The new book will focus on the characters only, where last year's focused on the sets with only a couple of pages dedicated to the minifigures.

Monster Fighters 2012
Remus_Lupin replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Dracula and Frankenstein are a little too close to their CMF counterparts for my liking, but I'm loving the Werewolf. -
Thanks for the feedback! I considered using short minifig legs (from a dwarf/child) and regular torso with Harry's face. But the microfig just amused the hell out of me and I thought it added to the humour of the set up Big fan of the SW Advent Calendar work by the way, looking forward to the 2012 edition.

LEGO Licensed Themes MOC and Review Index Discussion Thread
Remus_Lupin replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Licensed
The HP community build got me searching for past MOCs and I remembered that I did one myself last year, I'd love if it could be added to the index. Two images have been removed from my photostream so the original post now has two ugly white squares, but the primary image has been retained. REVIEW: 8827 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6
Remus_Lupin replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I have to learn to stop being so sceptical on the basis of preliminary images. Looking at more detailed pictures, the series has grown on me hugely after I was initially disappointed. Your OP made me realise though, that for some parts of the world (e.g. UK) there were four waves of CMFs released this year I hope they slow it down a little. Thanks for the great review! -

Not in particular, just wondering if it matches the quality of the first :) What I'm really interested to see is how they retain the trademark LEGO humour while the source material gets increasingly darker with each book.

That second poster is just incredible, I love the inferi. Anyone in the US pick up the game yet?? I cannot wait for the 18th.

Glad this was bumped, had never seen it before. Top class work

I understand Jeff Lord is next in line for the Batman sets if the sale falls through, which it appears to have...however I'd be very interested in 7783 depending on price of the set and international postage, if nothing comes of his interest.

Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List

+1 Edmond Dantes, really fast shipping and set in perfect condition. -
If the first wave is due in January, can we expect to hear announcements on sets in the near future? This year's Harry Potter sets were announced (without pictures) for what seemed like an eternity before they were released in June.

Figs, Creator, Pirates, City, Star Wars, etc, for sale!
Remus_Lupin replied to Edmond Dantes's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I really should take it without the box and save a few dollars. But I can't give up the opportunity to sink my teeth into a MISB Indy set, there aren't many around at reasonable prices. If the P&P was around those figures then I think I'd be happy to go ahead and buy the set. -

Would you ship internationally? I'm based in Ireland and interested in 7197 Venice Canal Chase. Do you have an estimate of how much it would cost to send it over here? Thanks, Steve. -
I've read that WB don't have the rights to create any original material using the HP universe, so that would rule out any 'Clone Wars' type avenues.

Does anyone else think WB could reboot the HP series in years to come? The way popular franchises are being regenerated at the moment it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Remus_Lupin replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not loving the look of these but I'll reserve judgement until I see the other six. I think I might retire my minifigure hunting at Series 5 - or at least wait and see what Series 7 brings. If I like them I'd probably have to go back and get Series 6 to appease the completist in me, but still. -
Those are both excellent, especially Scrimgeour.

I've wanted to do a version of The Owlery for some time now, as I acquired more and more owls with each HP 2010/2011 set. My first attempt a month or two ago was making a simple modification to the 4842 Hogwarts Owlery, so I could fit more owls onto it. This was the result: Having gotten Diagon Alley and another 4 owls, I decided it was high time I made a proper MOC Owlery. So I got to work thinking of how I'd design it, ultimately basing it on pictures from the Chamber of Secrets movie, below: I wanted to keep the colouring consistent with the latest Hogwarts castle, so I decided to take the castle apart to make it. At first I just took apart Dumbledore's office, naively thinking I might have enough pieces, but it quickly emerged that I would need the entire castle worth of pieces. After spending pretty much all of yesterday at it, I finally arrived at the below: Harry sends Hedwig on assignment

Thanks for the comments everyone! Ahhh I KNEW I was forgetting something I did consider the dark tan, but there weren't nearly enough pieces in 4842 to build it from those. And I don't have any other source of them! Yeah it was built completely from 4842, I didn't have a whole lot else in terms of parts sourcing. Thanks for the comments!
-
Thanks lightningtiger! I see your point about the arches, you're right. It's just that I started to run out of regular 1x2 tan bricks and the 2x2 round bricks were the most abundant pieces at my disposal
-
Which is why I revised my initial post with the one you quoted, it was probably an over-reaction. I just like to know absolutely zilch about movies as much as possible prior to seeing them!
-
Oh I know it's a Toy Story short, it was the appearance of the minifigs I meant. Era no worries, it's minor!

Dude, spoilers
