Micro World.... sounds intriguing. I've really been interested in mini/micro building since building the Mini Modulars. I'd like to see more mini/micro sets.

My blog about CUUSOO is up and I highlighted this project. It's one of my favorites and I'm very glad that others are spreading the word and supporting it. http://thebrickblogger.com/2012/02/lego-cuusoo-introduction/ -

I think it's the flash of taking the pictures. Happens to me all the time when I try to take pictures of the LEGO - the colors just aren't captured quite right. Can't say anything about the designs, look fine to me, but any discoloration I'm attributing to the pictures. -

I definitely agree! Especially about the female figs. Even though I prefer the other vampiress, LEGO's is really nice and I love the female hunter. I'm sure I'll end up getting extra sets to have those to build MOCs with. -
Aw, dang, I missed it. Had plans yesterday so it would have been hard to make it, but I would have tried. Oh, well. If everything was stickered then I guess I didn't miss out on much. Would have like printed bricks.

That is an awesome figure! I personally like it a lot more than what was shown at the Toy Fair and hope it is the real one. I love the cup and think it's a lot more appropriate than the beaker of green liquid. -
I'm still a little wary about the big dragon, but since we're collectors, we'll end up getting every set and spinner and booster. So I'll get to decide for myself whether I like it after I buy it. I just plan on buying as many of these as i can on sale. They seem a little pricey, well the sets anyway. I'm glad they started doing booster packs without the spinners so I can get the characters since I don't play the game.

Yes, I can't wait to get those! -
This looks fantastic!! I would definitely buy it. You should submit it to CUUSOO! I'd vote for it. It's a great design and I really wish LEGO would do more multi-level Heroica expansions.

The polybag idea can be pricey. I keep an eye on Target weekly. They often have a lot of polybag sets by the registers and they go on sale at weird points. I got quite a few of the Harry Potter lab for half price. If you have a LEGO store near you, that's the best way to stock up on large quantities of the same pieces. This would allow you to build your own bags of the same pieces. I know the library near me had a very small budget so they got most of their LEGO donated by parents, but they do spend a regular amount on the pick-a-brick cups, like to get tires and wheels and other specialty pieces. I'm not surprised that the video game idea might not be good. I just know it's been done a few times and were successful, though I think the LEGO meetings were in the evening when the normal library was closed and only the community room was open. So it didn't bother anyone. As for displaying, does your library have a glass case near the entry doors? Mine does and it's locked so things are safe inside. Not sure what you'd do otherwise... Good luck!

The library near me has a LEGO meeting every month. My LUG actually helped them get organized since we use the community room to hold our meetings. The library does a theme each time to guide kids on what to build, though they are not restricted to it. Vehicles were very popular, but they also do holidays and nature themes. Then they put everyone's creations in the display case for a month. We also gave them a copy of Creationary and it's been very popular. I would also recommend the Heroica series of games for older kids and Champion for younger kids (though only get Champion if it is on sale as it is grossly overpriced for what you get). Something we do as LUG is find multiple copies of the same polybag set and challenge everyone to build something different with the pieces. Then we vote on the best kid creation and adult creation. We have a prize box for the kids that has a variety of toys (LEGO and non-LEGO - dollar store toys work very well). If you can't find polybags then you'd just need to get enough copies of a variety of pieces so that everyone is working with the same bag of pieces. I recommend 20-40 pieces with a range of piece types. We try to use polybags because it's easier than organizing random pieces. If you have a video set-up, you could always hook up a game system and allow kids to play the LEGO video games. That's about all I can think of. Good luck!

And I wonder how affordable it will be to buy the minifigure parts from LEGO? The last time I ordered specific parts from a set, it wasn't cheap, especially with the shipping charges. -
I think crystals would be great! Crystal weapons would be awesome. Though I think it would also be neat if they invented something new, a new mold. Not exactly sure what, but they've been making some awesome new weapon molds. I'm not sure a transparent minifigure would work either. If they didn't already have the white ninja, they could use white for a crystal ninja, but oh well. I still think they should make the pink ninja. That'd be hilarious.

Very cool! I like this idea, that the pirates are trying to steal the powers of the ninjas. And A cache of gems would be awesome! I really hope it is Pirates next.

We added the new cards to our game and I must say that these new cards are harder! I'd put them in the highest category of challenge. I do wish they had printed backs, but we were able to fit them in just fine, though I forgot how we modified the dice...I think we made it so that all 6 sides corresponded to a color and took off the random and X2 tiles.

I really hope Ninjago sticks around for a while. Not just for me, but for the kids. One of my coworkers' son loves Ninjago, but he doesn't follow the storyline, he creates his own. Around Christmas, he had three of the ninjas and one of the skeletons. The ninjas were actually protecting the skeleton because the skeleton was all boney and not strong enough to fight. So the ninjas fought for him. See... it can be as creative as parents allow their kids to make it. When my coworker told me the story, I had this huge smile on my face because it was so touching how his son had interpreted the characters.

I haven't bought any of these build-a-minifigure, but seeing that they are releasing more of the collectible minifigure parts in there, I think I'll be keeping a closer eye on it. Last week I saw the wrestler body, the hula girl torso and legs and something else that I can't remember now, but thought was cool. I just wish they had more leg choices.

I know the playing cards for the Ninjago spinner game is not on many peoples priority list, but I was looking through my card holder to see if I was missing any cards and I am missing *3. I looked it up on Bricklink and it said it was a 3D card of Krazi, but it wasn't connected to a set. I thought I had gotten almost all of the Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu sets. I think I am only missing the BrickMaster Mini Turbo Shredder, Enemy Training, and the promotional set with Jay. So does anyone have the 3D Krazi card? If so, how did you get it? I'm a bit of a nutty completist...

Congrats on getting a complete collection. I don't blame you for not wanting to collect any more. It was rather a headache. Thanks for the info on where it was released. I don't think I'll get it, but I'll keep an eye on ebay in case it shows up cheaply.

Monster Fighters 2012
SilvaShado replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Oh, good, I'm glad that there will be female fighters. I really can't wait to see pictures of this theme. I'm very excited about, even a little bit more than LotR or Superheroes. Having said that, I can see myself turning this theme upside down with the monsters being the good guys, persecuted for being different as they're trying to go about their lives as normally as possible, but these hunters keep trying to get them, lock them up and experiment on them. i mean, look at the "heroes" - they're not fully human so they aren't above experimenting on themselves. -

Yay! Some steampunk minfigures! They look like they could kick some monster butt. I just wish they'd make a female fighter... -

I was wondering if anyone has found out what Target's DPCI number is for the two Batman polybags of 30160 Batman Jetski and 30161 Batmobile. A friend showed me a way to search Targets' inventories for the polybags to know which store to go to. It's helping me get the Friends Mailbox: http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/mobile_fiats.jsp?dpci=086-02-0064 Anyone can use the above link, just replace the end numbers with the DPCI number of what you're looking for and search in your area. It's actually a mobile site so you can use the link with your phone.
