    Lego 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer

If the box is in nice condition it should be worth around £500-£600. It will be interesting to see if the release of the Executor has any impact on their average value in the next couple of years, I have a suspicion that the value may drop slightly, but not much. I'd love one, but I'm saving up for the Executor at the moment!

    UK Sales

Amazon UK have a couple of good deals at the moment: Naboo Fighter (7877) for £30.43 (26% off): http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-Star-Wars-7877-Starfighter/dp/B004OT6NAY/ref=sr_1_18?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1314521923&sr=1-18 Sith Infiltrator (7961) for £49.60 (20% off): http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-Star-Wars-7961-Infiltrator/dp/B004OT6NWW/ref=sr_1_9?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1314521629&sr=1-9

    DS Core Shaft

Excellent work ACPin (as usual!) The light panels, in particular, look amazing I like the way that you have built these sections vertically; did you use a technic frame to make it stable, or are they supported by the grey half-round cylinders? Have you got any plans for a ESB community build? I might be tempted to join in!

    Lego Star Wars Ebay Scam

It looks like there may be a problem with the hacking of UK Ebay accounts, which everyone should be aware of. A couple of nights ago a UK seller suddenly advertised 6 x Falcons as a 'Buy it Now' for about £180 inc delivery. I immediately thought it was too good to be true, but when I looked at the feedback it looked very convincing (longterm seller, occasional reasonable value sales over a long period) and I'll admit that I was really tempted. However, within a couple of hours Ebay had pulled the plug on the listing; I was so glad that I resisted temptation!
  5. I'm amazed that Ebay haven't done anything about this yet. 163 Falcons & 110 Death Stars sold to date; I've also reported the seller, but a couple of days later they're still available! Also, I've just noticed it looks like another UK account may have been hacked (like a couple of days ago)....two very 'cheap' Falcons available, but the advert wants payment via a direct Paypal invoice! It's got to be a total scam (again); it will be interesting to see if everyone caught up in this will get a refund, time will tell I guess.

Amazon currently have the new Millennium Falcon (7965) for £101.60: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-Star-Wars-7965-Millennium/dp/B004OT8HJO/ref=sr_1_1?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1314295002&sr=1-1 You'll probably need to be quick though!

That’s a massive collection mutley, very impressive! I’m not a real fan of PT but the Kashyyyk Troopers look really cute they must have cost a fortune! Are you going to stop when you reach 1000?

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

I'd prefer a UCS Lobot myself.....Ok, I do realise that I'm probably in the minority on this one! In all seriousness either of these sets sound great; I guess that we'll just have to wait & see.
  9. I saw this last night and thought that it was too good to be true, although I admit that I was very tempted for a minute! The seller originally advertised 6 and these were all sold in about 15 minutes. It was strange though, they weren’t new to ebay, and the feedback I saw did look pretty genuine (odd items, over a decent period of time & UK based) Ah well, I’m just glad that I didn’t get sucked in!
  10. Following on from the cheap Death Star conversation : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEGO-Star-Wars-10179-UCS-Millennium-Falcon-Brand-New-/160641702256?pt=UK_Construction_Toys_Kits&hash=item2566fdd970 I'm almost tempted to have a punt at this; for anyone feeling brave good luck! Actually it looks like a longterm ebayer, it just seems too good to be true.... Mods - please feel free to remove this post if it's not appropriate (apologies in advance if it is )

LEGO Exclusive 10221 - Super Star Destroyer

Thanks Dr D. for the info I realised after I had posted the question it was a bit random & subjective! I happily wasted a lot of hours building my falcon, and I really enjoyed it, so a long build time sounds good. I know that this isn’t perfect (flat base, in particular) but it’s pretty impressive overall and I know that I’ll always regret it if I don’t end up buying one!

LEGO Exclusive 10221 - Super Star Destroyer

Hi DrDave, I’ve just been reading your excellent review (again) and I was wondering what was the approximate build time? Also, do you know if it’s still being released on the 1st September? (the Lego website is currently showing ‘Coming Soon on null’). I’m really tempted to get this one! Cheers, Robin
  13. I hope it works out ok for you, but as the saying goes ‘if it looks to good to be true, it usually is!’ Perhaps I’m a bit too cautious, and you should be covered by Paypal/Ebay anyway Is it possible that someone has started to copy official Lego sets? I guess that if anyone wanted to do it, this would be a likely target (high value, popular); even with differing exchange rates, they’ve got to be selling them at a considerable loss......

    [Review] 10198 Tantive IV

Excellent review Brickdoctor, this must have taken you hours to create! This is a really nice set, and pretty good value (although it was even better before Lego hiked the price!).

    [MOC] Battle of Endor

Very nice StoutFiles! I especially like the forest floor & the amount of detailing that you added to it My only thought is that the tree looks a bit ‘blocky’ (and yes, I do realise that lego has limitations! ); have you seen the versions by Brickplumber? I’d like to replicate one eventually, but I guess they require a lot of brown bricks!

    UCS Millennium Falcon MOD

Hi Marshal_banana, I’ve been looking at the photos of this on flickr and it looks amazing! Do you have any more photos of the engine modification? I’d really like to copy this part of your design if you don’t mind? Any additional details would be really appreciated, such as the number of LEDS & battery packs used etc. Would it be possible to easily ‘retro-fit’ the modification, or does it require a significant rebuild of the internal frame? Cheers, Robin

    Review: 8129 AT-AT Walker

Really great review, thanks Rufus! I must admit that I’m not that impressed by this set, it just looks a bit plain somehow, and unfinished. Perhaps if they had added a bit more detail it would have looked better. I know that 10178 is less accurate, and not very pretty, but it’s a far better set in my opinion. I have some very fond memories of building it on Christmas day a few years ago, and was amazed to see it lumbering across the floor; even my dad, brother & wife were impressed! Each to their own, I guess

Superb collection Anio! Actually, that doesn’t really do it justice, but I’m kind of lost for suitable words. Your Venator & Executor are both beautiful ; it’s great to see them in the same photo as the UCS Falcon as I can now visualise how big they are! Have you modified any of the standard UCS sets?

    Review: 10212 Imperial Shuttle

Hi, I've just checked mine (bought directly from Lego) and it has 24 bags. It should also have 4 instruction manuals, and weigh about 4,007 grams including the box!! It's good fun to build, and is really impressive. However, the top wing will flex and it's also rather interesting to dis-assemble! I hope that this helps. Cheers, Robin
  20. I won a MISB UCS 10144 Sandcrawler on Ebay last night for the (almost) bargain price of £200 inc postage. I know they’re not massively popular with the community here, but I think that it’s kind of cute! Anyway, it’s one more for my collection of UCS sets. I'm planning to buy the Executor next, although I’ve got to save for a bit.....

    UCS Scale Sebulba's Podracer

Superb work Anio (as usual!). I was really impressed by Lego’s new version, but this is something else The detailing is amazing, especially the rear section of the engines. Have you got any ideas for your next project; could I suggest a re-make of 10143 Death Star II?

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Excellent, so we have lots of Episode IV sets for 2012 The 9490 Droid Escape is a definite purchase for me, as I missed the original one. It’s a shame they aren’t including a Dewback & a Stormtrooper or two, but I guess you can’t have it all! I live in hope that Lego will do a new Cloud City one day (or even re-issue the original one!); surely they must know that it would be a guaranteed hit?

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

In the original cinema version he's visible at 22 mins 54 seconds; it's the scene immediately after the one with Darth in his meditation chamber, where he throttles Admiral Oswald. He's lurking around an X-wing!

    10179 UCS Falcon Pricing

As a relative newbie, please accept my apologies in advance if this is a stupid suggestion, but this thread has got me thinking: Is there any merit in setting up a new thread for members to add links to Ebay where there is potentially a good deal on offer as a ‘Buy it Now’? I know other (vintage) SW forums seem to frown on auction ‘outing’, so I guess it would be best to avoid these. However, I occasionally spot SW Lego bargains advertised as ‘Buy it Now’ that I don’t want, or already have, and it would be good if I could help a fellow Eurobrick member with their collecting! Perhaps we could limit it to discontinued, or UCS, sets? Just a thought. Mods please feel free to remove this if needed. Cheers, Robin

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

I must admit that I always had a soft spot for the old 6212. It wasn’t designed to be a ‘serious’ UCS type set and was clearly aimed towards younger Lego fans. That doesn’t mean to say that I’m not looking forward to a new version if it’s anything like the version shown in fallenangel1309’s link! Ah well, I guess that we’ll have to wait & see
