LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

@GryffindorResistance - Please can you provide some further details? I've trawled through the usual sites and can't see anything; I assume you're being serious?
  2. @Mamma Mia Bricks - If you're considering this, I'd definately recommend shopping around for potential suppliers as stores with a lot of stock are generally more expensive. It may also be worth using a combination of Bricklink, plus LEGO's ' Pick a Brick' and 'Bricks and Pieces'; generally Bricklink will be cheaper for smaller parts (e.g. technic pins, greebling etc) but often LEGO is better for the larger plates (especially as they have a fixed postage cost, and they tend to get quite heavy when purchased in bulk!). If you haven't used Bricklink that much, I'd be happy to recommend several UK suppliers which I've used - just PM me

    Building Mortesv's Nebulon-B Thread

Congratulations @bricksmarlin - that is indeed a highly impressive fleet! And, I love your idea of using an image of the Orion Nebula (M42); although that also includes the 'Running Man' top-left (M43). It's one of my favourites and I've spent many hours trying to capture a decent image of it (link). In keeping with the original Episode V sequence have you considered Andromeda (m31)? Something like this could look rather stunning:

I'm quite surprised that BB-8 won't be a UCS set; it's certainly more worthy than Insult on Hoth! It's definitely on my shopping list, but I might wait a bit as it should eventually be available at a decent discount. And, that does mean that the second 2017 UCS 'slot' has yet to be filled, which increases the prospect of a new Falcon a little bit.....
  5. @StarWarsfan1568 - I've deleted the link in your post in accordance with the site guidelines (link). I've included the key paragraph below. 'Bootlegs, Rip-Offs and Fakes: These manufacturers copy designs and minifigures from LEGO, other companies and even fans, to produce their own infringing products which they then sell, often at knock down prices. There are hundreds of names attached to these products and varied quality between them. We will no longer accept discussion and sharing of these products on Eurobricks. Most of these "brands" are facing legal cases and we have no interest in supporting them by providing a place for their criminal products to be seen.'

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Hi @Ryancup and welcome to Eurobricks! And, as other members have said, either Bricklink (or possibly heavily discounted sets might be an option). Some of the 'Classic' sets are incredibly good value and, depending on the design, you may be able to use the odd-coloured parts for the hidden structure/frame etc. I've merged your thread with this one to keep the forum tidy, I hope that's ok.

Please can I remind everyone about our guidelines for quoting images (link); I've highlighted the key section below 'Images: Don't post images that are over 1,024 x 768 (or 768 x 1,024 for pictures with a portrait orientation) or are LEGO confidential. Images rarely need to be over 800 x 600, and any that are over 1MB (including GIFs) are not allowed unless there is admin approval. BMPs are never allowed. Avatar images should be 100 x 100 (and under 20k if hosted on EB), and may not be more than 400 x 400 (and 100k, even if hosted remotely). No animated GIFs are to be used as avatars. Before registering, please familiarize yourself with these tutorials to learn how to reduce your own images. Also, when quoting, don't quote images unless it is specifically needed. This just fills up posts with repeat images for no reason' @Forresto & @benderisgreat - please note, thanks

Great find, thanks! If it's anywhere near the quality of the UCS Slave 1 it will be well worth the wait Link to the relevant Brickset page if anyone's interested: (here)

    [MOC] Project: Endor

Thanks for sharing this @dmaclego - it's truly awesome (and I don't use that word very often!) I've been watching your progress on this via flickr, and it's genuinely one of the very best that I've seen. The level of attention to detail is incredible; most builders would just focus on creating an Imperial Shuttle, AT-AT or landing platform, but you've managed all three! Your approach to the platform supports is unique as far as I know; I dread to think how many parts they required (or the cost) but the end result is well worth it. I hope that you're able to display this long-term, so that it can get the recognition it deserves - a true masterpiece.

I'm quite impressed by BB-8; it's definitely on my shopping list. However, more interestingly it's not labelled as UCS, so there's still a decent chance of another in 2017... perhaps we'll get a Falcon after all

Well, they all look a touch underwhelming, but in truth I've never been that captivated by minifigures. Personally I think TLG peaked when they swapped to light-pink heads; but I did grow up when classic spacemen were cutting edge!! Perhaps they'll be of more interest once the official images emerge, until then I'm just looking forward to a half-decent Yoda's hut, which will do nicely

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

Thanks, @Sir von Lego that's really interesting indeed! I've been quietly hoping that we could get something from Dagobah or Cloud City, so the prospect of Yoda's hut is very exciting. I'm not too bothered about the scale, but it should mean that we'll get a new Luke in fatigues; as much as I adore the 10123 version, it does look a little dated.....

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

No, 10179 didn't include any sort of interior apart from the cockpit and Luke's 'Gunner chair' (which is just a basic seat and steering wheel!). The interior is crammed with the large technic frame which is used to support the enormous weight, so there isn't much room for anything else. I'll be interested to see if the newer version includes one, and how the internal frame is designed. I'd actually prefer it if they concentrated on the exterior - at that sort of RRP 99% will be sold to serious collectors anyway, so I can't seen any need for 'play features'!

Lambda Shuttle and Star Destroyer MOCs

Hi marshal-banana, welcome back to Eurobricks I always thought that the original UCS 10212 was pretty stunning, but this is in a totally different league! The level of detail is just incredible; the engines and exposed pipework really add to it, and the wing deployment is very smooth, especially considering the load that the motors must be under. To be honest, although the white LEDs are movie-accurate I still prefer them to be light blue but perhaps that's because of LEGO's influence! Another masterpiece to add to your UCS Sandcrawler and Falcon; do you have plans to do anything else?

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

That will do nicely, anything below £750 and it will be a day one purchase for me! I'm actually hoping that it only has a small interior section (possibly similar to the vintage Kenner set) so they can use the majority of the parts to create a truly awesome exterior. Just think of all that wonderful greebling - I can't wait

    REVIEW: 75171 Battle on Scarif

Thanks for the great review @Whitefang I totally agree about the high RRP - it's £54.99 in the UK which is totally ridiculous considering the size of it. However, I managed to grab a couple recently at 50% which was a genuine bargain! It's been one of those sets that's been on a seemingly permanent 30% discount, and I guess that's a decent indicator of the what we're willing to pay for it.

    Future Star Wars Sets

@F1v3s - I've just merged your thread with this one to keep the forum tidy
  21. Well, after a lot of frustration, my GR-75 is gradually getting there! The detailing on the underside is stunning, but it's also incredibly fragile! I've re-built several sections 5-6 times - I'm not that co-ordinated and have annoyingly large hands which aren't a good combination in these sorts of circumstances!! It's one of the most complex builds that I've attempted, partially due to LDD being totally illogical, but the end result is well worth the effort. Following on from other comments in this thread, I strongly recommend that you construct the outer-hull plates first, delete them from the LDD file, and then re-generate the building guide. You'll still get lots of floating parts, but if you build the sections in sequence, there's points where they'll link together via a plate etc - which makes it reasonably manageable. The central section is quite delicate during the initial stages, but once you've added the main technic beams that run through the core, it's a lot easier. Oh, and the engine design seems to be totally impossible unless I'm missing something, so I just removed the LBG & Black 1x1 studs and it still seems to hold together......
  22. And it begins.... my first part of a Rebel fleet! I've reached step 71 of 300 (excluding the stand) and completed the main outer hull plates. The photos I've seen of this really don't do it any sort of justice; the level of detail is nothing short of incredible! It's been straightforward so far, but the main section sections looks a little daunting... it could be quite interesting to get this all to fit together. Thanks again to @mortesv for the LDD file.
  23. Yes, LDD has an interesting approach to creating instructions - random floating parts don't seem that logical! I'm currently waiting for my last two Bricklink orders to be shipped but hopefully I'll receive them sometime next week. I'm almost tempted to try and build some of it in advance, but I'm still missing a few of the key parts so it's probably best to wait until I've got everything! I've followed ecmo47's advice though, by removing both supports/stands from the file which should make it a bit easier to view....

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

I have to say that I'm not at all impressed by the new banner for the boxes; it looks like the sort of quality you'd expect to see on a budget 3" minifigure! The Star Destroyer looks decent and could be on my shopping list if I can find it at a reasonable discount. As mentioned by others, Snoke looks a bit odd in Gold robes - I'd expected a hybrid between the Emperor and the alien 'God' during the opening scenes of Prometheus! However, the others are both an easy pass for me which helps my UCS Falcon budgeting. The Resistance Bomber looks like it was constructed by a 10 year old, and the AT-AT doesn't appeal at all. Perhaps I'll be more interested when I've seen the source material.....

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

I'd be grateful if everyone could follow EB's guidelines (link) relating to confidential photos; I've included the relevant section below: Images: Don't post images that are over 1,024 x 768 (or 768 x 1,024 for pictures with a portrait orientation) or are LEGO confidential. This just fills up posts with repeat images for no reason. If you find an image of a new LEGO set and it is incredibly blurry or stamped "Confidential", it is a leak-please don't post it here. If you are uncertain, PM a member of the staff for guidance and include a link to the questionable material. Thanks for your understanding
