Thanks Ibecks about the Lady Liberty Info. Interesting, I didn't know I was using a technique that is becoming obsolete. I am keeping it up though, once you know your pattern by heart you can browse through a box much quicker than with feeling. For series 6 this is not so important for me, because I don't need many figs, but for Series 7 black knights it will. Also I could imagine that shop owners appreciate feeling less because it wrinkles the bag. I use feeling to verify if I am not sure about a dot code.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Wardancer replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I must say, I am very pleased with the minotaur. I was not so sure about him when I saw the pictures, but now I like them. The golden metallic printing on the pants is very beautiful. They are cute, running around and bouncing into each other with their little horns, acting all important in front of the other figs "Hey, step aside, I have a bull's head." I am looking for a way to make then taller, maybe two 1x1 black plate as hooves. Maybe I can paint the eyes in a better colour, too. A regiment (stampede?) of 6 and 1 leader will suffice. Also I am not sure if the axe is a bit underwhelming for a character that is supposed to be very strong. They look good with the vikings shield but I guess they fight more in a berserk, not caring about defense style. -

I bought series 6 figs at Karstadt in Germany today. Other stores don't have them yet. -

Thanks for the hair comparison. I still wonder why they had to make dark gray dirt stains on the barding. @daleDVM: What is your sigfig wearing? Is it fabric or painted? -
VIP Exclusive 850458 LEGO® Minifigures set
Wardancer replied to Thego's topic in Special LEGO Themes
For me, this is spectacular news. An elf in new colors will make great new regiments in my custom elf army. I hope it's not more sand green or even regular green. Dark blue or black or gray would be great. Light Blue would make good high elves. Red and yellow, meh, I would have to invent new tribes for that. I hope they do not just give the elf the werewolf's hair... but that would not fit the ears. Even if the color does not change, it will hopefully reduce the price for elv parts on bricklink. I bought my 45 elves for 2 Euro each, if I need more one day things get expensive. It's rather annoying that one has to buy a whole set and not single figs. But this beats buying an even bigger set just for the figs. As for the rest of the selection, I agree with you others, there are many better figs than the ones chosen. -

Update: Feb 2016: better recipe Reddish Brown Mix: Glossy 80 Email color 80% Matt 37 Email color 10% Matt 9 Email color All by Revell Germany 90% Take the pot with the 80 brown, pour in the 37 and 9. The result is quite satisfying, better than using pure 37, which is too reddish. Without the 9 it is not dark enough. -
New Lego 10223 Kingdoms Joust Exclusive

My interest in the joust even dropped further when I just reminded myself that in CMF Series 7 a Black Knight which is IMHO superior to the one in the joust will be available... for 2,49 Euro ... in every number I want in every store I know. -
So great. I've been wanting to see this for ages! Thank you.

I guess my tree demon would fit into the Non-Purist Section: Edit: Took out links and pic, because they are listed in the second post of this thread now.

Wood Elf Druid + Tree Demon

Thanks. The fabric is a official Lego elf cape. I had to cut up about 5 capes till I got it right. I practiced with spartan capes first, then with elf capes. When it was finally done, I accidentally dropped the tip into a bowl of soup. That's why it has the dark stains on the front. I am going to make a new one once I have the nerve. -
I like the idea of the horse! Not completely for the outcome, the horse is a bit too cute for my taste; but for the fact that you see the new horse mold, combine it with the old saddle and make compatibility issues yield to your will until it works how you like it. That's a good customizing spirit IMHO.

Wood Elf Druid + Tree Demon

Here some more pics. Had I allowed different colors such as dark brown, brown and regular green, much more would have been possible. But I limited myself to reddish brown and dark green to get colour coherence with the basic elf. A dark brown version would look even more demonic I guess. Painting was very unspectacular, there is no mastery behind that. The eyes are not painted by me, this is still the original paint. . von MWardancer . von MWardancer auf Flickr . von MWardancer auf Flickr . von MWardancer auf Flickr . von MWardancer auf Flickr . von MWardancer auf Flickr -
Wood Elf Druid + Tree Demon

Thanks everyone. I'll post some more pics of the Tree Demon tomorrow. He was not easy to make because there are not many reddish brown parts. The Tree Demon is not supposed to stay alone. My next one will be taller and slimmer and have the hammerhead's head. -
New Lego 10223 Kingdoms Joust Exclusive

The email advertisment for the joust in the German LEGO S@H just came in. I am still not going to buy it. It has to many pieces that are similar to the castle. I just need the figs which will cost a fortune on BL. I was a bit surprised that in the German description they call the black knight explicitly a Falkenritter (falcon knight). I expected them to avoid the reference to the older faction and call him a "black knight" to refer to the black knight myth. -

Hmm I am sceptical about the minotaur. At first I thought I would want 8. But now with LotR coming I will perhaps save that money. There is something about the minotaur that I do Not like 100 percent. It would be most honorable if some of the early buyers compiled a dot code sheet. -

I really like Lady Liberty's hair. The Roman does look a bit naked from the back. Someone give him a cape! -
I would like to see Olivia’s Tree House in the Guild's Tower competition. After all, it has a retractable ladder, reconnaissance butterflies, anti-cat bait and a golden anti-cat gun.

Great figs. I envy you for that torso of which there is 1 (one) available on Bricklink. -
Clusters of the same minifigs in CMF-boxes?
Wardancer replied to Wardancer's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Very interesting! I didn't know there was such a system. This might be very useful when complete boxes are still available. If this is true then my experience with the 2 vikings was a coincidence. Kids, please don't mix the boxes -
The other day I went through a box of series 4 and found two vikings directly next to each other. This reminded me of another incident in which I found 2 or even 3 elves next to each other. Now I wonder if this is due to coincidential patterns in randomness or if it's maybe due to TLGs packaging methods. Has this ever happened to you? Might this be a thing? If so, it could be useful knowledge for January... [i never came across this is in the CMF threads, feel free to correct me if this is discussed elsewhere.]

My Brickwarriors prize arrived today. If the competition was supposed to catch my interest for BW, I can safely say... it did. The assassin knives are great. I always suscpected them to be a bit too big for my taste, but they are not. I like the detail, especially the rounded knobs at the edges. Sooner or later I hope to have every horse rider I make have one in their saddle. I was never too fond of the fantasy gear, because it was a bit too barbaric/archaic/evil for my elven taste. But the armor looks really good. I will reduce the evilness by cutting of the spikes. They really fill a gap in my plans, I like them better than the golden atlantis armour that I would have used otherwise. So thanks again and keep up enriching us. Edit: Just noticed a rider doesn't fit in a saddle with the armour, but I think I can find a solution to that.

I like how they sacrifice cookies to their deity. Cookies make you strong for battle.
