‘When I turned 18, I had to find the profession that I would do my whole life to serve Flockwood as a full-grown citizen. But, this was not as straight forward as for most of my peers that can easily adopt their parents’ professions. My brother, being the oldest son in the family, would succeed my father as the village blacksmith. Then, as my mother is a chosen village counsellor, I cannot take her profession. This meant I had to find something else, although being a blacksmith is the thing I enjoy the most and I cannot imagine doing anything else. My mom, knowing my situation, arranged that I would help each villager with their daily tasks for two weeks, in the hope I would find a profession that I also enjoyed. I started with repairing and making clothes with missis Leonora. She had arrived in Flockwood after she had managed to escape with her husband when Helgestorp got destroyed. Unfortunately, her husband died from the bitter cold that characterises the mountains. She taught me a lot of things, but did not convince me to become a tailor.' -Ronan This is the first vignette/small build in the: 'finding a profession for my character' series. Nice build I especially like how you made the door simpel but still give it the look of a heavy reinforced door. I also like the subtle detail of the two slope pieces in the left corner. The only think you could do better is maybe try to use different elements for the snow on the tree, it looks a bit too blocky for the style you went with. (I also really like that you used trans clear tiles to make the snow on the ground look like it has been walked on a lot and turned into ice). Good job!

Very good colour choice and like the transition from the white to the path using the light aqua! And also nice that the hair of the elves are matching the surrounding colours! -

Very nice and interesting build! Good use of the transclear deer and I like that you describe one of the plants and animals in mitgardia. I don't know why but I also really like the small hole behind the mitgardian shrew! -
@Kai NRG Thank you! @Eoin Wallace Thank you, the floor was made by accident, I forgot to put plates under the tiles. But I @Littleworlds Thank you! I appreciate it that you like the story! @Louis of Nutwood Thank you very much! @Aurore Thank you! @mrcp6d Thank you! The chair has a design were it is supposed to have a small bend at the back of the chair. You can't see the chair good enough in the picture to see it, but I maybe could use a reversed tile in dark red. And for the candle, I totally forgot to put something in it . @Grover Thank you, that means a lot to me! @zoth33 Thank you! @W Navarre Thank you!

Challenge III - Cat.B: Rebuilding Valnötsträd
(Luc)ky Luke replied to Louis of Nutwood's topic in Guilds of Historica
Love this build! It has relatively small but very detailed houses, I really love the style you use in your stone textures and the story is very well written. I struggle a lot with making snow in Lego but you make great snow! The only advice I would give is making the path less 'busy'. -

Very unique build with some great colour choices! The dialogue with the faces next to them makes it easy to follow the story. I would like to read more! -

CHALLENGE III: Category A: Avalonian Autumn
(Luc)ky Luke replied to TitusV's topic in Guilds of Historica
I think you did a wonderful job! I especially like the small boat and the wooden bridge connecting the two islands. The only thing that might be something for the next build is making the base blue instead of black. The black color makes the whole build a bit dark and I think blue could have made the build more colourful. -

I unfortunately haven't been able to build with Lego the last months because of a very busy period for me. Now I have more time and will be posting something in the upcoming week/weeks. -
Really nice build! The building and dragon are really good!

The roof can be removed to reveal the inside. ‘After the destruction of Helgestorp my father and my mother, pregnant with me, her second son, fled the city. My older brother was only 2 years old at the time. Together with several others rendered homeless by the canons and flames they fled high up in the mountains. Here, after a week long journey through the bitter cold and endless snow, they found a spring concealed in the warm gloom of a small cave. Exhausted by the mountains heavy ordeal and glad to have finally found water and shelter they decided to stay there, knowing that traveling any further would cost even more lives and going back was simply not an option. Soon they discovered that the snowy forests, despite their icy silence, were buzzing with life and a village of small wooden houses would soon surround the cave that saved many broken lives. My story begins in this village that repelled the cold and dark of the mountains.’ -Ronan I posted this later than planned because of a very busy period for me. But still, here is my third free-build. This build can be seen as an upgrade from my first free build and is the start of Ronan’s story. The build represents the home of Ronan Lund. The roof doesn’t look great because I ran out of white slopes and had to make it with only a few wedge plates. The front of the house looks a bit odd, this is also because I ran out of pieces. Tips and other forms of feedback are very much appreciated.
-
@Grover Thank you very much! I agree with the front looking a bit odd. It was rushed and I had to cover the front up with the last pieces I had. @en_zoo Thank you! The front was made with some leftovers and If I had more bricks I would have made something better out of it. And I have to dissapoint you because the path is not made of gold , it is probably the lighting that makes it look that way. It is made of dark tan. @Kai NRG Yes it is, thank you! @zoth33 Thank you! @mccoyed Thank you, It took me a long time to make the floor. @The Last of Nergoue Thank you!

I didn't had the change to do anything with Lego for a few months unfortunately but will finish a big free build (for my standards) in a about a week. -
Nice build, you made a great atmosphere with the lighting. The bellows is really good and I love the part you use for the tool rack.

Made this build without a specific story and just wanted to experiment with snow and smaller trees. It shows some of the scavenging hunts of Ronan and his horse in the high mountains of Mitgarida. Resulting from the feedback from last time I tried to make a lighter photo of the build. Tips are always appreciated. Higher quality pictures are on my Flickr account, I can only upload 30Kb for some reason if anyone knows the reason please let me know.

Thank you for the tip! Thank you! The goal of this build has been completed! Thank you! It is now linked to the BBcode thanks to Henjin_Quilones. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! At first I wasn't really sure about the snow on the bushes and thought it would look too big. Thank you! Thank you! I am looking forward to your version of a packed horse! Thank you! I have something that I want to try to make the background without the lines. I hope I can incorporate it in my next build. Thank you! Now you make me feel bad for the horse.
