Gondor custom UV printed minifigures
Wardancer replied to dan76's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Wow, the print looks very detailled and durable. And very true to the original. Personally, I never managed to accept gray as being metal though. That is why I never did any decalling, without metal shine I could not imagine it. -

Thanks Amperzand. Maybe the Elves theme will yield a few non pink ones... With the dark Elves I can ignore color because they are painted anyway. I have been after an Elves hair, but it only comes with some expensive queen.

Dark Elf Champion The dark elf Champion is the King's favourite minion. He lost his left arm in Elf War II, when it had to be replaced with an arm formed of Eternal Ice. The tape idea has the advantage that there is no risk of mispainting and messing up the legs. So if you find a good tape go for it. Another option would be to just paint paper. If you apply the paint thickly enough, it becomes like a thin plastic which can be glued to the fig. Making a template could also be an option, but more work.

Do people actually use bicklink mocshop?
Wardancer replied to Wardancer's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hmm no positive experiences at all... Maybe I should have saved the time I used to upload my ballista. bricklink have been "approving" the moc for over two weeks now, although It says 3-5 workdays. -

Do people actually use bicklink mocshop?
Wardancer replied to Wardancer's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hmm, maybe it is only used by people who want to showcase their mocs. My first impression was: 1) many 'useless' mocs for someone like me who is focussed on fantasy and 2) bigger mocs tend to become too expensive. -

Good point! Thanks for your answer! -
I think it is ok to have black powder weapons in a fantasy setting as long as the technology is demarkated as new, experimental, dangerous, met with sceptisicm, rare and unstable. Dwarf guns in Warhammer have rules for unwanted exploding, so the user might lose his machine at any time. Nine09nueves' story points out how new and experimental the technology is (even if used at Blacksmoke pass, which was indeed a massacre, historians tend to forget how many cannons were lost due to spontanous self-combustion). Nice horse barding!

This is an ambitious project. I like your spirit, taking things from milk can lids, drilling and so on. I think you got the rear horn thingies very well. Torso and legs fit well I believe. The helmet seems a bit uneven, but that might be the perspective.
-
So what do they have on their backs?
-
If you are not afraid of drilling, you can make holes in the back and put hands in.

Very good! Very natural looking combination!

REVIEW: 71012 LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1
Wardancer replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Good Review- useless figs. Even Maleficient's print is so simplyfied and cartoonish that her Body is useless. -
You misunderstood me. I like them big! You are the first person to make and sell LOTR style Elven shields! I cannot believe no one has done this yet.

One simple journey through cold night... (A Dread Knight Comes)
Wardancer replied to nine09nueve's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Oh noo, don't the lyrical we know that travelling at night is not really safe?! Love the ballad! Good knights! Interesting to see the giant brickwarriors' sword in a setting where it looks very believable.- 8 replies
