metatextual element just makes it better whereas just explainin away any plothole with "That’s just how the kids imagined it" feels rather lazy and I think the reason TLM2 isn't held in quite as high of a regard as the first is it relys on that explanation too much making the story much less seamless Just to be clear I loved this movie but I just wanted to point out a couple of the problems I had with it

Now I can see that , even though I feel it's a bit of a cop out that make's enough sense from that perspective my biggest problem is generally with the meta-narative stuff there's a line in the LEGOverse explaining it from their perspective as they way these things are generally meant to work is if you just take it for face value it makes sense and is good enough storytelling but once you apply the meta lens it becomes great storytelling. Maybe they could of just added a throwaway line saying they were trying to entrap Emmet and Rex because "They looked like they needed to party" or that there was a methane gas leak or something

So I feel everyone here made some good points so I'ma just run down a fe .First of all no one was brainwashed, though that is shown to be INCREDIBLY lazy writing as the residents of Harmony town were clearly brainwashed .While Rex definitely wasn't "right" Gorilla makes a good point, during that scene you can clearly see Emmet's friends partying and the film clearly states they weren't brainwashed or enslaved so it's of theit freewill and Rex states he was lost for years so the fact they never went back for Emmet (or went back and didn’t care he was MIA) does not bode well for them .The female characters weren't 'Mary Sues' I admit I didn't like that scene in the start where they say Emmet's useless, it's not like he ever 'Took all the credit' earlier in the exact same scene he says that their all equally special and leaders bitit's not like the entire film was like that. Unikitty was same as always, Queen Whatevra was a great addition to the cast, it did feel like Lucy regressed a little but she age knowledges it at the film's end and Sweet Mayhem just felt sorta there but none of them felt like 'Mary Sues' .I agree that the Bad communication thing felt lazy, They set it up with the Queen, it's funny, makes enough sense and has a pay off but then straight after they say that Sweet Mayhem ALSO was just a poor communicatior and that the Duplons were ALSO just good all along. Sure you could just say that it's just a thing with Systarians but it just feels like a lazy cop out. This was definately a lot longer and rambly-er than I was intending but at the end of the day all I'm trying to say is, The Classic Red spaceguy appears in the background for like a nanosecond so it's a 1972/10 would The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part again

I know what you mean but wouldn't it make more sense if they used the named character vehicles instead of the generic ones?
