On the page to 6018 he says: "Die Minifigs sind sehr untypisch. Sie tragen die Kettenhemden der Drachenritter, eigentlich deutet nur der Schild auf Adlerritter hin. Oder ist der Schild eine Kriegsbeute? Oder ist der rotgewandete Ritter ein zum Ruderdienst gepreßter Gefangener? Die auf ihn gerichtete Armbrust könnte das nahelegen." Which translates to: The minifigs are very untypical. They wear the dragon knights' chainmail, actually only the shield makes them look like falcon knights. Or is the shield a bounty of war? Or is the knight clad in red a prisoner who is forced into the duty rowing. The crossbow pointed at him could be a sign for this.

Hi everyone, I bought an interesting machine today which I hope I can use for customizing: http://www.tchibo.de/Mini-Schleifmaschine-p400010858.html For 20 Eu I thought I'd give it a try. Has someone tried something like this? Any experience?

Collectable Minifigures: Feeling the Packets
Wardancer replied to Jedi master Brick's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I choose to believe it will just stay as it. Those who want surprises can get surprises. Those who want to enjoy the feeling of beating the system can enjoy it. I think it is a marketing strategy: People feel smart because they beat the system, they exchance stories on how they did it, they conspire to find better ways, they share the fear of "being caught" in the shop. This it nothing but making figs "viral" by this clever trick. Do you know which experience is recreated in feeling the packets? Feeling christmas presents before christmas! Same struture: feeling, hoping it is what you expect, fear of getting caught. TLG creates a emotional, exciting, haptic experience that mirrors events from our childhood. This creates a emotional connection with the product. I love my 60 elves, because I fought for them. Why on earth would they change that? And WE think it's US who outsmart THEM?! -
Multimachine for customizing

Oh great, I was not sure if this was just a way to cut off one's fingers or mutilate expensive LEGO Parts. -

Everything for my fellow Eurobrickers: Is this supposed to be red? von MWardancer auf Flickr The picture was taken with a high end LED bicycle lamp pointing directly toward it. As you can see, that is not red. The piece on the right is reddish brown. One eyesight I would say the boar is even darker than that. The fig is regular red. You can see that on the shields on the right, the boar is not visible any more because the Iphone camera is too weak. Can this be a copyright issue? -

I managed to get all the figs I want in one frenzy today. (Germany has them now!) Some observations: The boar on the shield of the dark knight is extremely dark. I am not sure if this is wanted. It's not even recognizable as red anymore. I don't care as I will customize the shields (elves don't like boars!) anyway. But it looks nothing like the official pictures. Is this a China issue? I got 11 black knights. It's awesome, so much weaponry and armor for this price. But I agree, it is too much of that particular pattern, so they need to be taken apart. I am a bit underwhelmed by the actec. Too much gold and the pearl gold is somewhat cheap looking. The bride is really great, much better than the one from the wedding set. Women at war! I got 11 valkyries. Too bad the shield is a bit boring, but I have ideas. The fig is kind of limited to viking aesthetics though if left unchanged. I accidentally bought a space marine. The guy is epic, makes me wish I was into this sort of thing. -
Collectable Minifigures: Feeling the Packets
Wardancer replied to Jedi master Brick's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I had a nice incidence today. I was feeling the packets eagerly, because I was confused. I had already gone through 3 boxes looking for dot codes. I could not identify a single fig, because I used dot codes I had compiled for myself from packets from a different shop. It had never happened to me that two different sets of dot codes appeared in shops merely 200m apart. So, as I resorted to feeling, hurried, annoyed and feeling a bit surveilled by the store employees, one of them came and said "If you find a bagpiper, let me know." They told me that all the employees feel the packets for their personal supply. So I took my time undisturbed. The best method so far is combining feeling and dot codes. Feel until you get the first definite hit, then code on. -

It's hunting season. They have arrived in Germany. Karstadt has them. The figs are amazing. Please leave all the valkyries to me, ok?! -

I am happy about the new horse. It still feels close enough to the classic. I hope they keep up the habit of adding more prints to the new horses, too, I like for example the ones from the kingdoms carriage a lot and also the one in Mill Village Raid. The Black evil new horse is nice, but of limited useability. I had a short feeling of "Meh, now I don't want my old horses any more.", but that is over. All my horses have helmets or bardings which cover what is their main flaw, the head. So I guess it will not look awkward when old and new are mixed. We should have some kind of memorial thread, competition (MCW?) or community build in honor to the old horse once its time has come.

I am happy for those who are interested in these while I am not. The guy on the left might be interesting, also the black bow, but that already exists... How come we still don't know about Series 8?
-
Great! This is so big you could have a monorail train riding on the rings.
-
Very nice. I especially like the sentinel's weapon, also the chaos paladin's color scheme.
-
This is great, the second shield is very funny. It is important to carry more than one shield at any time.
-
He is a whole army in just one guy! Great idea! I woul have liked to see him from the back, too, but now he is already deconstructed.

I am not sure about the prices, but I guess you can get 2 or more 7946 for the price of 1 7094. The dragon and its age make it expensive. I got a new 7946 for 50 Euro. If I were to choose between a full price 7946 and a Joust, I would get a joust. The building is more detailled and the figs are better. In comparison to the MMV, a normal castle might look underdetailled in comparison. A good source for dragons are used trollships.

This night I dreamt they sold CMF only in bags with three different figs per pag. For 10 Euro. Feeling the content was impossible, because there were so many different parts in each bag. All army building plans were destroyed instantly. -
Do 12,99 Dollars make 9,99 Euros or will they make it 12,99 Euro? Is there any experience on that? I am thinking about buying 4 or more Gandalf carriages, for the horses, the cape and the tan and dark tan bricks mainly.

You are a busy man! I like the custom hair you made for many figs. Also, turning the wampa into a hulk is a very good idea, I like it when customizers sort of lose all respect for the integrety of a product and just saw off what stands in the way of their idea. Also I like the predators a lot. Great painting and I love the way you integrate the brickwarrior armour. Painting skulls on the round armour areas was a great idea. I have some of these armours here and still don't know what to do with it. I am not sure about the predators' legs though. Yours make one almost forget that it's a regular leg with a 1x1 brick under it, but just almost. I am currently working on some taller as usual figs myself and I have not found a good way for this yet. There are alway woody's legs, but there has to be a better way.

Ah I see, thank you, I thought there was an additional difference between still produced 'brown' and obsolete 'old brown'. Great, then the choice of legs is much easier. -

Thanks for the new pictures, every new angle makes them look even better. Is the valkyrie reddish brown or brown? I would say normal brown, but then the shield looks darker than that. Could someone verify that? I am looking for some fitting legs. I hope to hear of sightings in Germany soon. -
Peculiar that in these sets, they have 2 riders (ringwraith and rohan) with capes on horses and gandalf sitting on the carriage with the cape. I have never managed to get a fig with cape on a horse withour wrinkling the cape and everything looking awkward. Also, Gandalf cape seems crammed, too.

I have this problem with my elven army. Only 1 of 60 is female. It sort of depends on the standard you set. in Most cases, would not suffice for me to have a female head and hair, I think a female fig needs to have female shapes. Heads I would not customize, for there are lots of female heads available. It is true, there are not many fighting, not princess-like women in historic themes. There is a nice female torso in tan colour though. Also Angelica from the Queen Anne's Revenge has a very nice and boobed torso, but this is very expensive. The CMF Series 7 is a game changer in that respect. The valkyrie introduces a female torso which is neutral enough for knight, elves, pirates ets. The helmet has female hair, but is kind of limited to viking aesthetics, I hope i can cut if off and use it with other helmets, too. All that for a cheap price. Also, the LOTR elven hair will make great female elves, so this problem will cease to exist for me soon.

Maybe if you use this part: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=42446 Cut off the part with the stud on it, glue it to the shield and then stick either the part you mentioned or the original broken handle in with glue. You will maybe have enough surface to glue with the shield and the stud gives support for the handle. I have not tried this though. For the round shield it might be an idea to buy a smaller round shield, e.g. the one from the chaos dwarf and glue yours on it...

REVIEW: 8831 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 7
Wardancer replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This is great, thanks for the review. So the black knight has a plain black torso underneath. Wellwell, I love him anyway. Still weird though, in comparison to the space marine, who has a detailled torso under his armour. It is good to get a historical brown female torso, this will make good female elves. I also like the bride better than the one before, I shall get one and put it on top of my wedding cake. I would like a black knight as groom defending her against a hungarian horntail dragon, but my soon to be wife forbids it. She says it ruins the cake or something. It's hard to find comething to criticise, but being a good German I found something. The bagpipe does not look like lego anymore, it's realistic shape makes it look like something else. Edit: I also like that the print on the aztec's shield is a bird from above!!
