Have you checked the order details in your account? My email confirmation didn't include the Stormtrooper polybag but it's shown on the system, so I'm hopeful that it will be included! Also, I don't think that the VIP points are credited until the order has been shipped; if it's not showing then just call CS and I'm sure they'll be able to fix it for you
-
I don't know what you mean.... but, yes, I've had a long day at work!
-
I don't think we need an additional 'Force Friday' thread, so I'll merge it with the promotions one
-
Hi Kakureon, and welcome to Eurobricks! LEGO are currently offering 'Force Friday' special deals on their website which run until Sunday, but you'll need to be a VIP member to qualify. If you're interested in spending some money, I'd call their Customer Service Team and see if they can create an account for you. They're currently offering triple points which is basically 15% of the total spent, which you can then redeem against future purchases. Shipping is free on orders above £50, plus there's also a free Episode VII Stormtrooper polybag with orders. If you're looking for impressive OT ships; either the UCS Slave 1 (75060) or UCS TIE Fighter (75095) are well worth a look. For future reference, there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit
-
Is anyone else having problems with the website? I managed to get to the final checkout screen, but it displayed something along the lines of.. 'sorry we've encountered a technical error, please contact Customer Services' when I tried to submit the order. I was hoping that it would be a slight improvement on the previous version; that was pretty awful at times, but at least you could order through it!!

It's amazing that the UK deals still haven't been formally announced with only 4 hours to go! Perhaps TLG are worried about the stability of their new website so they're trying to minimise the hype; I noticed tonight that it's already getting a little 'twitchy' and failing to sort items High-Low etc. I'll be interested to see if they reduce the current limits on the SW Exclusives - I could do with a couple if they want the business
-
Perhaps it's a cunning plan to make the 'new' Death Star look better! The Duel of Naboo set looks a little small and basic, but if it's around the £20 price mark I'll grab a couple at some point. It reminds me of the Carbon Freezing Chamber set, and there's several useful parts in it. Considering that Darth Maul is only available in £85 set currently, it should be a relative bargain. However, Yoda's Starfighter looks absolutely awful - I just hope that the production version is a significant improvement

It will be interesting to see if the rumours about the European promo are correct; hopefully we'll receive confirmation shortly. It seems odd that TLG lacks any sort of structured approach to announcements across the globe, not to mention consistency with the actual promotions! I'm not surprised that the FO Stormtrooper polybag may be available though; TLG must have a stockpile of them following a mediocre May 4th, but 5 does seem amazingly generous! I was going to order something in the next couple of days to take advantage of the current £10 discount, but the prospect of this offer is enough for me to wait. On a related note, I've just received a 'VIP' email about 75159; in addition to the 'bundle' discount with 75093, there's another offer: 'LEGO® VIP Members, 18 years of age or older as of the sweepstakes closing date, who are legal residents of any of the countries listed below, may enter to win one of one hundred twenty (120) LEGO® Star Wars™ Escape the Space Slug™ sets when they purchase a LEGO® Star Wars™ Ultimate Collector Series Death Star set, #75159, at a LEGO Store or through Shop.LEGO.com during the Sweepstakes Entry Period' Now, if the Space Slug was included with all sales that might be enough to counteract the £125 price increase from the old one!

The 2016 & 2017 Pictures & Rumours threads are primarily intended for new sets (e.g. those to be released in that year) rather than any promotions, events etc. And, as I mentioned in my post, you're welcome to create a specific one for it. We've had dedicated threads for previous May 4th events, and 30th September is probably going to be interesting enough to generate a decent amount of interest (especially considering the possible differences between the US & Europe!). Please feel free to PM me if you'd like to discuss it further
-
The recent posts regarding the confirmed, and potential, offers for 30th September aren't really relevant for this thread. If anyone wants to discuss them, please feel free to create a new thread specifically for it. I appreciate that 2016 is almost over in terms of new sets etc, but I'd prefer to keep this thread as tidy as possible. Thanks for your understanding

I don't think anyone would complain about that! One day my dream of owning a new UCS Cloud City will become reality. I often wonder if there's a reason why TLG has released so few Dagobah & Bespin sets over the years. Considering the aftermarket prices of 10123 and 4502, there must be a huge potential market for them amongst OT fans, especially if it included a nice array of exclusive minifigures. I just hope that 75137 has decent sales figures; it might persuade them to look at it again.....
-
Thanks for the info, I hadn't noticed that! Interestingly, in the UK at least, the 'kit' has an overall discount of £30. If this is an attempt at softening the price hike hopefully we'll get some other decent deals in the next 12 months. I'm expecting some pretty scathing reviews on the LEGO website for 75159 when it's finally released; hopefully TLG will listen to them!

From my perspective, 2016 has been a very poor year for Star Wars LEGO in general. I had high hopes when I first heard rumours about a UCS Hoth set, well until I saw it. It's a sad state of affairs when the only sets that I've actually looked forward to building were both £19.99 (Droid Escape & Carbon-Freezing Chamber). I expect to be disappointed, but perhaps the 2017 Snowspeeder will turn things around, otherwise it's going to be another cheap year for me

Is there anything from the OT that has not been built?
Lobot replied to PaddyBricksplitter's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sets that I'd like to see which TLG haven't been made yet: Lars homestead Docking bay 94 Yavin 4 Endor landing platform & dish TIE Bomber And, without a doubt, a UCS-style Cloud City! -
Looking on the bright side, if TLG are content to 'refresh' a set that was still available until 9 months ago, then we might see a re-released 10179 at some point. I'll be interested to see the UK RRP; it was £274.99 for 10188, but I can see this being £425+ That's quite a nice jump in the profit line, and I'm assuming that RO will help with festive sales. I'm genuinely surprised that they've done this; I can only describe it as lazy. I'm just hoping that 2017 brings some better news for OT fans

Please can I remind everyone that this thread is for 2016 Pictures and Rumours. There's another thread available for this sort of comment and I'll transfer some posts around shortly.....and done And to clarify, a 'scalper' is defined as 'a person trading in the equities or options and futures market who holds a position for a very short period of time' so in relation to the LEGO 'market' they will acquire products that are only available for limited periods (e.g. Comic-Con exclusives) and sell them at an inflated price. So, the term isn't relevant to someone purchasing a set that was available for 8 years, unless I'm missing something.....
-
Whilst I appreciate this may be of interest to some, I really don't want this forum to play any part in 'spreading the word' about the availability of these cloned sets. Therefore I've removed the links from the first post and locked the thread. Personally I hope that TLG either find a way of stopping their production, or in the case of 10179 re-issue it! Thanks for your understanding

Ironically, the reverse of the box looks far more appealing than the front! If it's a fake someone has put a lot of effort into it.... I was hoping that it would include a few really special minifigures (e.g. a chrome Death Star Droid) but it doesn't look that promising. Perhaps it's time for me to spend my UCS money elsewhere; I quite like the idea of upgrading my telescope!
-
I've just seen another image of the set box, and it looks rather dull in comparison to 10188. It's all a bit dark blue and black and lacking the class of other recent UCS sets (e.g. Slave 1, TIE Fighter and Sandcrawler). There's one potential glimmer of hope though; in the bottom-left is the unmistakable outline of a Falcon! Hopefully, it's a sign that another UCS version is in the pipeline... or perhaps I'm being a bit too optimistic?
-
I've just seen it as well and, if it's legit, I'm disappointed. It's almost like a 'can you spot the difference'... Moff Tarkin seems to have developed a bad quiff, and that seems to be the most significant change. Whatever next? Perhaps the rumoured update of the UCS Snowspeeder will have 3 additional parts? This hasn't been the best year for SW LEGO, and this pretty much follows that trend
-
Hi modsquare, and welcome to Eurobricks! As you've discovered 10179 is one of the most coveted of all LEGO SW sets, as reflected by the current aftermarket price. Personally, I'd suggest that you allow your son to build it (carefully!) but it may be worth using a free .pdf copy of the instructions from the LEGO website, and to also not apply the stickers etc to ensure that it retains as much value as possible. it's a mammoth build so you might want to oversee it (I can't build one in less than 20 hours, and I've tried to on several occasions!). For future reference there's a general Q & A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit

I'll be interested to see the final price point of it. Considering that 10188 was initially released in 2008 and remained at the same price for 8 years, it was genuinely excellent value especially in the last couple of years. £275 for 3,800 parts and 24 minifigures; I can't envisage that any SW set will ever be as good. I'd guess that the new one will be £400 - £425, taking into account inflation and the recent 'premium' pricing strategy. That could be the major sales blocker; such a visible jump in cost from a model that has only just out of production....
-
That the Death Star Droid; if I recall correctly it only makes a fleeting appearance in one of the Sandcrawler scenes in Episode IV! I was always confused by that, but perhaps it was one of the Kenner naming 'anomalies' of the 70's? Anyway, it's good to finally hear about the new Death Star, it's just a shame that it seems to pretty much confirm what most of us were expecting... another lazy re-make. With 75098, this isn't the best year for being an OT fan. I don't mind the odd re-make, but it would be good if they were interspersed with the occasional gem. Hopefully 2017 will make up for it, otherwise I'm going to be seriously disappointed
-
Thanks CM4Sci, that's a lot of grey and black, but I guess it goes with the territory! I'm quite impressed by the design of the AT-ST, definitely the best non-UCS version to date. It's a bit worrying that there isn't a single OT Stormtrooper in sight, but hopefully they'll make a later appearance
