  1. Hi everyone, This is my take on TLJ's Resistance Bomber, in 1:250 which means it should fit perfectly (timeline put aside) with a certain Nebulon B and the rest of the Rebel fleet. Please excuse the poor lighting of the pictures, I don't really have a good setup yet. Front-side, with 2 X-Wings to escort the beast : Rear-side, show-casing the 6 engines and back turrets : Yep, 6 engines ! I saw some artworks with only five, but the movie does not lie : As for the turrets, there should be two guns but at this scale every solution I had was way too massive, so I went for a mini-figure hand, which gives us technically only one gun but a decent scale in my opinion. Finally, a big thanks to @Azrielsc for testing and correcting the early versions of my LXF file ! You're welcome to PM me if you want to get your hands on the LXF, I'll be happy to share.
  2. Mmh I can pre-order it, so either it's a country thing or it is a VIP exclusive pre-order ?
  3. Well you can pre-order it on the website

    75192 - UCS Millennium Falcon 2017 MOD/MOC

Well they definitely drop very slightly, but only by about a half a stud. Mine has been up for 2 years too, and the situation did not evolve at all, so I don't think it is an issue (and it is barely noticeable). Edit : In case it wasn't clear, I mounted it on Efferman stand, so the drop I mention is for a "vertical" position.

    -User redacted Thread Title-

I for one love this format. I'm not sure why it would be marked 18+ for 500+ pieces and probably a relatively simple build, but aside from that marketing choice, I like the look of it, and the rumored price is a good surprise. The exposed studs don't bother me at all. Don't get me wrong I love tiles, but this is an official set and the mix between tiles and studs, especially for Boba, looks really good to me. Full disclosure, I never bought anything else than ships and vehicles until Yoda was released (a set which I also consider to be a very well designed) and I would seriously consider collecting those helmets.

SB00201 TS-PROJECT (MOC Tie Silencer UCS)

Yes I did install it, it was quite easy and obviously a perfect fit for the MOC. However, if you know your way around LED lighting, I think you can easily light the MOC by yourself, there is nothing exotic in the lygod lighting kit.

Vote for next UCS at Lego ideas

I voted for the Gunship. As much as I love the Nebulon, I don't think they would allocate a sufficient pice count to get a good enough result. The gunship on the other side could be a great opportunity to bring in some new pieces to go even further with those hard shapes. And being close to minifig scale, it could come with lots of great figs (Asokha, Rex, even some 501st clone troopers ?). TIE Bomber... Meh. All TIEs can be really convincing in system scale, I'm not really interested in a UCS version.

SB00301 B-PROJECT (MOC Resistance Bomber UCS)

To my knowledge, the SB in SB00X01 is for StarBricks So not much of a clue there !

SB00201 TS-PROJECT (MOC Tie Silencer UCS)

Just to clarify, parts of 75179 make up for 13% of the MOC pieces. I didn't count exactly how many parts of 75179 were used, but it is definitely way more than 13%, and the printed parts alone make it worth it ! For the order details, I will try to find the time to collect it, but no promises ^^

    (MOC) - Cavegod's UCS Sandcrawler

I believe Cavegod said you could use whatever bricks you got, doesn't really matter

    Maintenance of UCS sets

For recent UCS sets, consider printed bricks (https://www.steindrucker.com/lego-set-buendel for exemple). I've replaced all stickers with printed bricks on my UCS Falcon, UCS Snowspeeder and my UCS Slave I (for this one, the windshield is not available in printed form, but I left the sticker off) and I am quite happy with the result.
  12. Update : Instructions are up on Rebrickable : https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-32551 For my very first "big" MOC, I decided to go for a ship that we don't see that much : the correllian gunship, aka the DP-20 Frigate. It is a canon ship, but has very little to no canon visuals (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/DP20_Frigate) so I went for the features and visuals I liked most and tried to translate the formidable look of this gunship in Lego (yes 12 turbolaser turrets can look scary, even though an ISD wouldn't care). I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures, no real space for decent pictures at home at the moment. Final version Original pictures As it was my first MOC, pretty much everything felt a bit challenging, but the worst part was without a doubt the cone head of the ship. I'm pretty happy with the way I managed to close the gaps in that area Close up on the rear section : Final piece count : 1361

    [MOC][Instructions] DP-20 Frigate

Thank you everyone for the kind words ! My Bricklink orders came in, and I'm happy to report that cockpit/bridge v3 actually works with real bricks. I was really worried because the gaps looked scaringly narrow in Studio, but aside from the rail plates in front that I can afford to remove (the gap there is nowhere near as wide as I feared, the plates just don't fit), and the very front rounded plate connecting a bit loosely, the whole thing was fairly easy to put together. Here is a quick photo : I now have to refactor the Spine a bit to attach this new cockpit, and that should be the final version of the MOC. Then I will get going on the instructions

    [MOC][Instructions] DP-20 Frigate

Thank you both ! Yes I am working on instructions, but there are a few things I wanted to improve before releasing it. The most important one was the cone head/cockpit : it is quite hard to assemble and is not even possible according to LDD/Stud.io in its current version. With real bricks It's actually doable (hence the photos), but I still felt like it could be done in a better way. At the moment I have 3 possible versions : v1 is a slight variation of the one I initially showed in my pictures, made to reduce the (small) stress some pieces were under v2 is a full rebuild, works in Stud.io, still needs to be tested with real bricks. It is overall smoother, the base is thinner and it is 1 stud longer v3 is similar to v2 but with a different "tiling" Here are some side-by-side renders, which one do you think works best ? Front : Side : Fitted on the ship :

    Thoughts on TROS?

I agree this part feels like a huge downer. Overall this trailer still managed to get me hyped somehow, and the 3PO scene actually worked for me. If they manage to keep the clowny/cheesy sequences down this could turn out to be a really decent movie. The continuity throughout the trilogy will forever be f*** up, but maybe it can at least get a good ending. One can hope right !

REVIEW | 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer

I saw it built in my local Lego Store the other day, and even as someone who owns the UCS MF I was stunned by the size of this thing. I just don't have 700€ to put in it at the moment, but I must say, once you see it "in the flesh" it looks like a decent price-to-volume-of-stuff ratio. It really looks more impressive/intimidating than the Falcon.
  19. I was pretty sure the box art didn't do Yoda justice, and it seems it really was the case. There are still some angles that feel weird, but overall it is a very convincing scuplture, I might just buy it.
  20. Snowspeeder and Slave I
  21. For non-french speakers, the main info in this review is the weight of the thing, very similar to the weight of the MF. Which would make it technically cheaper. I doubt it. They already retired two UCS sets quite recently and the Y-Wing is barely 1-year old.
  22. AND the gray levers, yay ! I think it looks a bit too retro (really LOTS of studs) especially compared to the most recent UCS sets. I actually had high hopes for wedge tiles becoming a reality with this set :'( Also, with so many quality ISD MOCs out there (granted, they easily have twice or thrice the number of pieces), it definitely doesn't look as impressive as it should have. Still a cool set, if it ever reaches 550€ or less it will be mine.
  23. Whatever the cost, count me in for the instructions ! I'm usually not a big fan of interiors in smaller-than-minifig scale ships, but this one simply is a masterpiece. And on a Mon Cal of all ships !
