I am a big minifig collector and I buy sets only for the minifigs, because I tend to like MOC designs more than official sets. I have not bought a single sequel set because I disliked the movies. Again this is a personal opinion so I would say as long as you like the set, go for it.

They are virtually unnoticeable. The build is looking good! Are you using magnets for the panels or do you have a different solution? The build looks kinda similar to 10030. Anyways looking forward to seeing it finished!

A CW version of the 212th trooper exists too, but there was still a battle pack made for it. Yeah but they never had to have 4 identical minifigs, one of them could be an arf trooper or something.

I cannot simply spend 10+ on single minifigs if I were to amass an army. The best battle packs are those which can be bought in bulk, ones which are good army builders. The ones we have got recently are terrible army builders, who needs an army of bounty hunters? The CW has been neglected by a long time and there are still many people that like them. You cannot just say a BP is boring if it has identical minifigs, the best BPs in most peoples opinion are the ones where they are massable. It is not just following a crowd but I think it is one that most people genuinly want. You've seen the 212th clones BP and TLG could literally change the colours into blue and release a new one. Just because the minifig has appeared in a set does not mean it would be 'boring' for it to appear in a BP. Take the praetorian guards for example, you'd rather go for the 70$ set? I don't think so. There is nothing wrong with this, it is providing feedback. We are the customers of TLG and we have a right to 'whine' about it if we are not satisfied. There is a genuine need for the 501st battle pack and I think it is far more noteable and more recognisable than a lot of the sets made today. Ok this is kinda getting offtopic

Looks cool! Definitly a great improvement over the set. Will you be adding a turret to the underside? It looks kinda plain to me. Maybe a bit of detail can help?

That's quite brilliant! Not only it's an alternate build but it can transform too! Been a transformers fan when I was a kid so this is quite cool! I always wondered why they transformed into weird things such as microscopes.

Started reading some of the more classic books including the Count of Monte Cristo and now moved on to the Three Musketeers. Both are great books and the plots are quite interesting.

Very cool truck design! Perhaps post that in the town forum? For the hover truck, IMO it just doesn't have a Star Wars-y look/feeling to it, but it does look rather cool! I guess some things in our world just won't make sense in the Star Wars universe

@Mister Phes Great work on the front page! It's great to see new, interesting content from other forums that I don't visit often. However sometimes there seems to be either nothing on the frontpage for a while or suddenly a lot. I understand everyone has their priorities and therefore, Phes previously mentioned a solution which I agree that Eurobricks could benefit from having a few assistants for each forum to find content for the frontpage to make it more balanced. I would like to volunteer to help out from the Star Wars forum as I go on it everydaybut also to help out the community. I hope you find my feedback useful! Btw I think this topic should be frontpaged so more people can see it I think it can be just something fun or interesting to look at every now and then, coming from forums you generally don't visit.

Watched the Count of Monte Cristo from 2002, turned out quite different from the book, and a lot shorter. I do prefer the book over the movie.

Yes it is! The curves of the ship are a challenge to build. Currently I have not found any other Malevolence MOCs within the same scale so this is a completely original build. If I ever want to build it with real bricks the dark blue pieces would be a problem since they are much rarer or even not available.

Just thought about if we'll ever get another droid battler pack, those stud shooters will look so weird on droids.
